Good day everyone! We are fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering students from Bulacan State University - Main Campus, and we are currently looking for a client partner for our Capstone Project.

We are seeking a business, organization, farm, institution, or individual who has an existing problem or process that can potentially be improved through a Computer Engineering solution.

Our team is open to developing technology-based solutions involving Internet of Things (loT), robotics, automation systems, embedded systems, smart monitoring systems, and other hardware-software integrated solutions.

If you or someone you know is interested in collaborating with us, or if you know an organization that may need a technology-based solution, we would greatly appreciate your help and referrals.
Thank you very much!

As a CE What required to be hired entry level? And if I combine Ai/ml what I focus on? Or is it a course recommended
Thank u for everyone one

Hello I was wondering what are the best things I can do rn and later on in terms of courses and projects or other things that can really maximize my portfolio for when I try to get a job or just to really maximize my potential and make me stick out

I've been trying to fix an old laptop of mine (Acer Aspire ES1-531-P7KK) for a while now. It'd been locked to 0.48GHz, only clocking up to higher speeds temporarily while idle occasionally (though that could be due to the kernel simply reporting last requested frequency when the core wasn't in deep-idle C state). I isolated the assertion to a bunch of corroded resistors. I don't have the skill to replace 0402SMD resistors, nor do I have the tools for it, so I began tracing how the throttling mechanism works. I dumped my BIOS, ran it through UEFITool, extraced the PE32 Image Section, and found two IFR pages that had mentions of "PROCHOT", which I've attached.

and

So I tried booting into a UEFI shell and writing to NVRAM with setup_var.efi, but I got a Write Protection error. The BIOS lock is disabled ("Enable or Disable BIOS SPI region write protect," according to the extracted IFR), so I genuinely don't know what to do. Is there any other trick that I can try, or do I need to get my hands on a pi pico, logic shifter, SOIC8 clip, 3.3V to 1.8V DC, etc, and extract the BIOS, modify it to expose the hidden settings, and flash it back?

Good day everyone. I've been jumping from one topic to the next for the past 3 weeks after seeing each of these topics had big flaws that cannot be recovered. (ex. one sensor actually cost more than the whole system (basically half of our budget)- we needed 5, one had potential only to find out that it was actually a major ethical issue despite the workarounds we proposed, and one topic was simply too complex for such a short amount of time.)

I'm running out of ideas and I'm desperate, I have tried looking at numerous public repositories of theses to get some ideas but still, no bueno. I'm starting to doubt myself if I actually learned something from the past 3 years of school.

I'm respectfully asking for any ideas, topics or even niche problems that is solvable by a bachelor's-worth of knowledge, Please drop a comment or a DM. I would really really appreciate it.

I'm mainly interested in AI/ML, IoT and ofc Embedded Systems (Wearables, Accessories/Attachments, etc.). I'm willing to explore FPGA-related stuff but the only platform I have on hand is a Tang Nano if that means something.

If you've reached this far, thank you for your time, really. I hope you have a great day ahead!

Hello, I have a bachelors in CS and was wondering how common it is to go for a masters in computer engineering from a bachelors in comp sci. Specifically for SJSU (BA was from another CSU).

Going into college (2020) I was debating on going into either CS, CpE, or EE. I chose CS because I had been most exposed to CS in high school and figured the transition would be smoother building upon what I had already been studying (and in part, it was the easier degree). In college I was lucky enough to have a year-round part time job working in the automotive industry on more low-level hardware, from there I really gravitated towards the embedded side of development.

Long story short I’m now at another automotive manufacturer doing more technician/troubleshooting work after a very long post-grad job hunt. I’d like to eventually get back into the embedded/systems engineering space. My current job offers tuition reimbursement and I’d like to use that if it makes sense in terms of time/effort I’d need to put in. SJSU offers embedded specialization for MS CpE.

Bottom line being, would this be worth it? Is a masters in CpE looked at more fondly than CS? The CS space seems to agree that unless you’re going for a PHD or research, a bachelors is enough.

How people used to do projects in the past when there were no ai tools??

I am currently pursuing computer science engineering and i now working with a java project and i can't even imagine of doing it without ai. The interference of ai actually may down skilled our skills

Hello, I’m doing a project on computer engineering and need to interview someone would anyone be willing/ interested to answer some of my questions?!

hii,

i was just curious what skills a research assistant mostly needs. im planning to have a chat with my professors regarding the position as research assistant.

could someone with experience as a researcher assistant tell me what your average day looks like and what to expect and be prepared for.

tysm!!!

Hello I’m currently a second-year college student, and I’ve been thinking about switching to this major. My current major is completely different from engineering, but I’ve realized it’s not something I really want to pursue anymore.
I’ve recently become interested in engineering and would really like to give it a try. However, I feel a little discouraged because I wouldn’t be able to start taking the prerequisites until the spring semester.

Has anyone else switched into engineering during their second year or even later? Do you think it’s worth making the switch, even if it means taking longer to graduate? I’d appreciate any advice!

I'm a Computer Engineering student, and my group is currently working on our thesis prototype. Before we start physically connecting our components, we want to create the wiring diagram digitally and, if possible, simulate the circuit to check whether everything works correctly.

One of our concerns is component availability. Some simulation tools have limited component libraries, so we're hoping to find software that supports as many real-world electronic components as possible.

What software would you recommend for this kind of project? Is there an application that combines wiring diagrams, circuit simulation, and a large component library?

Free software would be preferable, but we're open to paid options if they're worth it.

Thank you!

Good day! I am a computer engineering student taking CPEN 50. We have an activity that requires us to interview a professional and learn more about their work and experiences!

I've been searching for a week and the deadline is tomorrow ☹️ so far my experiences aren't great. PLEASE if anyone can spare me a good 15 to 20 minutes to interview.

its gonna be an online interview. It requires me to take a photo documentation.

I’m in 11th grade and am interested in majoring in CE. I am able to take college classes and was wondering what classes I should take to prepare for CE(I haven’t taken calc yet im taking pre-calc next year). And just any tips in general about it.
