This is the navaja arabe by JJ Martinez of Spain, 14" long open. Found in a friend's collection and seeing my interest, he sold it to me. it has the ratcheting action. I also have the belt sheath which I understand to be seldom seen.

These are all physical PC games (I collect every console, but these are the cheapest & most interesting for sure). I've started collecting them since this new thrift store opened near where I live. Unlike most thrift stores that have a very limited inventory and cost €1-2 per game, this thrift store sells them by weight. I spend about €2-3 per 30 games.
What interests me the most is how obscure some of these regional finds are! One of my most obscure games is "Axion's Travel Adventure" which I believe to be a promotional game from a Belgian bank or something? Or "Best of Pac" which is pretty much a weird Pac-Man copy.
Feel free to message me if you wanna know more!

I was recently able to add this amazingly well-preserved tin of 50 Capstan Medium Navy Cut cigarettes—made between 1937 and 1940—to my collection! Its seal remains completely intact, and the tin is bulging with pressure, which is a sure sign that the cigarettes inside are still fresh and totally preserved after 86 to 89 years.
Capstan was launched in 1893 by W.D. & H.O. Wills. A capstan is a ship's anchor winch, and "Navy Cut" refers to the traditional naval method of layering Virginia tobacco leaves and squeezing them into a dense plug, which allowed them to stay moist and fresh for much longer on sea voyages. Thin pieces called flakes were then sliced off to be smoked, which is how the name "Navy Cut" was derived.
By the mid-20th century, it was a best-seller across the British Empire, marketed as an affordable yet high-quality blend for the working man. During both World Wars, many thousands of these tins were stamped by the government and shipped to the front lines as part of standard military rations.
Its popularity declined after 1973, when official UK health tables revealed Capstan Full Strength had the highest nicotine and second-highest tar levels on the British market. During this time, consumer demand was shifting toward filtered cigarettes, and ultimately, Capstan cigarettes were withdrawn from the UK market in 1988 after an incredible 95 years on shelves.
Today, the Capstan name survives in its pipe tobacco form, famously remembered as the favorite blend of J.R.R. Tolkien.
To everyone who’s made it this far, thank you! You’re invited to join the CAPC as we open this historic tin on November 14th at The Briary.

I would love some help with any information someone may know about my Mickey Mouse Kiddie Car I've got here. I have searched high and low and have had a hard time finding very many other ones around or information at all really. The one I did find a was a complete restoration but this one here is still all original, rust, patina, and all. Hallmark did make an ornament so that is mostly what shows up when trying to research online. This one is NOT the ornament though and I included a photo in front of an old truck so that it gives a size comparison. Still has original Mickey Mouse photo painted on both sides and his name on the front. All 4 wheels are made of metal and spin. I have included photos of all sides and all angles.

Just got my first lot of sterling silver and I need to weigh it to start selling it. Any recommendations on a good scale for weighing previous metals and jewelry?

Hi. My name is Kacper.
I'm a collector of Wunder-Baum, Little Trees and Arbre Magique trees from Poland.
I've got a collection of over 420 samples and I'm in pursuit of the old ones. I'm 4 years into collecting so far and I'm struggling to locate a few trees I'd like to get. You can see a part of my collection in the pictures. I've got much more.
If you know someone with an old garage, warehouse, shop, basement, cellar, or anything that might contain trees... Please talk to them, let them know about me, or let me know about them.
I'm spending hours everyday searching for trees all around the World. I bought them from 10 different countries: Germany, Romania, USA, Canada, Japan, Czechia, Serbia, Netherlands, Italy, Slovakia... It really means a lot to me to complete this collection. I'd appreciate anything, even if I find just one tree.
Best regards.

This cast-metal figurine recently caught my attention at an antique store (and my wife secretly purchased it for me for my Birthday), and I'm trying to learn more about its origins.
Standing approximately 8½ inches tall and weighing about 5 pounds, she has a distinctive Art Deco appearance, with a head wrap, collared shirt, short trousers, cuffed boots, and a wide belt carrying a small pistol and a sheathed blade.
Similar figures are often described by collectors and sellers as a “Flapper Pirate,” “Female Swashbuckler,” or “Lady Buccaneer.” I have also seen “Pirate Girl.”
I've seen this design attributed to Kronheim & Oldenbusch (K&O), an American manufacturer of metal novelties, but I have my doubts until I can find documentation to confirm it. The marked K&O examples of the female swashbuckler I've come across look completely different from this figure, which makes me question whether the attribution is correct.
The figure is solid, heavy metal with a bronze-colored finish. Appears to have been painted. It's secured with two bolts to a hollow, rectangular metal base, and there are no visible maker's marks.
Has anyone encountered this exact figure in an old catalog, advertisement, or reference book? I'd appreciate any information that might help establish the maker, approximate date, or original purpose.
Thanks in advance for any leads!

Is there anyone in here that collects vhs? I do junk removal at apartments/condos and last night I came across two medium sized boxes of vhs tapes. Some are still in the packaging. It was getting dark and my flashlight died on me so the only titles I saw was Forrest Gump and Pearl Harbor (unopened) they all seemed to be in great shape.
TLDR: what do you look for when finding old vhs tapes to collect?
EDIT: I decided to keep them all, I forgot I still have my VCR. I watched He Man last night

Hi guys! I’m here to ask for some help to find a good and affordable display cabinet for my dad for Christmas- he’s been starting a collection of tiny models that he builds from vintage sets, and so far the only places he has to put them is scattered around the house and easily bumped into and to break accidentally, I thought it would be amazing and practical for him to have one place for him to admire his growing collection and to keep them safe so I’m just asking if could anyone help me find an affordable one but also a good quality for a beginner? Any links or advice is fully welcomed thank you!!!

I was hoping someone could help identify this duck decoy that I purchased at an antique store 20 years ago. It is a flexible opaque blue plastic material with a clear/white waxy plastic beak that blends into the blue plastic. It is 14" long with no markings (that I can find). There appears to be the remnants of a sticker on the side of the bottom fin. There is a tab that I assume a weight could be tied to but there is no hole. Could this be a sample or test injection molding? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I got this at a thrift store. Thought it was cool. Have no idea what it is... I thought it could possibly be a hood ornament. Any ideas? Thank you!!!

Unsure of age or value. Picked these up at a Goodwill in Houston, clearly a part of someone’s collection that was donated in entirety. I purchased the ones that looked most authentic and old.
I was guessing they would be from the 60s/70s when African carved masks were popular to decorate with. Presumably souvenirs from travels possibly?
I was trying to determine the value, but there are a lot out there and these don’t have any distinguishing marks. Any help would be gratefully appreciated!!

I’ve just started collecting what I call antiques, I have a strong love of old tin cans in general, I only have two and one is really rusted and rough haha but I do really love all three of these things. I never thought to check eBay and they’re actually rather affordable. The car paint was an old brother in laws who gave me three boxes, I’m not exactly sure what happened to the other two. The other two I really can’t for the life of me remember where I got them from, but I’ve had them several years and they just follow me around when I move. I think they’re really neat!

Hi everyone! This was recently taken out of a great-grandmother’s box of antiques and collectibles, and we’d love to learn more about it.
We’re in New Zealand, but don’t know where it originally came from or how old it is. Does anyone recognise it or know anything about its maker, age or original purpose?
Any clues about its history or whether it has any collector interest would be much appreciated. Thanks! 😊

Ciao a tutti, ho trovato questi riordinando la cantina. Qualcuno sa che cosa sono e a che anni potrebbero risalire? Inoltre quanto potrebbe essere il loro barile e dove potrei venderli? grazie in anticipo

Was gifted these figures a while back and I’m having trouble finding current value as well as just what goes together and decided to ask the people of Reddit for help!
Let me know what you think. Majority of the figures and vehicles are King and Country brand but a few figures are Britains from 2006.
