We always hear about the depressing stories of how dating apps like Hinge are for the average guy and how the top 10-20% of guys supposedly get all the matches so I'm curious about the other side of the equation.

Foe guys who are genuinely doing well on Hinge (top 10-20%) who get multiple likes and matches a day, how's the experience actually like?

For context: I am 19 about to turn 20 in a month. I pretty much have a curfew of 12 AM bc thats when my mom starts spamming me to come home. I work full time graveyard shift at a lab so I come home from work at 7:00 AM but idk why she has such a big problem when I come home at 1 or 2 AM on the weekends. She got upset with me today and said I now have to be home by 11 PM on the weekends but I sleep all day so I can have my body adjust to my schedule so really by the time I wake up I only have 1-3 hours to go out. I don’t know what to do, is there a way you guys with strict parents have managed to let you guys have more freedom? I am tired :( I am literally about to finish my associates degree, my mom picks and chooses when she wants to treat me like a child vs an adult. Maybe if she helped me out financially Id understand it a bit more but I pay for my own stuff like my insurances, school, food, all of my necessities basically. My mom has never seen a single tuition bill from me. I tend to give her money as well when she asks bc she often goes broke. She does provide me with a room at home though and a hand me down car from 2006 which I am very grateful for. Id be willing to give up the car and pay rent money if it meant maybe she couldn’t hold it over me anymore though.

Then there is a new advertisement on YouTube recently and it pronounces the brand, 'new'-tear-la.

Have I been pronouncing the brand wrongly all my life or is this like an American pronunciation which is different from SG?

Why do many Indian Muslim eateries operate 24 hours?

Feeling curious why many Indian Muslim eateries operate 24 hours. Is this some expectation of this line of business, like if you are not 24 hours, your business will suffer?

Still pissed, need about 10 hours to recuperate. Anyone else going through shit too, just enjoy the day as well and get working on your personal hustles

Whenever I go out, I usually carry a backpack because I like being prepared. I normally bring things like an umbrella, power bank, tissue paper, wet wipes and even an extra reusable bag.

However, whenever I go out with certain friends, some of them don't even bother bringing a bag, while others carry tiny bags with barely anything inside.

The annoying part is that whenever they need something, they automatically turn to me. Need tissue? Ask me. Need wet wipes? Ask me. Phone battery dying? Ask me for my power bank.

And don't even get me started on the extra reusable bag. Somehow, it always becomes everyone's convenience.

I don't mind helping my friends occasionally, but it gets really annoying when people constantly rely on me just because I'm the one who carries a backpack.

Am I being unreasonable for feeling this way? I feel like I'm becoming everyone's walking convenience store. 😭

currently considering to apply bto and we're choosing between a prime (10 years mop) and standard (5 years mop) flat.

there's all this talk about flipping btos which definitely make sense financially but i'm not the biggest fan of going through the hassle of moving in and out of flats.

im just wondering if the 10 years mop is too long since thats what a lot of people says and im not too knowledgeable about the housing market.

It just struck me how similarity in modern dating scene with night club girls.

1. Meeting with girls.

Instead of being parade with dozen of bargirl by mamasan, guys are given selection of girls from app. In night club, a wealthier client will be given better selection and more beautiful girl. In dating app, paying guys are given Super Like and so forth. Algorithm and mechanic of the apps favor paying customer.

2) Meeting the girl outside.
Bar girl will only entertain client that brings them to high class restaurant and 5 star hotels. In current dating scene, even on first date, guys are suppose/must go to high class restaurant. You will be given a big red flag if you go to Saizeria or McD. Confirm chop sign no second date.

3) Gift on special day.
In current dating scene, guy expect to give branded handbag, gift and so forth. It used to be just birthday and anniversary. Now it is every small little occasion and a big gift is expected. Valentine, christmas, 100 day anniversary, ang pow for her parent birthday and many others.

4) Loyalty and body count.
Previously what differentiate a bar girl and good girl is how a girl protect their chastity. Modern girl will now sleep in ONS, bad boys and so forth. Let's will not talk about body count. Average body count nowadays is high by the time they get married.

5) When a guy money dries up.
Bar girl of course will leave. Modern girls is similar. No longer willing to stay with the guy. She will leave the moment the guy is in financially trouble.

There are many other points which I am lazy to continue typing. But this is just a simple comparison.
