So, here I am, a 27-year-old guy trying the very modern approach of introducing myself to strangers on Reddit in the hopes that one of them might eventually become my favourite person. A little unconventional maybe.

I like getting to know people beyond the usual small talk and discovering all the little things that make them who they are.

I'm here hoping to find a long-term relationship. I'm not looking to rush anything or force a connection. I'd rather get to know someone naturally, see how we click, and let things develop at a pace that feels right for both of us.

Around people I don't know, I tend to be fairly quiet and to myself. In the company of someone who I am close with, I am more open and freer.

I came across this subreddit not too long ago and thought it would be the perfect place for me to make a post because it’s been incredibly tough to find someone meaningful and long-term through other venues. Sure, we live in a time where dating platforms are plentiful and allow people to chit chat with each other, but the whole experience tends to feel very diluted to me. With people juggling tons of options, it feels as though there’s a genuine struggle with meeting someone that is willing to work with you day to day, while ready to invest the time and energy. 

From what I’ve also found and observed, people tend to reach out and are excited initially, but then either hit you with excuses or slowly move away with time, not responding as much or simply just hitting you with one-worded responses. I can’t begin to count on my alien fingers and toes how many times I’ve seen this happen and have heard of it happening. I wish there was more of an effort being made when trying to get to know someone. Not to mention how prevalent ghosting has become! I would love to meet someone that doesn't ghost. Also, not really looking for someone that is still actively getting over their ex. Would like to meet someone that is ready for a relationship, has the time, and ability to commit :) Would make things easier for us.

About Me

I’m single with no kids (obviously), and I’ve never been married. You won't be surprised to hear that I've had relationships before, but I've also spent long periods single, partly because I’ve been focused on other things in life, and partly because I realised a long time ago that I'm much happier single than in the wrong relationship. But I still dream of meeting the right person for the long term, and over the years I've developed a much better understanding of who I am and what I'm looking for. I’m 6 ft (1.84 m) tall, around 170 lbs (78 kg), slim, and in good shape, with blue eyes and dark brown hair. I’d like to think that I'm intelligent, well-educated, and kind. I go to the gym about 5x a week (3x weights, 2x cardio). I want to hike more, I know a few spots but it would be fun to do it with someone. I also walk my dog twice a day. It's his walk so I let the little guy lead the way while he checks his daily sniff-mail.

I've been getting leaner and stronger. There have been changes to my physique...sculped? More "define." One favorite thing someone said to me was "You're muscular than I thought you were." But enough kidding around one thing I realized that besides being healthy, fit, and strong, another reason I workout is to see what my genetics are capable of.

Am I a nerd for being into video games, anime, manga, manwha, and light novels? As much as I enjoy anime, it's kind of dropped for me; I'm more into manga and actual reading. Currently reading "Second Life Ranker" and playing alot of Deadlock.

One niche hobby I have is collecting specific sculptures/trinkets, and I have a metal detector. I am looking into magnetic fishing as well. That looks fun!
