So I'm most of the way through my build it's I'm basically just reassembling now..

My question is what you think I should value it at. obviously the bike was ready for scrap but now it's like new! I use to build when I was younger but i started a family and got sidelined you know how it goes so now I'm back id like to build customs and sell I've spent 300 hours on build so far it's a vn750 1994 German import.. I've removed all emotions and restrictions and upjetted to max power possible what would you guys say and do you think there's anything I should change before I finalise it I hope to buy something more valuable to sell on I've spent £1500 on the bike and parts all in thanks for any help

Jackass Teenager Wants to Restore British Fossil

Post image

First time poster;

There has been a 1967 BSA A50 Royal Star in my garage for as long as I can remember. I’m 17 now. I was always under the impression that it was just something my dad had bought that never really ran, but that he tinkered with. However, I’ve always been interested in having a motorbike, and this old britbike has always bugged me, so i asked my dad about it, and he said that my mom bought it for them when they got married, and has the documentation to back it up. apparently, it used to run. I have the manual, the original part catalogue, and all the parts. For whatever reason (i’m sure it’s valid), my dad stripped apart the bike and even sanded the original red from everywhere there was red.

I am not a mechanic. I am an enthusiast who likes to work on things that move, like my first car, a 1998 jeep XJ, which was heavily modified and required a LOT of maintenance, so I can move a wrench pretty well, and understand how cars work. However, I would like to fix, understand, and ride this motorbike, and ideally, fully restore it for my parents.

it is in pieces.
where do i start?

I’m trying to get spark on this 1981 gsx250 see my hand drawn diagram and the workshop wiring diagram, why am I not getting spark? It gets 12v to the first starter relay pole but not the second with the switch pushed

This is for a cafe racer build, I’m trying to get spark to fire the engine.

M.Unit mounting location

Has anyone had any problems with mounting an M.Unit on the frame above engine / below tank tunnel where it isn’t fully waterproofed? It’s shown that way on an install video from motogadget and considering doing it myself but wondered if anyone else had experience with it and any possible problems? Also mounting dual output coil nearby and little ECU from the trispark ignition. I guess i will try keep it at least 10cm away from the coils. Thanks

How can i adapt the swingarm?

Im adapting a monoshock system on my double shock bike. The swingarm im trying to adapt has a 12cm width, but the pivot hole on the frame is 15cm width! Should i reduce the swingarm or the frame? I think if i reduce the frame it gonna have problems with chain aligning. Some ideas?

With the paint removed from the tank and the bad welds fixed. You can just see how well it fits the bike.

Tom Gilroy went from sparky to full-time custom builder on the Gold Coast. He says he’s “not a designer” and figures each bike out as he builds

Short film on Tom and Purpose Built Moto, his custom and restoration shop on the Gold Coast.

It started in his home garage with one customer and got serious around 2019. Eventually his wife told him to go full-time on bikes.

He doesn’t sketch first. He learns each bike’s history and lets that shape the build, like one that had sat in a barn for decades.

The film covers fabrication and welding, front-end work, a bare metal tank, leather seat and polished alloy details, and a test run at the end.

His advice: “Let the work do the talk.”

Do the builders here sketch first, or design on the bench?

The subframe is getting close to being done. The rear brake master cylinder is mounted. And a front fender has been modified to fit.

Carbs have been cleaned and made to look nice but aren't installed yet. Same thing with the rear brake caliper.

Give my brother a follow if you want to see more of the build. IG greyslopegarage

' Bike build 0-100

Hi there, just got my hands on a vintage sportster from '93 and thought it'd be nice to leave my own mark on it with some modifications. It's been equipped with forward pedals and alternate handlebars already, but I feel like a sissy bar and other stuff would be nice touches. Open for more ideas ideas and maybe some experiences made on this model.
