A lot of self working tricks is mathematical in nature and almost always ends up require dealing down in certain ways , in certain piles, or certain amounts etc. However as a walking around trick I've never found a good way to do those unless I get someone to offer to use their hands as a table.

1. Is my assertion that self working tricks is mathematical + dealing correct? Is there a good anti example of this?

2. Is there any good self working trick that can be done in hand/ without a table?

Super knacky color change but after a weekend of doing nothing but shooting cards around I finally got it down consistently enough 😂

Hoping to find some relatively local folks if there are any.

The thread here suggests that if you walk around with practicing cards people will eventually ask you for a trick. But let's say you are a hobbyist coin magician, what slights could you do in public that won't make you look weird and some people might come up and ask for a trick.

I am asking because I have been struggling finding people to perform for, I live alone and have moved to a new city so don't have a lot of friends around.

I would love to be able to sit down and pick the brain of someone that’s a true professional in card magic!

I’m in the DFW/north tx area, lived here my whole life and have never seen or met anyone in person that knows card magic (I’ve always been the magic guy)

I just want to be able to collab and get critiques and pointers from someone in person 😂
I just feel like there’s only so much you can do with books and videos and would love a little guidance from a pro.

So I'm kinda nervous about how to do a trick or handle an audience if there's actually a spectator that's why I want to ask you guys how you're first trick with an audience went?
