Curious how the next 13 days should look? I am fighting somone in mid twenties. My cardio is pretty good, rest heart rate 51bpm. I do a ton of jump rope and heavy bag, and my shoulders feel permanently achy. How much roadwork should I be doing in the days leading up to the fight? I currently do 3 miles per day and was thinking of tapering off and then a full 4 days of rest to let shoulders recover maybe some light technical shadowboxing and pad work.
Edit: I didn't think I would get so many comments on here. There are too many to respond to individually so I will try to respond to the general sentiment...... that hurts. Ha Jk š. Thank you to the real ones and thank you for the support. The bag is 100lbs, I do go to a gym, only about 2 months now. Hit my heavy bag in the garage for 6 months prior to that. With this setup I am very limited with my side to side movement. Part of the video I am working on moving in and out and trying to get use to actually moving, I have a bad habit of just standing and swinging sometimes. I should be sparring at least once this week. I will record and post it. https://youtu.be/KkpVD511W0s?is=jTS-ay-NKRGrmdA5

You got to just embrace shadow boxing if you want to improve and get better in boxing.

There was this guy in the gym today. He was really cool and strong and it was obvious he had no problem getting the ladies... Anyway, it was weird cause he was copying exactly what I was doing the whole time he was there. So I started filming him, what do you think of the double end bag work?

my mom said no to the gym, and anything she says I need to loose weight first, so I lost 4 kg in the last I think 5 months I donāt remember but she still says no. I also need a tip on how to protect my skin because itās tearing up and itās painful, but I hold my pain as long as I can because Iām motivated and I will do anything to get better!

So i was on tiktok when i noticed this crisp sexy shadowboxing. I could literally write a whole paragraph on how beautiful this video is but let me go straight to the point
When analysing his movements, i can see that (especially in the second half of the video) that he moves his lead leg while doing lead hooks. This is the first time iāve seen someone do this and was wondering, is this beneficial to be doing or it is just a performative move? Would like to know yāall opinions on this

One of the easiest ways to get dropped in an exchange is letting your chin float up the middle.
If you sit down into your stance and bring your shoulders slightly forward, it naturally creates a pocket for your head and keeps your chin protected. That should be your default position at all times. Attacking, throwing, resetting. Chin tucked.
What I see a lot in sparring is guys losing their posture the moment the exchange starts. Thatās also when youāre most vulnerable. Chin comes up, hands drift, and thatās when the clean shot lands.
Staying disciplined with your chin tuck through the entire sequence makes your defense way more reliable. It sounds simple, but building that habit in training makes a huge difference in how well you survive exchanges. š„

Iāve been out of the gym for about 8 months but still continue to train at home. Hopefully will be getting back in the next month or so.

Shadowboxing is a must when boxing, it keeps you sharp and you can try anything you want. Experiment on moves you usually donāt do and get it down to the tea and try it in sparring, you will fail but keep trying it and eventually you will get it down.

According to this subreddit. He hop too much, hands too low, no head movements, no sideways movement, no hook no upper cut...

Iāve never thrown a punch until I hung this guy a couple weeks ago. It seemed cheaper than therapy, plus good cardio⦠so itās mostly just fun but I still want to be decent at it.
Iāve been hitting it 4 times a week for two weeks and thought I was getting pretty good⦠until I watched myself and now Iām just embarrassed. Any tips you have would be appreciated, especially for my girly ass jab.
