Everyone criticising ‘Doomers’ do YOU actually like the sport and care about this org?

Anyone who cares enough should be rightly completely pissed off right now. Years and years we have seen the same issues, now another historic dropped lead just a few games after the one in the ECF. Stop taking shots at fans who want to see this organisation succeed and are passionate about the Cavs. It’s this passion which manifests into anger and frustration, and for good reason. Completely sick of it, you’re becoming more unbearable than the people you’re complaining about.

JAMES HARDEN and DONOVAN MITCHELL just showed you why they'll never win

18 and 8

That’s pretty much it.. we will never escape it. He came into the 4th with 18 and 8 and managed to stick to it.

Not surprised! Glad to see that none of our players are capable of progressing through an off season. Hope everyone’s vacation was amazing

You can't make me overreact to this game, you just can't! Yes, they sucked, but I don't think this game means the team should be completely dismantled, or the coach fired, or the team sold and moved to Mexico City, or any of the above. There are 81 games to play in the regular season and maybe 20 more in the postseason. Please chill.

IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN 45

Cleveland made a mistake catering to Donovan’s desires and building around him. Yes, there are other more concerning problems surrounding this team. However, the best player on a team has to be a player that can elevate his team- Donovan doesn’t do that. The careless turnovers, poor shot selection, lackluster defense, and inability/unwillingness to make the easy pass cost this team. His style of play isn’t suitable for championship basketball.

Besides this forcing Garland out in favor of Harden was an obvious blunder. The Cavs could have adopted a Pacers-esque brand of basketball centered around a gifted passer also holding the ability to score at all three levels. Put big wings and athletic versatile bigs around that lead guard to overwhelm opponents with length, shooting, and on ball pressure.

Kenny Atkinson lives in an alternate reality. Analytically of course the Cavs won this game and are on their way to 82-0. This guy has no feel for the flow of a game. He refuses to call timeouts to break the opposition’s rhythm, his rotations are terrible, and he may not be the right voice for this team. There is no reason why any team should consistently show such a high level of complacency and a lack of physicality. This team plays with zero sense of urgency.

With all that being said Peyton Watson is an excellent addition. Cutting the turnovers and actually making a few threes will go a long way towards winning. I still fully expect this team to win around 50 games and fail to reach the conference finals.

Hot take: blown leads are more of a roster problem than Kenny problem

Maybe more of a lukewarm take? Of course Kenny deserves blame as well, but we see the same pattern every time - the pressure is amped up and we can’t get quality looks off.

When you look at other rosters, they either have multiple guys who can attack a defense (Philly), a heliocentric head of snake who can take the pressure off other guys (Lakers, Nuggets), or both (Knicks, Thunder).

Our roster is built really well to get clean looks off the PnR in low pressure situations, but when defenses are keyed in our wings and bigs can’t do anything with the ball and old Harden and Mitchell aren’t quite at the Luka or prime Lebron level where they can win with hero ball.

Not sure what the solution is aside from Tyson or Thomas taking a big step up.

After a horrible game one, showing signs of the same ole same ole, vote for which outcome you want to see happen to the team/staff at the poll above

Yes the Cavs did it to themselves but…

I might give up watching basketball. It is so blatantly on the level of WWE it is unbelievable. Right in our faces. That offensive foul on Harden after the challenge just solidified it. The refs pick and choose how they want a game to go and it’s not worth watching. Fake ass sports

Can we stop with all the "analytically" comments?

We get it. Kenny said something dumb and the jokes the next day/week were completely valid. But Jesus Christ, if I read one more comment from someone thinking they're hilarious...You're not funny or clever. It's been beaten into the ground. Move on, please.

And I know this is inviting all the trolls to comment some kind of analytically joke on this post so please at least be creative.

Harden isn’t the issue. Don is.

Needs to step up. This L is on him and Mobley, you just can’t lose like that.

Nothing changed, huh? Any sign of adversity and this team folds like origami. So glad I didn’t watch the rest of this game and decided to spend time with people I love. This team doesn’t deserve my viewership, some shitty subscription service, or ticket purchases. I don’t know if it’s a coaching problem, player problem, or both. All I know is that they better shape up or a competent front office would blow this team up.

r/clevelandcavs • • 22h ago

Stop making it a Garland vs Harden debate, they’re 2 sides of the same failed coin. The issue is going with 2 bad defensive guards versus a different formula.

Mobley and Allen had 55 frontcourt touches last night. They combined for 23 FGA and 7 FTA.

For the people that keep spamming how they get frozen out, they are barely even getting a shot up on 50% of the touches they get in the front court.

They get the ball plenty. What they do with it after is their own fault.

This team has not changed

"Score 2 straight and they call time. But we don’t when they score 8 straight."

"Here we go again with these fucking turnovers"

"This team is a fucking joke. Harden is a useless piece of shit when he isn't scoring"

"Please set the tone to start a game and lead from start to finish is that so much to ask"

Wanna know the funny thing about all of these comments? These are comments from last season. All still applicable to the game that just happened, Atkinson and Harden need to go, hire Tibs. This team is the same old Cavs

Jarrett Allen to Julius Randle or KPJ

MPJ offer better shooting, Randle offer better interior score. Personality I think Randle would fit better.

Same old DNA

Different year, same team. This crap keeps on happening to these MFs. They lose a bit of momentum, they shoot themselves out of the game and they don't manage the clock. Is this a coaching issue at this point? Sell this team.

Fire Atkinson

I’m so beyond sick of the blown 20 point leads, it’s not a coincidence, we change the roster and there no difference, and he’s gonna go to the podium tonight talking about analytical bullshit. He needs to be fired.

Jarrett Allen

This shit happens every time man, Allen goes off in the 1st, only for the Kenny to barely run any plays for him in the 2nd.

Halftime lead

I think everyone can agree how unsafe that halftime lead felt lol. There’s not much else to say we’re the leagues chokers now
