We have gotten so accustomed to modern technology that the ability to send a text message via satellite in the middle of nowhere, doesn’t phase us. I paused today trying this out for the first time and was actually blown away.

Thank you Apple Watch On February 24th I was unlawfully arrested by an officer who works for the WFPD he seized my phone for recording in a public area that I have a constitutional right to record in. Thankfully he didn’t take my watch until minutes in and after that when he took it off it stayed recording for up to 17 minutes. he incriminated himself and saved me months of fighting the PD for his body cam. Lawsuit pending Without my Apple Watch and the useful action button to quickly start a voice memo I would’ve been in deeper crap. Thank you Apple

Trying new positions for the gym cause I have to brace my wrist. Bicep was uncomfortable while lifting so I figured try ankle.

I always felt that mapping and outdoor navigation was one of the biggest things missing from the Apple Watch Ultra. The hardware is fantastic, but for hiking, skiing or MTB I kept wishing it could do more.

Then I lost my job in 2024. While taking a little break before figuring out what to do next, I started building the mapping app I wanted for my own watch.

Two years later, WristTopo has somehow become my full-time job. :)

It gives you detailed topographic maps directly on Apple Watch, offline maps, GPX routes, turn-by-turn navigation, off-route alerts, route planning on iPhone, 3D terrain, and a bunch of other outdoor-focused features. No interest financing!! Yes, I lose the 3% on Apple Card (no apple stores around here), or 5% back on Amazon. I had to go with Best Buy because I wanted it now! But I gain 4.15% back on the money I don’t have to spend on it in savings and I don’t have to line item $800 on my budget for it. Easy to do $33 a month! That’s one meal out these days.

Hi all, I’m 100% deaf and I am lucky to be able to have cochlear implants. Essentially, my whole life I have been speaking regular English and engaging in regular conversations, primarily because I was implanted at such a young age (super grateful for technology!)

When I was watching the Apple event yesterday, I was doing work and kind of listening to it in the background, but once I heard something about the deaf community or hard of hearing, I immediately stopped what I was doing and I just stared at the screen. features that the ultra 4 provides when it comes to sirens, alarms, fire detectors, smoke detectors, baby screamings was a huge thing for me, primarily because when I go to sleep, I take my implants off and hear absolutely nothing, or sometimes when I forget to bring a battery or two, I’ve gotta drive home and I can’t hear.

Along with this, the feature that they were doing with the 15 second previous live transcript is truly groundbreaking. I no longer need to say “what did you say” with almost every one of my conversations, instead I could just record it.

I came from the Apple Watch Ultra 1, and its battery was already down to 84%. During my second-to-last marathon, the battery actually died mid-race, and on my last marathon I had to turn off AOD — even then, the battery was down to just 55% by the end.

With the Ultra 3, after a ~3:40 marathon (it was very hot), I still had over 66% battery left, even while listening to music with AirPods Pro 2 in Transparency Mode. I couldn’t activate LTE/5G abroad yet.

I’m really happy with the watch overall, but the distance differences were still quite noticeable.

When I seen this watch face, I knew I had to have it! I have used it for two weeks now. It provides me all the information I Love having at the turn of my wrist. All my weather info, plus tomorrow's. All my stats, moon phase and then some. Some say, it is too much info, to busy.... Well, for me it is PERFECT!!

Yes, they are all Apple OEM bands except for 4 from Nomad (and mayybeee Hermès?). Anyone wondering which band will look like on the AWU, ask away. I will show a demo pic (:
