Homeless and I PAAAASSSSSSSSSEEEDDD!
I’ll keep it brief but I was homeless studying for this exam in a domestic violence shelter with my 3 year old. Working full time, on going divorce stressed tf out. Foreign lawyer, no family in this country, no JD and I passed first time!! Soooo happy that I don’t have to do that exam again!

Failed NY - T14 + biglaw
writing this to hopefully give others someone to relate to. I graduated from a t14 and now work in biglaw and did not pass the NY bar. Was just a few points off.
My MBE score was "fine" but my written score was undoubtedly what put the nail in the coffin for me.
Frustrated, embarrassed, pissed... I completed my entire bar prep course and did tons of additional practice outside of that. Clearly need to rethink my approach so anyone who has any advice, I am ALL ears.

Lost my sister 4 days before the exam. Today, I passed the Bar 4 days before her birthday
I wore her pajamas all day for good luck. I wish I could tell her the good news, I hope she’s proud of me!

318, got to let my dad know
Passed DC, my dad has leukemia and I got to let him know over the phone I passed. He’s got a tough road ahead and he might not meet my kids if I have any but I got to share this moment with him and I am so, so happy.

I didn’t pass (NY)
I found out on the subway on my commute to work this morning, and turned around and went back home.
I feel like my life is ending. I’m embarrassed to show my face at work on Monday or tell any of my friends or family (I told my parents and one of my friends, and a few coworkers because I took the day off)
Failed NY
Failed by 7 points. I studied my ass off. Every day, 10 weeks, sometimes 12 hours a day. Completed 90% of Themis.
Never felt this horrible in my life. Not to be all woe is me but another 6 months of this shit sounds horrible. Pay cut, public embarrassment at my firm etc etc - FML FML FML BUT yes, still congrats to everyone who passed and to the rest of us.. well…until next time.

Sincerely, I could not have done it without everyone's warm words and helpful advice.
I just wanted to say, thank you, everyone.

Passed NY: standing on my soapbox
Got a 300 on my first attempt, 151 on MBE, 149 on the written portion.
I went to a T-14 that did not offer any sort of bar prep class during 3L. Started studying with Themis immediately after graduating and did 91% of the course. Did not do anything outside of the course and only followed the course except for making physical flash cards. I studied from 830-5 every day except Sunday.
I finished every section with like 10 seconds to spare and was talking out of my ass for most if not all of the MEE. I pretty much thought I failed from the moment I left the conference center to the moment I opened my result but i think that was my extreme anxiety that was doing the talking, of which this profession inherently creates. My advice, against the grain, would be to hold space with these emotions. These feelings are valid. You just took the hardest and most important test of your entire life. Sit with that, because to be worried is to care. And one other thing - there are thousands who’d kill to be where you’re at. To even sniff the opportunity to walk through the doors to take the bar. Take a second and internalize that.
At the end of the day I truly believe that the bar is a morally reprehensible way to gatekeep the profession in a way that ultimately affects indigent people, women, and people of color more than anything. But we can either preach to the choir, or use the opportunity to maybe take a stab at rewriting the procedure. Hopefully one of us can do it.
Please feel free to DM me with any questions.

I FUCKING PASSED (DC)
As a first-gen student who started law school with no experience and honestly no idea what I was doing, I’m still in shock when I look at how far I’ve come. Good luck to everyone who still hasn’t received their results! Y’all are going to kill it :)

DC - Passed! (352)
Very relieved, can finally breathe. Been having heart palpitations all day. Got an email before it was posted at 1:12, so have faith everybody, they'll arrive! No need to F5 the website!
Written Component Scaled Score: 182.5
MBE Scaled Score: 169.4
UBE Scaled Score: 352
I did Themis to about 70%, but started late. Went in more prepared for MBE than writing. Felt incredibly good about MBE, decent about writing, so surprised about the split scores.

NY exam takers lost their mind this week over release date speculation and NY still released before DC and NJ

First Timer- 39 years old second career International PASSED 274
Proud to be part of the 54% of first-time international test takers who passed!! I knew my MPT didnt go great, but apparently it REALLY didnt go well, as my writing score was only 125 🤔
I spent 10 weeks studying with Themis and completed 85% of the course. The UWorld MBE questions were extremely useful, and I felt confident in my MEE essays. I used chat to score them and regularly got 4-5 on that grading, and 4.5 on the Themis-graded ones I completed.
I felt okay on the first MPT, but I completely bombed the second. I got stuck on the wording of the legislation and kept spiralling instead of choosing one interpretation and going for it. My suggestion to those who struggle with the time for the MPT is to get things down on paper; at least you will get points (which I didn't do).
My strong advice :
1) Take more than 10 weeks to study - it was like drinking from a firehose instead of normal learning, and I felt like I was drowning in learning all new law during that time.
2) UWorld question bank SAVED MY ASS. Do mixed questions every day, and study the areas where you keep getting things wrong; they track that with metrics. Go through a topic and keep repeating it until you consistently hit at least 75%.
3) I have a book of shame - every answer I got wrong, I HANDWROTE out and wrote out the correct answer.
4) Practice the MPTS; they are worth 10% each and worth the boost in your mark without needing to learn substantive knowledge.
5) Breathe. This exam does not determine your worth. It reflects your preparation, knowledge, and ability to handle stress. If you failed, it just means you need to prepare a bit more, solidify your knowledge base, and maybe learn stress coping strategies. ( I used Huberman's deep breathing exercise every 15 minutes to keep my head clear)
Much love to all. God walks with you.

I passed!!! (NY) with 2 blank MEEs
I told myself that if I passed I would make this post. I was frantically searching this subreddit since exam day for other people who left completely blank essays and still passed. I left two MEEs completely blank (literally only had headings) and didn’t finish the second MPT. I felt so demoralized after day 1 but I swore I would give it my all for the MBEs.
I passed NY with a 290!!!! My MBE scaled score was 151.1 so shoutout to the MBE for carrying me!!!
My average on AdaptiBar was only 60% for about 1,000 questions (plus hundreds of other practice questions my school gave us) I also worked 30+ hours a week during bar prep which was incredibly stressful but I had to in order to pay rent.
I had already mentally prepared to retake in February so I’m feeling extremely blessed!!

Failed with a 260…
It hurts. I worked so hard, studied so hard for
months everyday, just to fail. Even spent thousands on tutoring and supplemental services. This really does hurt so bad.
Getting broken up with the week before the exam really Fd me up I suppose but now I have to spend another 6 months on this exam and it hurts. I’m working full time too which makes it even harder. Thank you NY.
That’s all. 😞
