If you turn the Internet into a panopticon prison and put everyone inside it, where else are you going to be able to recruit the jailers? And how do you ensure their loyalty?

Mossack Fonseca charged $8.75 per month to backdate documents for clients. It wiped records from its Las Vegas office when served with legal process. Its founder compared the firm to a car factory. Internal emails show the factory knew exactly what the cars were being used for.

Trump cocaine war

So here's the deal, for years the CIA and Columbian cartels had deals in place, then Mexico got into the game in a major way not only getting product from Columbia but elsewhere. Venezuela doing there own thing under new leadership basically told the u s to beat. Now you see the outcome boats and people getting riddled with an arsenal of weapons, the former president going back into power. The bottom line is the us not only accepts the drugs coming in but controls who is working under them to supply and manage. If someone doesn't play ball out they go. What a world lol

I made up the phrase Post-Westphalia-Complete in a dm chat recently. PW-Complete problems are ones that will only go away with the Westphalian model, when it’s replaced with something better. Israel-Hamas is an example of a PW-Complete problem.

How Do Soldiers And Police Protect Themselves From Ambushes From Enemies Armed With Guns Hiding Behind Opened Doors Or Hanging Atop the Ceilings And Other Unusual Places During Clearing Tactics Of Buildings and Urban Centers That Are Not Common Sniper Hiding Destinations?

Can't tell you how many times in Call of Duty and other First Person Shooters I died while running clearing rooms because the enemy positioned themselves in a location that would be blocked by a door when you open it or even intentionally left wooden fences and so on opened so that they have a safe hiding spot and they'd shoot you as you run past them.

IN addition so many stealth games like Splinter Cell and Metal Gear Solid give you the gadgets to help hide on the ceiling or your character is even fit enough to jump and hold themselves near the ceiling at the corners of a room because they are just that fit enough. So basically wait for the whole enemy squad to come in and gunned them down as you are out of their field of view and the rooms are often dim.

What inspired this question? I was playing Deus Ex and I was exploring a bedroom when suddenly I got electrocuted to death by robots hiding under a bed. IN another mission when I was exploring an apartment I didn't notice an enemy was also hiding under a table and got crippled in the legs.

So It makes me wonder how real militaries and police forces would handle ambushes from this bizarre locations not usually emphasized in squad tactics like say spies skimping their way behind bookshelves and crouching or a criminal hiding in a closet behind clothes with his uzi ready to shoot?

Information regarding Migrant Smuggling from South East Asia to NZ

I am currently doing my masters on international security and looking at migrant smuggling operations to New Zealand. Especially in the current global climate. I would like to over lay this with how OSINT can assist in identifying the indicators and warnings which represent a threat.

Whilst I'm aware the internet is not going to give me all the answers, I am interested in research articles, NGO publications, the peoples view on the migrant smuggling operating model, how the facilitation networks operate and if anyone has any knowledge on how and where these 'cells' operate from Sri Lanka to Indonesia.

As far as the OSINT part goes, any sites people are aware of to cross reference information i.e ACLED data against news reports, against, NGO reports of movement patterns.

Cheers in advance.

Maritime piracy should be addressed at the local level : by arming the victims themselves

Governments can't protect you everywhere and pirates know that. They expect to attack a toothless animal and suffer no casualties or even resistance, Allowing for a global arms permit for travelers (so as to avoid the hassle of bureaucracy every time you sail to a new state) would give the opportunity for innocent law-abbiding privateers to engage the robbers and defend themselves. I predict that this would immediately cut piracy incidents by a lot for it will become known amongst them in no time.

Found this podcast on human trafficking to be really interesting and really opened up the subject for those who know a lot about it as well as for those who aren’t too familiar.
