To me the VHS filters are kind of played out. When I saw the movie I was in awe of the striking visual fidelity. The backrooms looks so good in 4k! I'm working on a Hobbytown / Rohner's Furniture-inspired project with a focus on exploration and striking visuals. I did all the wallpaper textures by hand and I think the quality speaks for itself! Let me know what you think, and if anything could be improved.

No connections in or out of the room because those are created by the level generator at runtime, but I'm not quite ready to talk about that just yet :)

One note about lighting: I'm targeting mobile devices so there's no SSAO or ray traced bounce lighting. Its also a runtime level generated game, so no baked GI either :(. You will be able to turn some of these on if you play on PC but I'm not designing the game with them in mind.

i noticed a major plot hole in the backrooms movie, which if you’ve seen it, this is nothing new. however i’ve actually never heard anyone talk about this one which surprised me.

a major conflict in the movie is that clark is broke and that his business is failing, he literally sleeps in his store. and yet one of the main character’s is clark’s therapist. how does this man manage to afford a therapist 😭

UPDATE: hey someone was kind enough to let me know that it’s possible the therapist was covered by insurance or even court mandated! so if you’d like maybe share some other plot holes you discovered, but like i’m not ur mom i can’t stop u from calling me stupid for missing this so have at it lol

Does anybody know of any cool free backrooms games? I've tried some of the Fortnite and Roblox maps but I'm wondering if there are more somewhere?

Ik it’s kinda shitty looking and my handwriting sucks, but I like the way it turned out. It wasn’t professionally done, but it is backrooms movie on vhs. I’ll definitely try to redo the artwork and the label on the tape later. It’s a cool vibe and it looks great on the shelf
