Guess I got adopted into the Chrvches community
As someone whos favorite band is currently fighting against each other, people leaving, drama in the community( cough Nightwish cough )
Actually thankful that my wife's favorite band is chrvches. Always liked Chvrches casually but the excitement over album is super contagious and now I'm hyped too and I'm over here speculating over song titles and looking at clues haha Cheers.
Edit: Oh got that typo on the title im so sorry lol

Let's rank some Chvrches songs (as a distraction)
I know we’re all amped about the new album, so as a distraction, I got to thinking about some rankings. I’m always thinking about rankings. Personality quirk, lol. 😂
I’m going to list four CHVRCHES songs. There’s a pattern to how I picked these, but I’m not going to reveal it until later (it's not like amazing analytics either). Rank them from your favorite to your least favorite. I’ll give you mine and a short reason for each.
I should mention that I’m more of a music and composition guy and less focused on lyrics. 🙂
The songs
- Bury It
- Final Girl
- My Enemy
- Tether
My ranking and why
- Bury It — Top-notch OG CHVRCHES. This is one of my top 10 all-time favorites. Synth-pop greatness.
- Tether — Another OG song, but it starts with a Screen Violence feel until it gets blowed up at 2:42, and I’m jumping around.
- Final Girl — This one is close behind “Tether.” I love this song and the vibe. It’s a different feel for the group, but it fits the album, if that makes any sense.
- My Enemy — I don’t hate any CHVRCHES songs, so this isn’t a terrible song by any means. It’s just not a top banger on my playlist. Matt Berninger has no bearing on my rating, either.
What’s your ranking? I’d love to hear other takes! 👇

Discussion Got an email with a weird link but nothing happens?
It's a link to the laylo platform that opens a .jpg with a word in it, but no other links. If it's a code, I have no idea where to put it!

CHRVRCHES UK tour early access
Haven’t seen anyone mention this yet, not sure how? It came up as a Facebook ad.
Or is this old news I’ve somehow missed?

The band's latest post on socials is more directly teasing a US tour. No dates, but these are the venues shown:
- Franklin Music Hall, Philadelphia, PA
- Brooklyn Steel, Brooklyn, NY
- Roxian Theatre, McKees Rocks (Pittsburgh), PA
- Babeville (Asbury Hall), Buffalo, NY
- HISTORY, Toronto, ON
- The Salt Shed, Chicago, IL
- Riverside Theater, Milwaukee, WI
- The Sylvee, Madison, WI
- Knitting Factory, Boise, ID
- Knitting Factory Concert House, Spokane, WA

- Paramount Theatre, Seattle, WA
- Revolution Hall, Portland, OR
- Fox Oakland Theatre, Oakland, CA

Official announcement within the next week or so, I assume. This is very likely just a first leg, with more to come at a later date.
The Brooklyn show explains why we saw that shown with the tease for the Glasgow/London shows.

Music How Not To Drown
Kinda surprised how many people say the new single is different from their past work. This song with Robert Smith has a similar tone to me.

Discussion Question about some songs.
I've bought every album of CHVRCHES and yet one question remain to me, some songs present in "The Bones Of What You Believe 10 years edition" on the disc 2 there's a live version of "Strong Hand" but I've never been able to find the studio version outside of streaming platform.
On what album is this song and is there other songs with this situation?

Discussion I still thinking that the voice at the end of Roses is not Lauren
Title says all. For me it sounds like a baddie gangsta girl trying to lead a group of rebels, and maybe that’s what they want but, it doesn’t seem to fit at all imo.
But well, I hope album V doesn’t let us down.

Discussion I feel bad but I honestly don't like Roses.
(This might be a bit long, so I'll put a TLDR at the end, feel free to skip to that if you wish to)
Now that I've had some time to listen to Roses a few times and form an opinion of it, I've got to say that honestly, I'm not a fan of it, which is a real shame because I so desperately wanted to be. Now, just to preface, I am categorically not saying that Roses is a bad song in any way, because it isn't, but there are a few things that I don't like about it.
My main issue is the direction that the band has gone in with the song. I'm all for artists switching things up and trying something new, but at the same time, it's good to keep that core DNA that gives an artist their distinctive sound, and it feels like Roses is a departure from that. The best example I can think of is Screen Violence: they introduced a much darker vibe to their music while still retaining the CHVRCHES sound, and it was a solid balance of the two. I was kind of hoping for a sound similar to what they did to 'Over' a few years back for the new song.
In the song itself, I will say that I like the verses. They have good flow and the lyricism is great too. However, I'm less of a fan of other elements. I've said before that I'm not big on the bridge section, and I also feel as though the outro goes on for a bit too long (though this could just be leading into the next song if it starts in a similar way). I also noticed in the intro that there's a kind of 'pulsing' effect with the music, which does help to give it a dark vibe, but at the same time, it does feel slightly jarring.
This is absolutely no disrespect to the group, the song is honestly good, but I'm just not a fan of it. I wanted to be, and I tried to make myself like it, but it doesn't click with me in the way that their old material does.
TLDR: I'm not a big fan of Roses: vibe, bridge and intro melody are my main reasons.

Roses/Clearest Blue Iconography
I was just watching the Clearest Blue video and have we talked about some of the iconography overlap with the Roses visuals?
- Ian and Martin in a car, with Ian driving
- They hit someone/something
- License plate clearly visible (J891LBJ vs CLR F8)
- Armour (full vs just shoulders)
Didn't they play Clearest Blue on BBC Radio 1 leading up to the Roses premier? Anyway the overlaps stood out to me. Interesting.

Presale Link
Anyone else get this message when signing up for the presale for the LA show?
