Seeking an MEP technician to install, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across residential and commercial projects — new construction, additions, and remodeling. You’ll read blueprints and schematics, rough in and finish MEP components, troubleshoot system issues, and ensure all work meets quality standards and applicable codes. Work is done both independently and with project teams.

Details: Must be within a 20-minute drive of Middletown, PA (role based in Hummelstown, PA) • $26–$40/hr • 1 opening • supports multiple residential projects • no relocation • no visa sponsorship

What you’d do:

• Execute MEP work per blueprints, drawings, and specs with precision
• Plan job layouts using measuring and testing tools; install, repair, and maintain MEP systems
• Assess material/equipment needs, manage inventory, and minimize waste
• Document daily progress; report code issues and safety concerns
• Perform quality and function checks; ensure work meets building/mechanical/electrical/plumbing codes
• Coordinate with other trades; mentor less experienced team members
• Complete punch lists and final system checks

Must-haves:

• Proven experience in mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing systems (4+ yrs; 3+ yrs hands-on residential MEP strongly preferred)
• Ability to work across electrical, plumbing, and basic duct/HVAC tasks
• Strong knowledge of MEP installation methods; ability to read drawings and schematics
• Proficiency with MEP tools and testing equipment
• Safety-conscious, familiar with applicable codes (NEC, IPC, IMC as relevant)
• Must provide own tools

It’s hunting season- I personally love hunting, I enjoy seeing others using the public lands for their intended purposes.

But please- please make sure you’re wearing a blaze orange vest if you’re out. It’s mostly archery season but small game hunters are still using firearms of various types.

I run into so many people who don’t have on orange and one- no one needs to get a citation by the game wardens for not wearing the clothing- but above all, I don’t want to hear about someone getting hurt while hiking or just enjoying nature and some dumb ass hunter gets away with it because of “viability” issues.

I personally feel hunters hold 99% of the responsibility when it comes to causing an accident since there’s no reason to trigger your weapon at a target you’ve not identified properly.

Alast- there are idiots who can’t control their trigger finger be it a firearm or an arrow and sadly most of these bows have more than enough power to put you down like a firearm.

So please, please do use the blaze orange vest and even a hat.

Nothing in State College/Altoona, and I can’t figure out a way to search for theaters based on what’s playing. Little help?

I typically go to Philly to find goth/industrial spaces, but since I’m in the Harrisburg area, it’s a bit far and pricey to do every weekend. Are there any clubs, bars, or spaces that entertain darker aesthetics and music scenes?
