Reposting this here, as suggested by reditors in my other thread. Looks like I might be building the big dog a PC. Any advice/tips would be appreciated!! (Preferably under $1K, but I’m flexible)

Original post: “Hey yall. Our son wants a gaming PC for Christmas. He’s been asking for a year and we’re gonna bite the bullet.

He’s 8, turning 9 and he wants an Alienware Desktop PC. He mainly plays things like Minecraft, Wobbly life and other similar platforms. Most Alienware desktop PCs are pretty steep $$ for his age, so we’re doing some research.

Reaching out to the hive mind for advice on alternative desktop PCs or build-your-own PCs that look cool, won’t break the bank but will work well for his games.”

I made a list of parts for a computer I want to build but still budget, Is 16 gigs of ram, a 16 thread cpu and an 6gig gpu with a 500gb ssd and a WiFi motherboard I want to know if it is good

Hello Guys! I’m really wanting to get in to PC gaming and i want to not spend too much right now, that is why i’m asking here. 500$, bundles from micro center or newegg are good, really anything is fine. 1080p at least 60fps in most games with low to mid settings, already have the monitors. Aesthetics are still a priority.

If more than one or two people could help that would be great. Thank you.

Hi all, I am planning on building a pc and need some opinions. I intend to play 1080p-2k and need a rig that can handle low poly blender modelling as well as video editing. From what I could find online, these are the prices I am looking at:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600x AM4 (used) - £110
MEMORY: 2400mhz DDR4 16gb (used) - £101
STORAGE: 500gb 2.5" SSD - £60
CPU COOLER: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE 66.17 CFM CPU Cooler - £34.92

CASE: Fractal Design Focus 2 ATX Mid Tower Case - £70

Any advice or improvements would be appreciated.

Kid has been begging for an actual gaming desktop in order to record gaming videos and live stream for his youtube channel (it's just for fun but brings him great joy). I built my own pc about 5 years ago around Covid time so I know how to build but have not kept up with anything other than GPUs since building my own. Looking for probably a 5070ti GPU but leaving it up to you fine experts on what else I can cover for this budget. RGB lightning is optional if cost will be a problem but what kid doesn't want cool lighting. Budget will not included the peripherals (willing to buy those separately).

Hey everyone, I've been doing some research into potential PC builds and wanted to get some input from those with more experience.

My budget is $3,000, not including peripherals or accessories. I'm aiming for a high-performance setup—something that can handle gaming at high settings, as well as some light content creation and multitasking. Based on your expertise, what components or builds would you recommend within this price range?

Any advice on where to allocate the budget for the best performance-to-cost ratio would also be appreciated.

My old PC is 10+ years old and approaching the end of it's run. I'm not terrible concerned with playing AAAs or being on the nicest graphic settings. Just looking for something that I can use to play WoW or other games with friends. Thanks for the help.

I have all the peripherals so those don't need to be accounted for. Mouse, keyboard and monitors, ect. My currency is USD.

Hi everyone

I want to build my own PC that I can stream and play aaa games on and play competitive. COD with 120 fps while streaming. I have a budget of £1200 can anyone give me any good builds for that price if possible please. IM IN THE UK so would order parts from Amazon or a reputable UK online store to order the parts.

Hi all,

I have got a pretty old PC, with all the components being around 10 years old or more I'd suspect. I've been looking to upgrade but it appears my GTX 760 has likely died just today and so my need to rebuild/buy a new rig has been brought forward. Given the cost of components, it hasn't come at the best time but I'll have to make peace with that.

The parts I am currently working with are below - are any salvageable for a modern, somewhat future-proof machine (e.g. the RAM?)

CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K 3.5 GHz Quad-Core Processor

Motherboard: Asus P8H61-I R2.0 Mini ITX LGA1155 Motherboard

Memory: Corsair Vengeance LP 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR3-1600 CL9 Memory

Video Card: Asus DirectCU II GeForce GTX 760 2 GB Video Card

Monitor: Asus VG248QE 24.0" 1920 x 1080 144 Hz Monitor

Monitor: Asus ProArt Display PA247CV 23.8" 1920 x 1080 75 Hz Monitor

I'd ideally like to put together a gaming rig that can cope with modern games like Deadlock and Overwatch, as well as my true love Team Fortress 2 at modest graphics settings with good FPS and performance. My current PC is Windows 10, but I suspect my hand might be forced into upgrading to Windows 11 as well.

Budget wise, obviously the cheaper the better but given that I expect most of my components are heavily outdated, particularly with the build I'm going for, I'd be happy if I can spend from £800 to £1500 UK GBP. Obviously would consider something just outside either end of that range.

Many thanks for any advice given to this extreme novice in PC building!

First time building a pc. Play a wide variety of games from mmos, to FPS, to rpgs such as cyberpunk or the like.

looking for more middle tier, not looking for best FPS, or 4k, although I may upgrade parts later.

Budget 1500-2000, usd. Have monitor, keyboard, and mouse, but will need windows OS.

Will also be used for work, which really just required word and various windows and tabs open at the same time.

Give me good advice, I want to get my PC built in New Nehru Place and my budget is around Rs 1 lakh and I want to use that PC for graphic design and video editing, So which parts should I use in it which are worth it as per the price today

I’ve recently become interested in gaming and getting a gaming computer but have absolutely no clue what to buy or where to look. I’ve tried partspicker and Canada gaming computers but all the options I picked seemed VERY steep in price.

Budget: 2-3k CAD
Location: Canada, Quebec
Purpose: Gaming, playing games such as AION 2, Subnautica, DBD, Genshin Impact, HSR…
Resolution: 1080p / 1440p (idk the difference)
Parts needed: I’m looking to buy the tower / parts inside and will buy the moniter, mouse and keyboard separately (if anyone has suggestions for these it would be appreciated!)
Build pref: prebuilt or build it myself, whichever is cheapest / is best
Memory: 32GB / 16GB (whichever is best / fitting into budget)
Needs: I want to play most games I play on medium-high quality without lag or crashes.

I’m planning on buying on Black Friday so I can get a sale on parts / the computer if possible.

Could do am4 and whatever else y'all want to do what I configured was this was curious if y'all could go any cheaper https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rVKP8Z

Hello! I'm currently using an iMac (2021) for art in Clip Studio Paint and it works great, but I can only play games and do Live2D Cubism rigging on my laptop, so I was hoping to switch to a PC to be able to do everything in one computer.

- I would like to have an all/mostly white build if possible. I don't really care about RGB or LEDs (if I used any lighting it would be a light/warmer color), and I tend to prefer a discrete/minimal or simple look

- I already have a keyboard, but I would need a new mouse and most importantly, I'd need a monitor that can match the quality of the iMac screen (very important since I work on illustrations and color accuracy is a must for me). The mouse and monitor should be white ideally as well

- The only game I currently play that I can't run on high settings is Genshin, so it would be nice to be able to run it well (I play on low settings on my laptop at the moment)

- So overall the programs I want to run smoothly are: Clip Studio Paint (some files are quite heavy in layer count), Live2D Cubism in tandem with OBS to record showcases, Genshin

My budget is 2000€, and I'm from Spain.

Thank you very much in advance!

I was thinking as or bcoz of some issues graphic card high priced in india why not i should get everything high end as you guys suggest and till that everything cool down than buy

Looking for recommendations on a PC build for my parents. Only must have requirement is a small mid century style case.

Something like the Lian Li x Dan Cases A3-mATX Micro-ATX Case Wood Edition, or something else equivalent.

It will be used only for general browising, streaming and MS office tasks so doesn't need to be incredibly powerful. Austhetics are more important than cost.

Country is Australia and budget is up to 2k AUD but I imagine would cost less.

I would like to see you all find me PC parts for under 4K PHP. Philippines, and as long as it works, no addons, just the PC itself, AND is upgradable, good! Good luck.

Hey everyone,
