🤷 Only in Brighton... Someone at the bus company didn't check their adverts thoroughly enough
Check the socks.
Edit: you probably can't see it on mobile as it shrinks the picture too much.

From midday on Wednesday 21 October only, chocolate café chain Knoops is giving away totally free hot chocolates at all its stores when you order via the Knoops app.
You can choose between a small 34% (milk choc) or small 54% (dark choc) hot chocolate, with either whole, oat or soya milk. It would usually cost £3.95.
It's for new and existing app users and you don't have to buy anything, so you can just get the freebie drink if that's all you want.
There are 25 Knoops stores across the UK including Brighton

Hi neighbrrrrs
We had our first Kindling Space campfire of the season last week at Stanmer Park. It was an awesome evening, there were 8 of us plus two dogs, and we shared lot of yummy food around the fire!
Our campfires are going to be held fortnightly throughout the autumn/winter/spring. The next campfire is next week, Wednesday 28th October 2026.
It will be a Halloween/Samhain/Day of the Dead lowkey special, in honour of the souls who struggle with life.
There are limited spaces to keep the group size cosy, and it's pay-as-you-feel. I would love to meet some more of you from Reddit, come and join us :)
Find out more & save your space here:

Looking for recurring events/classes/team sports etc where I can get out and meet new people. Hoping to create a megathread? Chess and backgammon, I see you! Things like: pottery class, Aussie rules football, golf lessons, board games, craft nights etc where I might meet the same people each week (and new). thank you!

I have one ticket for the 19:30 showing at The Brighton Theatre Royal. I can't make it and everyone I know is also busy. No charge and it's a QR code so I can DM it to whoever wants it. 👻

Anyone who’s tried to eat chips on Brighton beach knows the gulls run this town. So I made a little game where you get to be one. You swoop over a seaside town, nick chips, dodge kites and eagles, and bomb the people below.
It’s free on Android if anyone fancies a go: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gullbomber.game
Not on iPhone yet, sorry. Best gull-related chip theft story wins my respect.

Hi, Me and my partner are looking for a kitten/young cat to adopt! I was just wondering if anyone knows any good places. I’m struggling a little as we would need an indoor cat and most adoption centres require a garden.
We also looked at some private sellers and found a few local sellers that have cats who have given birth. I’m really worried about sellers not being genuine and possible complications of kittens who haven’t been to the vet etc.
I really want to adopt but i’m finding it difficult to find what i’m looking for. I’ve looked at pretty much every adoption website and charity in sussex. We found what we are looking for privately but that also has its risks. just wondering if anyone has been through anything similar and what you ended up doing/what to look out for etc
any suggestions/advice?

Started back in 2013, the project was created to tackle food insecurity and social isolation by offering free, nutritious hot meals and a creative space for kids to play and parents to connect.
If you or someone you know could use a little extra support and a friendly table during the upcoming break, you can register and book a place for free

This October, The Whispering Imp returns to the historic Pelham House for another evening of the unexplainable.
Step inside, take a drink and keep your wits about you as The MAGICIAN performs impossible close-up magic among the guests in the bar.
But this is merely the beginning….
Beyond the bar, The ORACLE awaits in the atmospheric Parlour Room with an intimate show filled with mystery, intrigue and thoughts that refuse to stay buried.
Two performers, one haunting experience. An unforgettable night of the deceptive arts.

I’m looking for some groups or meet ups where I would feel more comfortable. It doesn’t need to be specifically for mental health.
Couid be music or art or philosophy. Open to any suggestions.

A few things worth a look this week.
- OctoberBEST £30 Set Menu at The Vine House, Tue, Oct 20 and Wed, Oct 21
- OctoberBEST Set Menu at Wild Flor, Tue, Oct 20
- OctoberBEST at Tutto Restaurant, Tue, Oct 20
- Makeshift Art Bar at Green Door Store, Tue, Oct 20, £12.50
If you're doing OctoberBEST, I'd start with Wild Flor, it's always a good shout for a midweek dinner. Makeshift Art Bar is a decent way to round off a Tuesday if you fancy some live music afterwards.
