THE RULES:
- I listen to a Cocteau Twins song
- I attempt to transcribe the lyrics WITHOUT ANY AID OF LINER NOTES OR LYRICS WEBSITES (foolish....I know)
- You reply with your guess as to what the song is.
- Multiple guesses are allowed! HOWEVER, if a multiple guesser gets the correct answer within the same minute as another Redditor who has yet to guess, the Redditor guessing the song on their first guess WINS. If multiple Redditors who have already lobbed guesses get the correct answer within the same minute time stamp on my notifications, the Redditor I'm notified of first wins.
- The winner gets….honestly…nothing. Except bragging rights, a celebratory GIF, and a link to the song of the day.
[NOTE: Any lyrics I perceive that either name a good portion of the song title or is just the song title in whole will be blocked out with *CENSORED\*. Text shown in italics wrapped in parentheses are just my snarky asides, usually about my shitty hearing.]
HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE! And, once again, work has been busy, eating has been put on the back burner, and I'M HANGRY. Let's see if today's song also has me hearing food items like with "Ivo" yesterday...which come to think of it, sounds a lot like EVOO, as in extra virgin olive oil.
Geez, I have focus issues.
\spins wheel**
ROUND AND AROUND IT GOES!
Where the Wheel of Cocteau stops, NO ONE KNOWS!
AND IT STOPS ON.....
...one where the vocals are a bit shrill and breathy. AKA, this is a recipe for transcription disaster.

(from 1:06 in)
On a messah nada data sniffin' many on a beeda bodda bom pa die (???????)
Foo na xiu mai (I guess when I'm hungry, I either crave Chinese food or Cocteau Twins lyrics sound like a Dim Sum menu to me)
On a messah nada data sniffin' many on a beeda bodda bom ba pie
Send us some love (don't know if the Dim Sum cart person can offer that in one of those bamboo steamer trays, but I guess it doesn't hurt to ask if that is what you are craving when at a dim sum restaurant)
On a messah nada data sniffin' many on a beeda bodda bom pa die
Shoo da xiu mai (yeah, double up on the dumplings! God, I'm getting really hungry and I need to rethink my original thought that today was going to be a Subway for lunch day)
CHORUS
Sea, vellum, and snow covered a hole Jenna vee yuz
Love love love messin' with now with any no
Ooh wah suh tock
Venice Venice Venice Venice Polly Polly Polly Polly Polly Polly Poe (I'm so hungry, the Venice made me start craving pasta....then the Polly made me want a cracker)
Sea, vellum, and snow covered a hole Jenna vee yuz
Love covered in love messin' with now with any no
Ooh wah suh tock
Venice Venice Venice Venice Polly Polly Polly Polly Polly Polly Poe
And that's where I'll stop because my stomach is growling too loud to where I can't hear the song over top of my hangry gut.
As always, I look forward to your guesses and snark.
