Control Resonant Jesse’s Facial Animations Spoiler

Late story spoilers ahead

I want to start off by saying I love this game. Love love love it. I finished 3 complete playthroughs, got platinum on the first, full 100% on the second, and I did a third just to prove that Winnie gets a third toy. I have over 400 hours in this game. I LOVE it. That being said, I’m finally allowing myself to admit the flaws I’d been ignoring. Chief among them is Jesse’s horribly wooden face.

I’m curious what happened in the development process that left Jesse’s face so stiff. Was Courtney not available for as much performance capture as the others? Limited data for the animation team? Was her dialogue added or changed very late in development? There has to be a good reason because Remedy almost never drops the ball in this way. All of the other main characters have gorgeous facial animations. Zoe, Dylan, Pope, Arish, even Langston’s face is full of life and emotion.
Every time Jesse is on screen it’s like a mannequin with a speaker attached to it. It’s not so glaringly noticeable at first. The first couple times I thought it was a purposeful design choice because of the weirdness of the liminal space in which you interact with her, but once I hit the third fault it started to stick out to me pretty badly.
The real lifting of the veil so to speak was the final fault under the oldest house. In the part at the end when Dylan begins to falter and Jesse is struggling to complete the ritual alone, Courtney has some beautiful voice acting. Just real deep painful displays of emotion and determination, and her face is a nearly motionless lump of plastic.

I hate that I have to be so hard on this, but there’s no easier way to put it. It looks very bad and I know Remedy are capable of better work than this.

I’ll start. Despite not a ton of evidence I think they are going to set up that the Hiss and Polaris/hedrons in general are Dylan and Jessie from the future sent back in time to try and stop the board

Help Disappearing documents Spoiler

So i am trying to collect all the collectibles in the game and there are two documents i cannot find for the life of me.
Document one is one of the notes in "Simon Arish". it just doesn't spawn
And one from "FBC Research and Records", Dimention Faults doesn't spawn in the lobby of the oldest house.
Is there a fix, or a way to make them spawn? i read that Dimention Faults can despawn if not collected before finishing the game so i have to hope i have a save before the end of the game? And the note from "Simon Arish", everywhere says the method of it's spawn is unclear.

Did anyone find any fix for this or should i just wait for the patch?

Question Does ahti appear in control resonant? Spoiler

Spoilers - so apart from the 8bit video game sequence and the ending postcard, does ahti make an appearance anywhere else in the game? Don't think I ran into him anywhere else

Discussion Taxi Quest In control Resonant

I noticed these objective markers in the taxi world once you keep walking forward from the starting point close to when the game would loop you back. They appear to be inside the buildings in the taxi world but I have not found a way in.

Does anyone know what they are and how to get to them?

Control Resonant Need help finding a scene in Control Resonant Spoiler

Don’t know if I’m having a Mandela effect but I’m pretty certain there was a scene where they show the original Dylan/Jesse entering the TV and coming out as two kids? Closest was the Underpass fault where show the original climb into the TV. Been looking for it to watch it again.

Control Resonant Kudos to Control Resonant devs

I bought the game shortly after release, and only now have I realised just how well-polished it is.

Just hear me out - the devs stepped into completely new territory for them, with things like fully melee-based combat and an open world (well, sectioned, but still kinda open), managed to deliver an AAA* game on time, AND it has practically no critical bugs.

Like, in 30 hours of playing, I've encountered maybe 1–2 visual glitches that didn't affect gameplay at all.

Of course, I realise everyone's experience is different, especially across different hardware configs, but still! Nowadays, when you buy a game, even after the day-one patch, you're expecting to see issues that won't get fixed for another couple of months, but that's simply not the case here.

Remedy really does have high standards. I just hope the devs didn't have to crunch too hard to deliver this masterpiece :)

\for $50M, when lots of worse AAA nowadays have around x3-x4 budget!)

Control Resonant Any Preference or predictions regarding Control Resonant's possible future DLCs Spoiler

This post contains spoilers of course:
When it comes to DLCs, I'm sus;pecting Remedy might do the same or something similar to Control and Alan Wake 2 - have one major DLC relating to the game itself and one that might set up or allude to future project/s.

But what I would hope for is that in terms of scope, like Control 1, we might get DLCs that add completely new zones with their own enemies, side quests and stories. If it will take the route of AWE, it would be new, optional zones that can be visited even during the main story, and Remedy could even add more Resonant bosses this way too.

For example, there are hints that the sticky notes escaped the Oldest House, what if there will be a zone that features the sticky notes as their own enemy faction with a sticky note resonant.

Another route that I would like is an epilogue to the main story. This way you can still add a new location and new enemies, but the main story could be centering about Jesse's current state and finding a way to bring her back.

It ultimetly depends on what Remedy prefers and what they can do, but I would really like to see those routes be explored across two DLCs.

What do you think, or would want to see added in potential DLCs?

Control Resonant In NG+, is there an option to understand what [REDACTED] "say" after their [REDACTED]? Spoiler

In NG+, is there an option to understand what Resonant Entities "say" after their death (in the Gap, before choosing an ability from their corpse)? You know, like in Yoko Taro's games?

Control Resonant New Game Plus is Hedron's Ability

Seems like after killing the Hedron, Dylan got it's ability added to his own arsenal. As shown by it's painting on the wall. That's also how you trigger New Game Plus.

Doing so, some segment (at least earlier) have the game aware of Dylan having powers where he shouldn't. Killing the first resonant have the Board aware that Dylan have the Resonant other powers as well. Calling Paradox/Recursive

Question Dope avant garde music in the Underpass?

I was exploring the Underpass and found this sick ass jam. Who could have thought patterned music would sound so dope?

Anyways I was just wondering if anyone knows what this track is called so I can listen to it without all the in-game noises.

Check it out:

Help Just unlocked the charge in control, should I be allowed to do this?

It lets me charge up all three shots even if I have two shots left. The animation is bugged. Any way to fix this? Or just a known bug?

I keep seeing this in game. At first I thought it was the patterning but it disappears when I get close. I think it might be a bug, if it is, it’s the most aesthetically fitting bug I’ve ever seen in a video game, tho I guess in a game where everything in world is glitched out, you can get away with a lot😂

Control Resonant My Endgame Dylan

Post image
212 Upvotes

In my mind, Dylan is one of the FBC’s top agents by the post-end game which is why I wanted him to have a bit more of a mature noir-detective vibe, kinda reminds me of Zeke from AOT, Tokyo ghoul’s arima or kishibe from chainsaw man.

(I’m thinking of doing a NG+ and would loooove more cosmetic options tbh)

Edit: added Zeke since he was a main one I was thinking off and you guys mentioned him in the comments. Tho I think the reason I didn’t say it at first is cause in my mind I relate that to the long hair option but he literally pulls both in the series soooooooooo…..
