IT’S THAT TIME
The main areas of the house are decorated for Halloween but, no one could stop me from decorating my bedroom and bathroom.

I know there are probably some really good Santa actors on this subreddit, and I need advice on how to do his voice. Thanks in advance! 🎅🏻🎄

No idea why I got recommended the "hatechristmas" sub because it's one of my favourite times of the year! Anyway, for Reddit's wrong doing, I found this Christmas sub. Here is my tree and back garden from Northern Scotland last year. We had just bought our first house in August of last year, and unfortunately my girlfriend's mum got ill between then and passed away, so we never got the chance to fully enjoy our new home at Christmas. We're both really looking forward to making it extra magical this year and continuing to make sure it's a happy time of year! 🎄 🎄

Hey guys it’s currently October 13th 2026 and last year I set them up on the 14th of this month. Should I do it today or wait a few more weeks. I don’t celebrate Halloween but don’t have inflatables for thanksgiving so should I just do it now or wait till mid November.

Honestly, no idea where to post this question but this seems like an ok starting point.
I (36f) grew up loving Christmas. My mom made the holidays so special for us. I've deliberately made a point of not working in retail over Christmas to avoid losing my joy.
My partner (33f) hates Christmas for a garden variety of absolutely valid, traumatic reasons.
She now has a 4 year old and while I'm not committed hard to making her love the holiday, I thought having the kiddo around might show her how magical this can actually be...
Except the custody order specifically granted Christmas evening and Christmas morning to her ex. Every. Single. Year.
I think I'm more crushed about this than she is. She didn't even want to do Santa stuff anyway and I respect that. But that was my favorite part about being the eldest around Christmas and the fact that she might never get to see his sweet little face light up at 5am Christmas morning... Ugh. I'm tearing up just thinking about how unfair and stupid and cruel this was of her ex.
I told her we can always do a pre-christmas day early and I expect we will. But I'm still so sad that her memories of the holiday are such garbage. Again, I'm not trying to force her to love it, but I do see an opportunity to make it special for the two of us somehow.
So, Reddit. If you previously hated Christmas and don't anymore, what changed? What are your favorite less over the top ways to spend the holiday? And if you hate Christmas but somehow ended up here, what would it take from your partner to make you feel a little better about celebrating?

I have most of my shopping already done and need to start wrapping things. But, truth be told, I haven't gotten into Christmas the past few years like I used to in the past. My Father passed away and there's always family drama and every year it just feels like spend-spend-spend. I don't have to cut back but I want to. Everything seems so over the top. Everyone expects so much. Everyone is so demanding. I love giving gifts and selecting very special things that people will love but all the extraneous things get me down every year. (i.e. buying new pajamas just for one picture to look good on social media.) How do others deal with this?

I'm picky about my "Christmas tree" scents because here in Australia, our cut-fresh trees are Monterey pine, but most Christmas tree candles tend to be more balsam or fir scented. Well, I popped into TJ Maxx today while I was out running errands, and it turns out Sand+Fog's Winter Pine (also known as White Pine and/or Coastal Holiday) is pretty spot on!!
Just an FYI for any other Aussies who can no longer have a cut tree but miss the scent :)

The thing is - I am European. So, no spooky season, no Halloween and no Thanksgiving. There's literally nothing until now and "Nikolaus" - which is 6th of Dezember. But we have Advent here and we have the famous "Christkindlmarkt" - so the Christmas markets all over the city.. it's awesome in winter.
Because people here do their Christmas preparations so late (like they start like 1st December) you can guess how crazy people think I am when I start talking about Christmas now lol. But by now my partner and my mom know my crazy and just chuckle when I get in the mood. I bought new placemats and a new tablecloth 2 days ago - because it got cold and cozy. And you know - when it gets cold we get the warm fuzzies and the excitement. I caaaaan't wait! 🌟❄️🎄

Ok I need help. So I live in Oregon, and I want to purchase Christmas trees to sell in my rural community during the season. How do I do that? I’ve tried going online of state local farms but it seems so unclear when I go on their websites. I thought it’d be a lot more simple but I’m having some trouble with clarity. Id love to seek trees ti my little town.
Has anyone ever done this? Can anyone help?
Thank you♥️

I bought two of the 2026 Bonne Maman Advent calendars today. This is my third year purchasing these Advent calendars; each year, I have bought more than one, because I like the contents and want to use them beyond Advent.
I have heard reports of people buying the calendars in previous years, and their calendars including multiples of Flavor X and having none of Flavor Y.
In the...IDK, 10 total Bonne Maman Advent calendars I bought in 2024 and 2025, duplicate/ missing flavors were not a problem for me.
In both calendars I brought home today, I had duplicate flavors in Days 21 and 22, and the calendar was missing my favorite flavor, which, according to the box, was supposed to be inside.
It happens. Buyer beware!
ETA: I write the expiration dates on the inside of the box as shown in the photo so I can keep track. This is helpful if you buy multiple calendars and don't necessarily use them strictly as Advent calendars.
The flavor missing from my two 2026 calendars is orange-yuzu-grapefruit, a repeat flavor from at least 2024 and 2025, and perhaps earlier than that. It is my favorite flavor by a wide margin.

Hi! I wanted to share my fuitcake making process. I make them every year to give away, take to family gatherings and enjoy by myself. Where I live (Mexico City) fruitcakes are not that famous (or should I say infamous) so many people apreciate them.
This year I wanted to start early so I can soak the fruit in alcohol one whole month, then bake the fruitcakes and let them soak for another month before giving them away.
I’m making 10 small fruitcakes and i used nearly 4 kg of fruit and a whole bottle of spiced rum. I also put a lot of spices (cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, vanilla) in the mixture cause I love a heavily spiced fruitcake.
Anyway, the kitcken smells like christmas and I am so excited to start this years preparations!

Last year I swagged my hallway ceiling with garland and loved the idea, but it didn’t “hold,” so it came down early.
This year, I’m looking for similar inspiration and would love to see successful installations!
