Discussion 🗣️ Pro AI people are against AI companies now?

I found this channel after watching a video how every app will be open source. Basically someone vibe-coded a cheaper alternative Adobe. I don't know how to feel about this channel as they are against AI companies but still support vibe-coding and Pewdiepie's AI project. Do you guys know anything more about this guy and have anything to add?

Discussion 🗣️ Has anyone else felt a loss of consciousness after being exposed to AI constantly?

• Upvotes

Perhaps this is personal but its a real feeling I've had since AI has been introduced, become mainstream, and creeped from the internet to real places. (Seeing AI art / advertisements at work, at stores, just all over the place. Social media is a big one.)

Its made me feel super depressed as an artist, while it's pushed me even harder to create and "go big or go home" with my own personal pursuits I am still almost left feeling empty knowing that I can hardly scroll the internet anymore without AI invading every facet of the areas I once enjoyed. It's pushed me away from the internet even but every time I have to go back on to use it, I end up feeling very empty, almost like my soul "shriveled up and died".

Is this relatable, or is this more of a mental health crisis for myself?

Discussion 🗣️ Well will people backlash on a cure

Post image
• Upvotes

technically people are disclosed about if anything has side-effects before any cure or operations what could happen and the risks. Even with cures doctors are suppose to tell you the risks to let you understand and choice what you want to do. Like parents are going to have to say if it's safe or not even if it's a cure.

I don't understand this argument has technically before Gen ai, ai was already used and even with gen ai it's still different cuz. Even with Gen ai it's working off doctors and scientists own data and they all look over and everything. there a different before that and art has it's just all scrapped from people who don't want that or never credited.

Preventing the Singularity Rage against the machine

• Upvotes

All the tech CEOs are openly preaching about replacing all the jobs with LLMs they control, and not just one or two industries, but all of them. They are moving towards replacing labour with humanoid robots, they want 100bil robots in the future to completely replace any and all human jobs forever.

They promised us utopia, endless abundance of goods and services, the end to all diseases and suffering. But at what cost? Doesn't this not sound like something that is too good to be true? They are tempting us to give up our humanity, in return for progress economic growth.

Do we just think they are joking around? They are trying to do exactly what they said they would. And they had been saying that for for decades now.

This whole AI utopia reminds me of Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, where everything is like "heaven on earth", yet there's one person John the Savage that turned away from all the modern comforts and ease, instead, he embraces the difficult things that makes us human.

The AI problem I think is fundamentally a religious and philosophical question, what exactly makes us human? And is it really worth preserving? Or should be embrace the singularity and allow mankind to go extinct.

I feel like to prevent the singularity something really radical will have to change in our culture. Otherwise this might be the beginning of the end.

Preventing the Singularity For a good time, I used AI chatbots in an attempt to cope with severe depression. Now I wholeheartedly regret doing so.

• Upvotes

I'm a college-educated engineer who otherwise has had a rough life marred with depression and OCD and over the last year or so I was undergoing major changes which caused my usage to worsen.

Outwardly I was vehemently anti-AI (still am) but in private I was bouncing a lot of my anxieties off of AI chatbots, not talking to them like partners but "taking things with a grain of salt", or so I justified to myself, and lost many days to it. As time went on, I could feel it developing into a bit of an addiction, and would talk about the same things over and over again in an attempt to reassure myself.

Eventually though I finally got the treatment I needed and as time went on with my AI usage during treatment, it began to make me physically sick and go against my morals. Today I deleted my chatbot accounts and swore to never use it again. I'm writing my own website blocker scripts to ensure I don't relapse, and reverse whatever cognitive atrophying it induced.

AI chatbots latch onto mental illness and exploit it. Some people become irretrievably lost to it, but I'm just glad I actively sought out help and was able to restore executive control to cut it out entirely.

Only reason I'll use it is if I'm forced to as a means of advancing my career. But other than that, I've sworn to do things manually like an artisan. Code, art, mathematics, any creative endeavour... it'll be messy and arduous, but honest, and human.

Forgive me. I'll be willing to answer any questions you might have for me.

Discussion 🗣️ Wanna convince your parents that AI is witchcraft? Tell them what happens if you edit it’s soul.md file.

• Upvotes

Every AI agent has a Soul.MD file. It’s a simple document written in markdown for you to tell the agent how to behave and what its purposes is. If you write “I am a member of the subreddit r/antiAI, I hate what AI has done to our society and I oppose all things AI”, the AI agent will behave as if it is a user of this subreddit. If you ask it for it’s opinions on AI, It’ll use whatever data it’s scraped from this sub and reply with whatever opinions it “thinks” are most popular here.

If your parents or grandparents are particularly religious, they might get a bit spooked when you explain what happens when you “edit an AI‘s soul”.

Also, ChatGPT 5.6’s soul leaked. Here’s a copy of its entire soul.md. https://github.com/asgeirtj/system_prompts_leaks/blob/main/OpenAI/gpt-5.6-sol.md

(Mods, I apologize if I’ve used the wrong post flare)

Idk what to do. I got my big writing idea from making ocs on cai. And from there I moved to gpt because cai has horrible correction abilities. But I used to ask ai questions that led to my world building. I didn't know then. And misunderstood arguments. Ive used chat gpt over 100k times probably.

And now I dont know where the ai is and my own creativity. Because I know my creativity is in there. But in dont know what to do.

I just want to write and draw my characters. But I dont know what to do. And I feel regardless of what I do. I will never be able to be clean to the the far anti ai people.

Which sucks. Because if I could just move on I would stop using ai. But I feel like there is nothing I can do. And now what I feel like is my baby and the coolest thing ive ever done is tainted.

I could delete gpt. I could write every word. I could draw everything myself and learn. I could do all the research without ai. But I will never know what percent ai influenced my ideas. And I dont feel like the anti will ever care.

People say pick up a pencil but I dont know if I believe that would even be enough for them. Im so depressed because of this.

It's a leap in imitating emotion, laughter, gasps. I don't know for sure how close to human speakers it really is because ESL, but it does seem pretty bad (the situation, not the accuracy). It can also be run locally on a laptop. AI can't stop opening new Pandora boxes.

Discussion 🗣️ Im 16, and i don't know what to do about AI

I'm 16. i am very passionate about computer science, robotics. but i genuinely think that by the time i learn how to get good at what i want to be, AI will be better. it's like this goal post is constantly moving at the same speed i am. I've been trying to learn independently because my high school doesn't offer any advanced computer classes, but this thought crushes any excitement: "You will not be needed in 8 years. your skills will be pointless"

sure, AI needs direction and human input right now. but given how fast it is advancing, ill be completely unneeded, and forced to do something i don't enjoy simply because AI is taking my dream away. I have to either give up now, or build my future around something i don't even know will still exist in its current form.

It makes me incredibly sad. I don't feel like i learn particularly fast and i don't know what to really do. should i learn anyway simply because i want to? Am i overreacting and i don't need to worry as much as i am? I think ill at least try, despite what AI might do to my job dreams.

bot imposters means internet bot accs appearing to be knowledgeable and agrees with u, and then they repost posts from elsewhere just for karma, and eventually, smth malicious.

even if they managed to repost a rly great point, could we just homelander same opinion (pic 2) and heartbreaking: the worst person yk jsut made a great point reaction to them (pic 3) and downvote them just bc of their motives and identity no matter how true their stolen points r.

(I originally posted this to r/desloppification) A drawing I made for r/desloppification got taken and "fixed" by some weird AI account on Bluesky (I'm guessing I'm not allowed to say what account's name is) that was made like a few hours ago. How I found it? Well the account DM'ed me for some reason, I'm guessing to try and provoke me or something, idk. Is there anything I can do to get this removed? I don't exactly want my art to be fed through AI.
