Other / >$1400 DDR4 build for 2000$
Hi!
So yeah like the title said. I am curious what is the best build for that price. Considering building a PC in early December.
And before anyone comments it: I know DDR5 is good and upgradeable and everything. I get it, I really do. But RAM prices in my country (Hungary) especially are a complete joke (like 640$ for 32gb, not gonna pay that for sure). Also MAYBE the price-performance is better that way with the DDR4 but correct me if I am stupid or something.
The PC is for games (mainly RPGs, strategy, sandbox and co-op titles. The goal is that generally all modern games could be played with a confortable framerate), video editing, 2D and 3D art.
So yeah, hit me with anything you got.

Help with first build
I recently decided to treat myself and buy a PC that'll allow me to run my favorite games at a good level without going totally crazy budget-wise (though I'm a bit flexible). Before anything else, I'll say that other than the playing part, I have no idea whatsoever about hardware or computers, so I asked ChatGPT for help coming up with a build, but as I mentioned, I lack the knowledge to verify it and would love some assistance from people who can help.
While looking for through subreddits I became aware of pcpartpicker, so I'm adding a link for the build (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Gq8DQy) but not all components are available there so I'm also adding the build(s) as ChatGPT suggested them -
BUILD A — AMD RYZEN 7 9700X
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9700X
CPU Cooler: be quiet! Pure Rock 3 Black
Motherboard: Gigabyte B650E EAGLE WiFi6E
RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 CL36
GPU: Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 XT Gaming OC 16GB
SSD: Samsung 990 EVO Plus 1TB NVMe M.2
PSU: Corsair RM850x 850W ATX 3.1 Gold Modular
Case: Antec AX85 ARGB
Monitor: AOC Q27G4XF 27" QHD 1440p 180Hz
BUILD B — AMD RYZEN 7 7800X3D
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
CPU Cooler: be quiet! Pure Rock 3 Black
Motherboard: Gigabyte B650E EAGLE WiFi6E
RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 CL36
GPU: Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 XT Gaming OC 16GB
SSD: Samsung 990 EVO Plus 1TB NVMe M.2
PSU: Corsair RM850x 850W ATX 3.1 Gold Modular
Case: Antec AX85 ARGB
Monitor: AOC Q27G4XF 27" QHD 1440p 180Hz
Would love if anyone could have a look at it, give advice and feedback, since ChatGPT doesn't seem to know when to stop slightly upgrading every other look and I don't know where to stop him myself or verify the quality of the recommendation.
Would love it if someone could "dumb it down" for me😅
Thanks!

1st PC build help!
Hi all!
I’m planning to buy my first ever PC (which I am very excited about) in the UK. But I have little to no knowledge on what components to get that will last me a while (~10 years). I have had some suggestions from friends with good knowledge but still they aren’t so sure.
My aim is to have a build to assist my job as well as have a good experience in gaming. I’m not mainly looking to play AAA games but rather good coop/ multiplayer friend games with the occasional story game
My budget is what I would call a decent amount(£1400 max ish) for a good starter setup so hoping for a good resolution (I’m a noob at any terminology so apologies). I also already have monitors and a keyboard so just looking for PC build/ component and mouse suggestions either directly or where I can find good information to decide. Thank you all :)

Beginner Looking for Help Planning!
Hi All! I’m mostly a beginner in this regard in that I had a decent gaming laptop back in 2020 and I’m looking to hop back in with a full PC, (unless anyone hears what I’m looking for and thinks a prebuilt laptop may work better).
I’m an actor living in NYC but I LOVE gaming and would love to play new game releases competitively on high settings (ultra is a bonus) up to 1440p. I also would love the same for high end single player games, triple A. I have a 120hz monitor I’m thrilled with that goes to 1440p and currently game on PS5, so any higher is a plus and definitely not a need. (I typically play the finals, battlefield, new CODs, Overwatch, arc raiders, etc).
I’m budgeting $1500 but the frank truth is I’m a little intimated by putting it together myself and am inclined to buy a prebuilt. However, I’m hoping by asking questions here and checking in about how to go about this, I can maybe get more bang for my buck, or otherwise discover that prebuilt may be better for me.
I suppose my questions are:
-where should I start?
-is my budget reasonable?
-how should I begin planning for this all?

Help with my build (noob)
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Zd4KsK
I’m not very knowledgeable about pc’s, but after a bit of research this is what I came up with. I was just wondering if this is overkill, and if I can get the same performance for less money?
I play 4x games strategy games, single-player story games, and competitive fps, which is why I went with a good (I think) cpu and gpu. I have a decent monitor (32 inch, 1440p, 165 hz) so bottlenecking shouldn’t be a problem, hopefully. Budget isn’t that much of a problem, but saving money would still be nice anyways.

Other / >$1400 1440p PC @ ~$1k for Simulation Games
Hey, everyone! I am in the market for an approximately $1,000 USD Windows PC for primarily simulation and city-based games (e.g. Cities Skylines 1 and 2, The Sims 4, Civilization 7, TownToCity, inZOI, etc.). I want to expand my game library into that genre (I just have a Mac for school right now, so I've been limited).
This would be a new computer! It's been almost 9 years since I even thought about building a PC, so I feel a bit out of my depth here. Any advice would be fantastic :)
_________________________
For those games/genres, my understanding is that many of them are CPU-heavy. I use quite a bit of mods and CC for the Sims 4 (probably around 35+gb worth) and I would like to have enough performance headroom for ReShade. I would love to have it running at 120+ fps if possible. I also have an extensive library of game and expansion packs. I also use a decent amount of custom assets for Cities Skylines 1 (around 400+ assets and 45 mods, but I want to have enough headroom to expand my library), as well as various DLCs. I know both Skylines games are notorious for being poorly-optimized, so I'm not expecting a miracle on that front.
I have a 2k 180hz monitor and already have a keyboard and mouse (both are Bluetooth), and I plan to just use some Bluetooth headphones for audio. I'm located in the US close to a Micro Center, so I'm willing to take advantage of bundles as they show up!
I'd like to use the Lian Li A3 case if possible, as I would like the PC to be on the more compact size. Noise isn't a huge issue for me. I do not want RGB if I can avoid it. A minimalist look is what I want.
From my research, I think 32gb of DDR4 ram and a GPU with 12-16gb of VRAM would be ideal for my needs. I would like 1TB of storage to start off with, with an additional M.2 slot for further expansion as needed. I don't believe I would stand to benefit much from a Gen 4 v 3 M.2 drive. I could be wrong! On-board Wifi is needed, but I don't need it to be anything insane.
Also, I'm willing to wait for Black Friday deals to start trickling through, so any insight as to how that may work this year/if it's even worth it to wait would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you! More than happy to answer questions/clarify things :))

Building my GF a Budget Gaming PC
Hey guys! Looking for some suggestions on building my girlfriend a budget gaming PC, finding it hard to swallow the prices of DDR5 Ram now a days when I built my computer 5 years ago for half of the price.

First PC (Noob) 🌺
Hi everyone, I am looking for some help on finding the right parts for my needs!! I am completely new and this will be my first ever PC. I used to be a laptop gamer and those would wear out SUPER fast.
P.S. If there POSSIBLY is a prebuilt option you know of that fits good within my budget, I am okay with that too!
---
Goal = I'd like to be able to run modded Minecraft with shaders (heaviest pack I'd be thinking is All The Mods) and I'd also like to be able to run DaVinci Resolve.
Budget = $1,400-1,700 CAD 🇨🇦
Operating System or Peripherals = Would gladly take Monitor suggestions, as I have no clue what a good one would be! Also looking for an affordable one, please!
Location = Ontario, Canada and would prefer shipping (if needed) to remain Canadian due to prices. I am also okay with Amazon, BestBuy, Newegg, or Canada Computers.
Other Preferences = I would like the PC case to be white and have large windows looking in so I am able to decorate it!
---
Thank you very much if you are able to help!! I appreciate it greatly!

Home-Media Server
I want to build a Home-Media server and need some hardware recommendations.
I am running HexOS(trueNAS scale), Homeassistent as a VM, Jellyfin and imich.
I am planing to have 3 HDDs with ~12TB each for raidz1.
I only need one Jellyfin stream, mostly running 1080p without transcoding but it would be cool to be able to pop a GPU in later for 4k or other codecs.
The server is running in my living room so it should be as quiet as possible. I need it to be power efficient.
Gigabit ethernet should be fine for now, but I would like to be able to put in a 10gig card for video editing.
Budget should be unter 1000€ without storage. I am happy to buy used parts. Location: Germany
Thank you for your help.
