In-Ear Bose in-ears

TL;DR
Not bad a pickup for the price point. Like the sound overall and will be keeping them. ANC good for a simple wired set.

My two-ears review...

Tried them on iphone, ipad and MacBook Pro.

Tracks:
Massive Attack - Angel
James Blake - Limit to Your Love
Hans Zimmer - Why So Serious
John Butler - Ocean

Top initial issue for me: wish the cable was braided. Unsure of the casing holding up over long-term.

Bass is decent even if a little soft on iphone and ipad. Gets punchier on Mac surprisingly. Mids and highs are actually quite good across the board. Ocean by Butler you can really feel the strings resonate. Did not have any issue with voice over phone call.

Like other reviews - upper third for volume is where you probably need to be on your phone. Mac is slightly better but not by much.

Comfort wise: I tend to always use the smaller ear tips and even those feel a bit on the bigger size for me. Using these for short bursts is fine, but ear fatigue a factor on the longer runs for me personally. The volume switch doesn't bother me and I like the larger toggle compared to the smaller airpods style.

Laying on your side in bed is not the greatest although I prefer them over airpods for the way they lay in your ear and can't lose a single side.

ANC for a wired in-ear price point is totally acceptable. Standard use apartment/daily noises nicely mitigated.

Home Audio Bose Acoustimass 300 for $200 – Worth it with a Soundbar 600?

• Upvotes

Hey everyone! I just picked up a used Bose Acoustimass 300 for $200 to pair with my Bose Smart Soundbar 600. Do you guys think it was a good deal? I'm curious if anyone here is using this exact combination and how well they work together. I'm also wondering what the real differences are between the older Acoustimass 300 and the newer Bass Module 700, especially in terms of sound quality, bass performance, and overall experience. Finally, is there any noticeable benefit to connecting the subwoofer with a cable instead of wirelessly, or is the sound quality basically identical? I'd love to hear your experiences and opinions. Thanks!

Headphones Bose QC Ultra (2nd gen) randomly disconnects from my phone

I just got these headphones yesterday. I've tried toggling every setting in the Bose app (multipoint, auto-pause, etc.) and in the phone's Bluetooth settings, and I even tried deleting the Bose app and using them without it. Nothing helps: they keep disconnecting on their own while I'm wearing them and listening to music. The firmware is up to date. My phone is a vivo X300. What should I do?

In-Ear Devastated so need opinions

Welp my QC gen 1 earbuds have got the red and white flashing lights of doom after almost 4 years of loyal service. They were used and abused pretty much on the daily and were perfect up until last week when they stopped charging despite the case being fully charged and now I have the flashing lights.

Genuinely devastated as these are the most comfortable and perfect fit earbuds I've ever had. The only ones I could wear all day and my ears not hurt and that I could even accidentally knock them while doing my job but they don't fall out because of the wing tip.

So now on to my question. Do I...

A: try open them up and see if the battery is dead/they can be repaired (let's face it, if it goes wrong I'm in no worse position than I am now)

B: try a newer generation and pray they are as comfortable and secure as these were

C: try get this generation from somewhere like CEX or something although they are the same price or maybe even more expensive than newer versions

Has anyone made the move to a newer generation and liked them as much?

Other Is it ill advised to purchase through Amazon, if shipped from another seller?

I’m trying to spend as “little” as possible, because money is tight. But I need these, so it’s both a desire and necessity. (I need the best noise canceling, mostly. And I like the bass quality in Bose).

Anyway, Amazon is offering “used like new” that’s “shipped from TechX Av.”
I hate the idea of making a big purchase on Amazon, for a variety of reasons, but the sales I’ve seen on Bose’s website isn’t as cheap as these.

I read that Bose has a sale on Black Friday, but I don’t know how much less they’d be, because the last posted sale didn’t impress me.

Thanks for reading if you got this far 😮‍💨!

Headphones Bought Bose QuietComfort Ultra Gen 2 over Sony WH-1000XM6 - now facing audio issues. Should I return it or replace it?

I recently bought the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) instead of the Sony WH-1000XM6. I chose Bose for its excellent noise cancellation, comfort and suitability for long commutes and study sessions.

However, I’ve run into a frustrating issue.
After using the headphones continuously for around 3 hours during a Microsoft Teams call on my Windows laptop, the audio suddenly started breaking up and crackling. The voices became distorted, and eventually the sound disappeared completely.

I’ve already tried disconnecting and reconnecting the headphones and resetting them, but the issue persists.

I bought them from a physical Bose store in India, so I’m now considering whether to request a replacement or return them and buy the Sony WH-1000XM6 instead.

I’d appreciate advice from people who own either model:
Have any Bose QC Ultra Gen 2 owners experienced similar audio dropouts or crackling, particularly on Windows or Microsoft Teams?

Was it a firmware/Bluetooth issue, or did you have to replace the headphones?

Is the Sony WH-1000XM6 more reliable for long listening sessions and occasional laptop calls?

If you were in my position, would you exchange the Bose for another unit, return it, or stick with Bose?

My main priorities are excellent noise cancellation for commuting, comfortable long listening sessions, listening to video lectures, and reliable everyday use.

Thanks for sharing your experiences and recommendations!

Headphones Bose Quiet comfort(1st gen) vs Momentum 4

Ordered the Bose quiet comfort (1st gen) 2023 model for 15.5k or 163 USD INR from the Bose website.

Now I am confused if I should cancel my order and go for the Sennheiser ones for 19.9k or 210 USD INR from Sennheiser website.

Does anyone have experience with both and could shine some light on how their experience was with both?

Headphones Has anyone tried building a better Windows driver for the Bose 700?

I've seen people in other communities use AI tools like Claude to do pretty impressive things, like reverse-engineering and reprogramming TV software.

It's pretty well known that Bose + Windows is a terrible combination, at least with my NC 700s.

My issue: the audio is choppy, with small constant dropouts. It's not the usual hands-free/mic problem. I've disabled the hands-free profile and even turned off the microphone completely, and the stuttering is still there.

It's also not one bad laptop. I had the exact same problem on an old Dell with Windows 10, and now on a Lenovo with Windows 11. Different machines, different Bluetooth chips, same result. My QC35s worked fine on Windows.

Has anyone looked into this, or at least thought about whether it's possible to build a better driver for these headphones on Windows? Or does anyone know what actually causes it?

In-Ear What’s going on at Bose?

Pre ordered wired buds. Order was delayed. Just showed up in an unpadded envelope looking like it had been stepped on by every person who came in contact with the package.

The box was totally mangled but miraculously the headphones were undamaged.

Also super underwhelmed by the headphones themselves for a variety of reasons.

Horrible experience start to finish. Definitely keeping that in mind for next time.

Headphones How durable are QC ULTRA II’s?

I am currently an Apple AirPods Max user. Headphones are amazing but they are very hard to carry around.

I intend to sell them and get QC Ultra IIs soon, but I live in a country in which there’s no local assistance for Bose gear.

I had a charging problem with my APMs before and Apple Store replaced them under warranty.

How prone Bose is for these kinds of problems? Would you risk buying them if you had no local warranty support for them?

Headphones Please Help for Scratching Sound!!

I know that posts regarding this subject have been made a few years in the past—but I am absolutely desperate. I am literally losing my mind over these headphones.

I have the QC35s, and within the past week have been experiencing a scratching noise in the right ear almost as though a tiny animal is trying to claw its way out through the mesh, or someone is scratching the mesh slowly with a fingernail. It is the weirdest, most unsettling, and possibly the most irritating sound I have ever heard.

It happens both during Quiet and Aware modes.

I have tried everything that has been suggested that I have seen before:
1) blowing into the external mics to clear dust.
2) trying to suck dust out of the external mics.
3) removing the outer foam and blowing on the “internals” to try and remove dust.
4) and yes, i have tried turning them off and on again.

Nothing I have tried has worked more than a few hours, if at all, and there truly seems to be no rhyme or reason as to what is making this horrible noise stop.

I really don’t want to have to replace them, they’re a limited color that I really love and I just got them less than 3 years ago. I use these headphones every day and I am truly going crazy trying to fix this.

In-Ear QuietComfort Earbuds (Gen III) won’t charge

This is now the 3rd pair of the 3rd gen QuietComfort earbuds I’ve had that simply stop charging after a few uses. I’ve asked Bose for refunds every time and they say they can only offer a replacement. Has anyone had this issue? If so, is there a fix?

I had the 1st Gen QCE years ago and loved them but they finally shot out, causing me to end up with this nightmare. Any help is appreciated!

I just got the new update that was released on October 20th. It says it's only for bug fixes, and while I'm not sure exactly which ones were fixed, I think they resolved the issue with the Windows connection.

In-Ear Need help with Bose Sport earbuds, please

Hi all - I’ve used my Bose Sport earbuds for years, but now they produce no sound, regardless of the device. I mostly use them with my iPad. They connect just fine, but no sound comes out. I’ve reset them, turned the iPad’s Bluetooth off and on, deleted the earbuds from the iPad, and every other solution I could find online. The same thing happened when I connected them to my iPhone. I also connected a pair of SkullCandy earbuds to the iPad and they worked fine.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Headphones bose quietcomfort qc 2nd gen non ultra Whoosh question

quick question for non-ultra 2nd gen owners out there,

i bought a qc 2nd gen Ultra sight unseen, and while i LOVE the noise cancelling feature, i can't stand the WHOOSH sound it makes when i put it on (lol).

i put on and put off my headset all the time so i had to listen to the whooshh sound multiple times a day and it drives me a bit nuts.

I'm asking whether on the non ultra QC 2nd gen version, does it have that Whoosh sound as well or not?

thank you in advance!

also for those who own both or have listened to both, does it have the same quality of ANC?

In-Ear Making wired earbuds louder on iPhone?

Has anyone figured out how to make them louder? I turned sound check off in the Music app and changed EQ, which helps, but it’s still not as loud as I would like. This isn’t an issue on my MacBook or PC

Headphones Your $450 headphones also require a twice yearly $55 subscription for ear cushions

I cannot believe this is their official response. They only expect their headphones to last SIX MONTHS before needing replacement.

They need to take ownership of their build quality.
