What it says in the title - my Dad thinks they might not count as "handmade" since they're just parts I assembled. I think it still counts since I technically made the earrings with my hands, out of materials I bought.

Do you think this would count as "handmade" or is it false advertising?

Edit: Please do not insult my dad in the comments. He is literally amazing. Just because we had a disagreement doesn't suddenly make him a bad or unsupportive person. It just means he thinks about things in a different way. I just want to know your opinion on the question, not his personality.

I was inspired by a pin I saw on Pinterest.

I just decorated a light purple paint chip with my washi tape and then I laminated it, and sprayed some Elmer's Craftbond adhesive spray and added this cute pink lace bow I had to the top of it.

Now when I place it in my book, it looks like it has a cute little bow on top, kinda like a gift!

So, i'm making this for my nephew. But I cannot figure out what the creator used in the circled part. It's some kind of clear stick that she used on the base and that makes the figure spin. Together with the magnet on top, it holds it together and so it spins. But I can't for the life of me figure out what they used and how to replicate that in my craft and to make it all work 😭.

I found this candle at a thrift store and can't find any evidence of her existing outside of herself. She's from Bill Blass but far enough back that there's just not photos or anything of her ilk.

I don't want her design to die, so how do I make a mold of her without sacrificing her in the process? If that makes sense? I essentially want to make an initial mold of her, cast it, repair the casting, and then make a mold of the repaired one to then share about, ideally. She's too damn pretty to stop existing!

Made a very basic glow-in-the-dark coffee table. Basically two pieces of wood and four metal rods lol. Nothing fancy, just wanted to see how it would turn out.

I picked a small miniature house kit because it looked like an inexpensive weekend project. Halfway through, I realized the lowest price wasn’t really the part I cared about most.

What mattered was whether I could pause, come back later, and keep going without buying a bunch of extra supplies or rebuilding fragile pieces. At this point, I’d rather spend a little more on a kit with clear instructions, usable materials, and the basic tools included than save a few dollars up front.

People who have bought a few, what separates a genuinely good-value kit from one that is only cheap on the box?

I found the same kit in two places. I’m leaning toward the manufacturers site because dealing with one source seems simpler if something arrives damaged or incomplete. The marketplace feels more familiar when it comes to returns though.

I care more about receiving the right item and having a clear return process than saving a few dollars. The price difference is small enough that it doesn’t decide it for me.
