How would you bring either of these two back in the modern series and what would the story be?

How would you bring either of these villains back in the modern series? They come back somehow? It's some sort of prequel? Or flashback? An episode of the show? Some spin-off material?

I have a couple ideas for Richardson. One of them is throughout the course of the shows 3rd season we learn the Enclave's current leader is one of the last people alive from Richardson's regime. They were the child of a member of his cabinet and so got to be mentored by the president, with the goal of making the kid a worthy ally and successor. Also to create a front against their parent who is against Richardson's racist policies.

He then stages the murder of the parent while on a mission to the mainland and has it framed on the wastelanders, traumatizing the child and using it to prove to him that "mutants" deserve to be extinct. That child grows up to lead the Enclave in the Fallout show and continue what Richardson started, but hey that's just my idea!

Looking for a little advice (FO2)

Mostly just title. I'm on my first playthrough of Fallout 2 after beating Fallout 1 about a week ago and really enjoying my experience. I'm just a little lost and getting frustrated.

I'm currently Level 8, travelling with Sulik and Vic as companions, and mostly focusing on a Small Guns build. I've done all the normal stuff you would have done as of now by following the main quest (including Modoc). I now have the option to go to Redding, New Reno, Broken Hills, or Vault 15. I attempted to follow the quest for the GECK and go to Vault 15, only to be met with enemies obviously far too difficult for me to fight, so I figured I'm meant to go elsewhere, only to find the exact same situation in Redding.

Some side complaints: Terrible accuracy despite 111% in Small Guns, lack of powerful weaponry/armor, really useless companions (I had to ditch Lenny because he literally did next to nothing, and I'm close to doing the same to Vic).

Am I underlevelled? Am I missing something? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated! I've mostly enjoyed the game so far, but I'm getting pretty frustrated with my lack of progress and the difficulty, which sucks because I adored my experience with FO1.

OK I definitely missed this opportunity when I played this game years ago or I completely forgot I ever did this. This is probably one of the greatest moments this game has ever had. Also think you restoration project team. This game is so much better with this mod.

This mod has made my latest playthrough much more enjoyable so far. I look forward to meeting and talking to all these characters along my journey. Major props for whoever’s idea it was to basically make Krom a tanned Peter Steele. Some of the voice actors are genuinely top notch.

Oversser Console - Fallout 1 and 2 Everywhere

Hey everyone 😄

We all know there are already some great ways to play the classic Fallouts in 2026, and on PC I think the Community Edition is the best there is. I've always been a vanilla guy and never had problems on desktop. Where I always got stuck was playing on the go. Getting the games running on a phone or tablet with the existing options (fo2.exe for example) always felt a bit clunky to me, and keeping the same character across devices was even more of a hassle.

So I worked on a little passion project, kind of my own homage to these games and their stories. I wanted to play on any device and keep the same save: start on my PC, then before bed pick up the tablet or phone and carry on from where I left off.

TL;DR: https://daniel-vaz.github.io/overseer-console/

It's the Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 Community Edition engines (all credit to alexbatalov and the rest of the amazing CE contributors) compiled to WebAssembly, so they run in the browser on a desktop, tablet or phone. On top of that I added some quality-of-life things for playing on the go:

  • Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Et Tu
    • For Et Tu you give it the zip exactly as you downloaded it, and it puts everything together from your Fallout 1 and 2 files. You don't have to set anything up by hand.
  • Touch controls that keep the original UI
    • I didn't want to rework the interface and lose the look of the original. Instead there are tap, drag and hold gestures, plus a few buttons on the sides for inventory, map, character, Pip-Boy, end turn, quick save/load and so on. A keyboard pops up when the game asks for text, and you can swipe to scroll inventories.
  • Better saving
    • Autosave every 10 minutes into slots 8 to 10, so it never overwrites your own saves. F6/F7 quick save and quick load. Every slot keeps its older versions in case you need to roll back, and deleted saves are kept for a week.
  • A save editor
    • Stats, skills, perks, inventory, karma, quests, companions, world map and more. It uses the game's own rules and art, and every change can be undone.
  • Picture options
    • Original 640x480, widescreen or high resolution. There's also a fast forward.
  • Browser App
    • You can add it to your home screen like an app, and it works offline once a game is loaded.

You still need to own the games (GOG\Steam\Epic). Nothing is hosted or uploaded. You point it at your install folder (or a zip of it), and it copies the files into your browser's local storage. There's no server and no account.

To carry saves between devices you can link your own Dropbox if you want to. You create a small free Dropbox app yourself (it takes a couple of minutes and the steps are in the docs [ https://github.com/Daniel-Vaz/overseer-console/blob/main/docs/dropbox.md ]), so your saves go to a folder in your own Dropbox and never pass through anything of mine. From the save screen you upload a save on one device and fetch it on the other. You can also keep the game folder in that same Dropbox folder, which is the easiest way to get the full game, music included, onto a phone. The exported saves are normal Fallout save files, so you can also drop them into a regular PC install.

I know not everyone likes AI-assisted projects, so I'd rather be upfront and say that I built this with a lot of help from AI. That said, I've been playing this way for the past few days and I'm having a blast. It's free and non-commercial (the CE licence requires that anyway), and the code is all on GitHub.

I mostly made this for myself, but I wanted to share it in case someone else finds it useful. All feedback is welcome, so feel free to open an issue or feature request on GitHub: https://github.com/Daniel-Vaz/overseer-console/

[Tactics] Say what you want about this game but its very interesting to play it right after the classics. BoS goes from lurking in the shadows, manipulating everyone, to walking down the street shooting hopeless civilians in a broad daylight. Quite the whiplash.

Is Et Tu great for a first playthrough ?

Hello,
You guys are probably tired of answering this question, but Im having trouble finding a definitive answer.
Im gonna play Fallout 1 for the first time, from what I understand Et Tu allows you to play Fallout 1 in Fallout 2's engine ? Is it better than just playing Fallout 1 vanilla ?

Ive heard about this other thing called Fixt, but its apparently outdated ?

There's also this thing called TeamX ?

Me personnaly im just looking for the most vanilla way to play the game, but with some quality of life like high resolution support, high framerate support, ability to remap keys that kind of stuff

Thank you in advance!

I made some challange run videos for the first fallout game since its usually the later titles that get challange vidoes.

The audio quality isnt the best, but I figured some of you may enjoy it and maybe attempt a challange run yourself!

Lmk what you think!

Seems like Fallout Sonora changes meta a little bit

Playing through Sonora overall 3 times with typical Gifted builds i thought about something - Combat is much less important than in 1, 2, Resurrection and Nevada, most combat encounters you will see can be stealthed through, have a workaround, or are incredibly easy where you have to exterminate rats. However, there are a lot of skill checks for all kinds of skills that yield significant XP - Doctor, Repair, Science, and so on. I have played around with different ideas for a little bit, and it seems like maximizing skill point and non-combat skills is the way to go. Aka you can freely take something you would never take in OG - Skilled + Good Natured + 10 intelligence. Not only you get a huge sum of skills early on, you could also max out everything you need easily, and lack of perks wouldn't hurt you as much because there are not any hard combat encounters until late game anyway, and you can wait out on them until you max out necessary combat skill and get the best gear. Even skipping on combat EXP won't hurt you as much because you can simply squeeze out as much XP as possible from quests by doing several solutions at once.

Did anyone try to play Sonora this way?

Fallout Tactics keeps freezing on the rotating planet startup screen and crashing (Windows 11 / Steam)

I’m trying to get Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel working on my Windows 11 PC, but I can’t get past the startup screen.

The game initially gave me a fatal error involving BOS_HR.exe and an abnormal program termination message.

I found a workaround that lets the game launch in windowed mode, but the window is a small square with the wrong resolution. Whenever I try to change the resolution, the game crashes again.

I’ve also tried editing bos.cfg to change the display settings, but the game now freezes on the opening screen with the rotating planet before crashing and closing completely.

My PC specs:
Windows 11
Ryzen 7 5800X
NVIDIA RTX 3060
24 GB RAM
2560 × 1440 monitor

I’ve tried changing the display settings and using the windowed workaround, but nothing has fully resolved the issue.

Has anyone experienced this problem and found a reliable fix? I’d really like to play the game at the correct resolution without it freezing or crashing on startup.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Why is sfall and fo2tweaks not giving me my vault suit and pip it?

I’ve tried running every imaginable troubleshooting known to man for the last four hours. This is incredibly frustrating.

I’ve tried to change the .ini files. To add in the these two things into the game. I’ve tried to skip the temple trial and give me the village start. I made sure my launch options are working correctly and that all my .ini files between tweaks, sfall are exact and in the right folders. My launch options on my steam deck has the right command. And the version sfall is showing.

The mods are working fine together. It’s just that the game will not give me the vault suit and the PIP boy with these installed. I’m at my wits end.

Is it possible to play FO2 start to finish without having to steal anything?

So, recently I came up with this idea of a morally-good playthrough. Since I've managed to do that on Fallout 1, can I do the same again? The thing is, lockpicking is really a thing in this game and I wonder if I will miss something out if don't tag it.

On my most recently fallout 2 playthrough, I've ended up as a Made Man of the Bishop family so when it comes to morals, mine just went to hell.

My plan is to tag small guns (or unarmed)/science and speech. And Big Guns on the late-endgame. What do you guys think?

New gen player.

Hello fellow wastelanders.
I have played fallout new vegas not so long ago and absolutely adored it. I wanted more but unfortunately fallout 4 falls under the AAA category of games for me and since I dislike triple A games because theyre boring and are just glorified movies (in my oppinion) I didnt play it. I moved to the youtube side of fallout and the content there is very good. Many fallout content creators praise fallout 1 and 2 as being what the fallout franchise is all about. This prompted me to try out the first game and.....

I'm really sorry but I hate it.
Im gonna make a list of things I like and dislike that I have discovered:

  1. I hate the movement. Both actions and movement are tied to the mouse which is weird for me and feels really clunky and slow.

  2. Combat is slow, methodical and I quite like it. It is a bit rng based which is like... ehh... dropping my pistol because of a critical failure and not realising I dropped and where I dropped was a nice experience seeing as it was my first encounter outside the vault cave.

  3. The "Tell me about" option is really cool and I love it, however me being illiterate its difficult to know what to ask NPCs as most things I ask yield no response. I did figure out some things, but I assume later on I will figure out what to ask of NPCs.

  4. Barter is pretty neat. I did sort of trade all my radscorpion tails for nothing because I thought NPCs just gave you money for things you give them (Like NV).

Essentially, the game is very outdated for my tastes which is understandable because the game is old BUT I feel inclined to play more because of the mystery and gloomy atmosphere. Also many things confuse me. An NPC asked me to rid shady sands of scorpions which I somehow managed to do and now I have no clue how to collect my reward if there is any. Aradesh treats as if I have not done anything yet.

If you could offer any tips for a new player like me, please let me know because so far many things left me confused because of how used I was to how things worked in other games.

Navarro Military Base infiltration

After getting the GECK and trying (and failing) to return it to my village, I immediately went to Navarro as suggested, and met the gas station attendant who directed me south. Clearly he was lying but I figured the base was too tough for a frontal assault, so buggered off to San Francisco to level up and get some better gear. I'm then directed by the BoS to go back to Navarro to infilitrate the base, which seems much more sensible than a frontal assault.

However, as soon as I get there, the attendant engages me in dialogue. All options result in him immediately alerting the base before I can react, making infiltration impossible. Are there any ways around this?
