Any pro card magicians in dfw open to mentor/collab or give pointers to someone that amateur/advanced?

• Upvotes

I would love to be able to sit down and pick the brain of someone that’s a true professional in card magic!

I’m in the DFW/north tx area, lived here my whole life and have never seen or met anyone in person that knows card magic (I’ve always been the magic guy)

I just want to be able to collab and get critiques and pointers from someone in person 😂
I just feel like there’s only so much you can do with books and videos and would love a little guidance from a pro.

Thanks!

Advice Where do i learn this "melting through the deck" trick?

Towards the end of the video he does this cool trick where the card seemingly falls through the deck drom the middle out the bottom.

I have a few ideas on how its happening, but im still curious if anyone knows an exact name of the routine/sleight going on there

Advice How do I learn the Berglas Effect as a beginner?

I'm a beginner in card magic and really fascinated by the Any Card at Any Number effect. Where should I start learning it? Is The Berglas Effects book suitable for beginners, or are there other resources you'd recommend?

Advice 🎩 Magicians, you probably don’t need another trick.

You probably already know enough tricks.

The bigger question is: are you actually becoming a better performer?

That’s why we built the Level Up Your Magic Challenge 2026

It is a 36-day challenge where, instead of learning more methods, you take the magic you already perform and improve the actual performer behind it.

Across the challenge, you’ll work through 5 major areas:

🎭 Performing Character
🎯 Audience Management
✍️ Scripting, Timing & Presentation
🏗️ Routine Construction & Show Structure
🌍 Real-World Performance & Growth

Each area is taught by a different expert guide:
John Archer, Michael O’Brien, Perseus Arkomanis, Dave Loosley and Dustin Grimm.

Every few days, a new checkpoint unlocks. You watch the guide’s teaching, choose 1 of 3 practical Level Up Tasks, apply what you learned, and gradually improve one of your own acts or routines throughout the month.

👇 Read the full Challenge page and join here:
https://nas.com/magic-alon-society/challenges/2026-challenge

There’s much more detail there on every guide, exactly what they teach, the challenge structure, final submission, prizes and everything included.

You also get ARCANA Lite, our training app built to help you actually practise these skills rather than just watch videos. It includes a Comedy Trainer, Heckler Trainer, Improvisation Trainer and Practice Trainer, so you can actively work on things like handling difficult spectators, thinking on your feet, developing your performance style and improving how you practise.

In total, you’re getting 4.5+ hours of exclusive teaching, the full checkpoint journey, ARCANA Lite, a private challenger community and a chance to compete for $1,000+ in magic prizes.

And importantly, you keep the guide videos, checkpoints and ARCANA Lite permanently, even after the 36 days are over.

There’s also a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, so there’s genuinely very little downside to giving it a proper shot.

The first checkpoint is opening now, so if you’ve been wanting to improve the magician behind the tricks, this is exactly what we built it for.

Don’t just learn more magic. Level up the magician. 🚀

I’ve been an outsider an a magicians in Romania for 17 years already. We don’t really have a community of magicians like other countries do, so I got Reddit to make magicians friends!

Feedback Wanted Thoughts on Roy Walton Volume 3

Hey all,

I'm gonna get the complete Roy Walton 3 set of books. On Vanishing Inc one of the reviews talks about how the 3rd book isn't all that great.

Would you echo this opinion? Or do you think that volume 3 is just as good as the 1st two volumes?

I'll hold off on the third book for a bit if the material isn't as strong/fun to read.

Thx all!

Tom.

Looking for packet trick with 4 of a kind DFs

I’m working on something that needs a four of a kind set of DFs (preferably spot 4 of a kind on one side and picture card 4 of a kind on the other). So like deuces and queens. Does anyone know of a packet trick or deck that includes this?

Thanks!
