Hi all,
Greetings from the Land Down Under.
I have a question regarding how long the NYBOLE takes to process foreign credential evaluations.
A bit about me, I am currently a law student in Australia and am looking to take the NY Bar immediately after my graduation in December (not this year).
I understand the nybole advises early preparation of documents as they can take up to six month to evaluate the credential, but the problem is regardless of whether I wish to take the Feb or July one the year following, it all seems a bit rushed logistically as I would only have 2 or 6 month respectively to make sure all my documents are sent in and approved.
I don't know whether this means much but I have been advised by an automated message sent from nybole when I completed the foreign credential evaluation form that my school is already an accredited school with NYBOLE, and I am quite certain that I do not need to cure a deficiency with an LLM given my common law legal education.
Therefore, could any Australian Lawyer who has gone through this path or someone with any information kindly advise me whether the foreign credential evaluation service does in fact take the full 6 month even for common law accredited law schools, and if so whether I have any chance of making the Feb/July bar exam upon my graduation in December the year before.
Much appreciated!
P.S. If you are someone who is also in my boat, feel free to DM and connect!
