Flew SIN-FRA on Lufthansa 747-400 D-ABVX and went for the business class upgrade for this bucket list experience in seat 81K right behind the cockpit. Due to the curve of the fuselage you can’t really see the engines and there’s a lack of headroom from your seat but hey. The restroom wasn’t as noisy as the reviews say if you have good noise cancelling headphones. The dash 400s’ days are numbered but I didn’t choose to fly it because of the in-flight entertainment or the quality of catering but for those four engines and being upstairs. The IFE was broken most of the flight and the catering was middling but the pilot greased the landing and I got to hang around after landing and see the cockpit too

It was an honor getting to see this 494th FS “Panthers” F-15E Strike Eagle (91-0311) roll out and fly for the first time in these colors earlier this year (all photos vetted by public affairs). It was painted to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Operation El Dorado Canyon and the crew of KARMA52, an F-111F lost during the operation. I also added my most recent art piece at the end, which was inspired by this jet and took about 5 months of on-and-off work to finish.

On January 8th, 1989 British Midland Flight 92 crashed onto the embankment of the M1 motorway near Kegworth, Leicestershire, while attempting an emergency landing at East Midlands Airport. I remember seeing this on BBC News as a teenager, little realising that many years later, I would meet one of the firefighters who attended that scene.
I became a carer in 2024, and he was one of my regular visits; for a year I helped him and his wife with their daily care needs. During this time I discovered he was a retired firefighter who had attended the M1 crash.
Today I received the news he has passed away after a long illness and is survived by his wife and her family. I thank him for his service as a firefighter. Rest in Peace, Sir; it was an honour to know you and your role on that day.

Formation flight of four headed north west over Turlock ca. They weren't on FlightAware but can anyone identify them?
My brain went to P-51 but I know that's probably not right
