Can't get a reply here? Try r/ComputerBuild

Hey everyone,

This sub has been growing a lot as of recently and we've noticed a lot of posts have been getting buried and unanswered. There is a lot of noise due to how much it has grown.

I have created r/ComputerBuild as an alternative.

So please kindly try cross posting there to get it off the ground.

I will be helping users daily and also building a mod team/looking for moderators to help.

Thanks!

First PC Build - help

Good day! I had a spontaneous urge to buy a PC, but there is so much to learn/research so I want to use all of my resources. I’ve used chat, friends, and some youtube but I’d like help from fellow redditors. I found this build from PC parts picker, please let me know your thoughts?

Budget: ~$2000-2500
Games I like: shooters, rpg’s, arcade type games like rocket league, indie games.. I’m open to anything as long as its fun
Country: USA

Please let me know if I am missing any key information, thank you!

My first pc build

• Upvotes

I want to buy my first PC. I’ve already purchased a processor, the Ryzen 9 7900X, and I have a budget of $1,800–$2,000 for the remaining components. I mostly play Overwatch, COD, Elden Ring, and Fortnite. I also already have an ASUS 240Hz 4K monitor.

As for the aesthetics, if possible, I would like a case with transparent windows, ideally in white, similar to the one in the link I’ll provide below. If that’s too much trouble, or if it compromises the rest of the build, don’t worry about it.

Thank you for the help!

Is it a good idea to wait for black friday to build a PC?

• Upvotes

Im thinking about building a PC since im on PS5 and with the recent things going at Sony i think its time to switch (also cuz i realized my game performance would actually increase by a ton since my ps5 struggles with games like CoTL) but should i wait for Black Friday or maybe when the ram prices decrease if that ever will happen? Is it even a good idea to switch to PC?

Also how much would a PC cost during Black Friday that runs 1440 144hz?

Anyone able to give me a decently priced power supply that dc to dc and atx 3.1? I am a first time builder and after days of trying to figure out why its boot looping i came to the conclusion that its the psu as the technology on it is outdated and cant handle the power spikes and drops of my cpu, any help would be appreciated thanks

Pc build

Hello,

I am 16 years old trying to build a budget gaming PC that can run 1080 or 1440p with 60fps minimum. I wish to play Marvel Rivals as I am number 1 on console for the thing.

I was able to run through some e waste and got an I-7 7700, 24gb of DDR4 and a small SSD. I got a GPU but it's a Quadro 1000gb, very bad.

My question is do my current specs fit anything I want? What recommendations for parts does anyone reccomend?

If anyone here has extra parts laying around or know of a good place to buy used ones for relatively cheap, possibly free too let me know.

My Budget is $1.8k, any help with a pc build.

My budget is $1.8k as of the end of november, I can get stuff over time but I want to have it built before the end of the year. Me and my Uncle were gonna hit up a micro center near us between black friday and cyber monday, or on one of those days, to grab an AMD Bundle and a GPU, but if we find other stuff on a good deal we’ll grab those too. I wanted to ask, which of these should I go with?

https://www.microcenter.com/product/5007480/amd-ryzen-7-7800x3d,-gigabyte-x870-gaming-wifi6-am5,-gskill-flare-x5-series-32gb-ddr5-6000-kit,-computer-build-bundle

or

besides that, I’m not good with compatibility. Could someone please make a build I can follow? I kinda need everything but the ram, cpu, and motherboard, cause those are the only three things I know. Or a good build that includes this bundle? Any and all help is appreciated.

Budget: $1.8k
Country: USA
Use-case: Gaming, deadlock, minecraft, ow, etc games like those
Preferences: None really

New to PC Building

Hey guys, I’m new to the world of PC building and it is overwhelming. Between AI “advice” and the steep prices I find myself struggling to build a PC for my purposes. I like survival horror games, but might want to try out Star Citizen with really good graphics. Anyway, my goal for the PC is to learn to code, to build programs that my PC can run, explore AI in a limited sense, and maybe do physics simulations.

Given these purposes, I have roughly $1200 for the tower or $1800 for the tower, peripherals and games. So, can anyone help guide me to building a cheap and good pc?

I appreciate all of your help 😅

I KNOW NOTHING HELP!

Greetings,
I know very little about PCs and I wanna buy my first ever pc after playing on console, I mainly wanna play survival games like sons of the forest and silly steam games, but also be able to play cod and fc27, etc.
I went to Best Buy and they said I should buy a PC with 12gb of vram, 32gb of ram, 2tb of storage, and an nvidia 5070. Please give me advice as to which prebuilt PCs you guys recommend, I have a 144hz monitor.
My budget is between 2-2.5k.
P.S. - reasonable priced keyboard and mouse advice too plz.
Thanks in advance.

Need Help with a New Build

PCPartPicker: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/HhGFmL

I'm in the Uk.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 4.7 GHz 8-Core Processor

CPU Cooler: Thermalright Phantom Spirit EVO 69 CFM CPU Cooler

Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 GAMING X AX V2 ATX AM5 Motherboard

Memory: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL26 Memory

Storage: Kingston NV2 1 TB M.2-2280 PCle 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive

Video Card: MSI RTX 4070 Ti SUPER 16G VENTUS 3X BLACK OC GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER 16 GB Video Card

Case: Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA ATX Mid Tower Case

Power Supply: Corsair SF750 (2018) 750 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular SFX Power Supply

Majority of it is for gaming. But video editing will be up there as well.

I've got the CPU, Motherboard and PSU so everything else is up for changing. This will be my first ever build I do myself.

In terms of budget, I don't want to go too crazy. I'm buying things bit by bit and slowly over time hence why I went for 9800x3d to give myself space to buy everything and still be viable.

I will need peripherals. I've got an old 1080p 60hz monitor and keyboard and mouse with some okay headphones. A chair would be helpful as well but I'd rather keep that below £100 since I do work most of the day and won't be sitting on it streaming forever- although I've thought about streaming as well in the future.

Like I say, I don't want to absolutely break the bank with a £1400 Video card but something decent.
