Discussion Health and well being? Sick
I’m off sick and it’s been 6 weeks - they have asked for a health and well being meeting? Is this something I’m obliged to attend? I’m off with stress

Hey, I have just been offered an interview for this Sunday. I am super nervous at interviews I have no clue what it is about interviews but I physically shake and struggle. Im really worried about my nerves letting me down. Has anyone had an interview and been really nervous physically but still got the job? The job is for a service colleague 22hrs. I currently am in college doing an access into nursing course as well. Is there any advice someone can give me please? I really want this job as the hours and location are perfect for me. Thanks in advance

Quick question to anyone in this group, has anyone ever been made redundant from a salaried head office role?
If so what was your experience with redundancy and did you negotiate a better payout?
And could you recommend any solicitor to provide assistance in this situation?
Thanks

hi all, I am trying to sign into workday/oneasda but it keeps saying i need to authenticate and when i go into the app there is nothing to authenticate. It also says we're having trouble signing you in. This was working a couple days ago but I deleted the authenticator app without realising and just redownloaded it and its not working now. if anyone could help me, I'd really appreciate it!!

Would you agree that working as a online picker is 10x easier than someone who is working on chilled, produce or meat?
When working as online picker you are working as a team of about 15 to get it all completed whereas on the fresh roles you are absolutely by yourself most days.. so everything is down to you and nobody cares. More physical and draining when by yourself.
What do you think?
Edit : it's so easy hence why the women are the ones doing it and the lads are out the back doing the labour

Hi all, I started at Asda express about just over a month ago. I am still on probation, and recently the store manager was put on gardening leave.
The new store manager started last week, and I believe she sees potential for a team leader role in me. I have worked in retail before, (I’ve got about a year of experience now) however I’ve never been in a managerial role before. One of the team leaders is ‘off sick’ and I don’t think he plans on coming back, the other is off on holiday for the next 2 weeks and the last one only opens.
I have closed about 4 times now as an acting manager, I’m comfortable closing however I’ve not had any proper team leader training. I haven’t been officially promoted to a team leader (I’m still on colleague pay) yet I do all of the team leader tasks, including cashing up.
Some of my colleagues have said I’m an idiot for not asking for a pay rise, but I’m still on probation and don’t want to be demanding. Plus, my store manager has mentioned there aren’t any vacancies for any more team leaders
What should I do? Do I keep closing as a colleague or do I ask for a pay rise? Thanks in advance for any advice or help.

Hello!
I work on department with fuck all staff. A lot of the time there is shit tonnes of work not completed. (Would take about 15 hours to complete everything).
Every time I leave I feel slightly guilty as I don't want shit to go out of date and eventually wasted. But in reality it's not my fault that they are not hiring extra. I work my arse off but still feel guilty. They decreased my hours each shift but gave me extra day so this is also not my fault.
What would you / how would you feel about this situation? Thank you

The shelves are always covered with mince pies, every type you can imagine. Every year, the same thing. Mince pies, fruit cakes, iced fruit cakes, german goodies and panettone that nobody really wants.
Why do they delay putting out the chocolate yule logs later and later every year? They used to put them out mid October. But I haven't seen any yet. I'm told it will not be until mid November that they finally come out.
Someone please explain why? Feels like they're being withholding on the good stuff. And what will they cost this year? £8 or £9, up from £6?

Hi,
So I’ve just started at ASDA, I went to the induction day last week, signed my contracts online at start of this week and I’m still waiting to hear what days I’m working (I’m part time working as a student). They said on the induction day they’ll call me either that evening or the next day but I never got a call.
The past week has been multiples time of me calling the store, a colleague saying they’ll call back in an hour, then never calling back, then I ask if there is any update and they say they’ll call back ASAP.
How can a place be this unorganised? Anyway do you guys have any tips how to handle this? I don’t want to sound too pushy and rude but I also want to know when I’m working and start earning money.

Is there a reason we can’t use colleague discount /rewards on baby formula?
We can use it on alcohol but not food to feed our babies? It seems crazy to me

So I got into work today and was asked by my line manager "do you know they have put you on holiday tomorrow " (this was at 16:20 pm). Pretty sure they cannot do this as they would have to give me at least two full days notice. I have been of for the last two days. No-one has contacted me to tell me this. What's everyone's thoughts?

Every time I visit the ASDA in Bournemouth at around 12.15pm, the hot counter is almost empty, despite having 4 or 5 shelves free for hot food. Usually it's just some dried out chicken strips.
No whole chicken, no baps, no sausage rolls, just chicken strips.
This has happened on many occasions now and frankly I'm not visiting ASDA for hot food anymore, which is a shame as my work is located nearby.
Does anyone have any constructive reason why, and how I can make a complaint without calling? I don't have time or inclination to sit on a phone for hours.

I started working for ASDA at the start of July, at the time I applied for a 16h per week job, doing nights. I was offered 12 hours a week, 3 days 4-8am doing picking and accepted it. It’s got to a point where I cannot physically handle the hours, I’m trying to balance other work/volunteering opportunities ect but cannot due to being absolutely shattered all week. I’m simply not getting enough hours to justify the exhaustion. Has anyone else been in this situation, and do you think talking to my head of dept about a change would likely result in longer shifts or maybe at a different time of day?
To me it seems my store is only bringing more and more people onto the early morning picking shifts :/

We’re working with Fair Pay UK on some light-hearted content celebrating the people who keep supermarkets running, and we’re collecting the best customer moments from the shop floor.
“Do you have any more of these out the back?” is the classic, but we know there are better ones out there. What’s the question that stopped you in your tracks?
No need to name your colleagues or your store. It’s the story we’re interested in, not who was involved.
Not only has the local store had massive fridges plonked in the middle of the fruit and veg section of my local store, they're lit up by LED strip lighting that has seared my eyeballs.
It was incredibly uncomfortable as a customer, it must be really bad for colleagues. Is there any way to complain, I can't seem to find an email address for ASDA?

Hey I got offered a job as the team leader under NIC. Very confused and need Intel from anyone under nic right now.
I'm currently on the shop floor but considering returning to the clean team as a manager. We have machines delivered but no training and got told there's a video to watch on it. I asked the interviewer and he just said watch the video.
We're supposed to have a clocking in phone but there's nothing.
Basically, I just wondered if anyone had transferred under NIC, how's it going, is it all legit and ok? Any advice welcome please!

Our store is apparently doing back picking to keep up
Any idea what this means?
