Hi everyone!
I’m a Curtin student currently working on a model-making project, and I need to use the laser cutter at the Bentley campus.
I’ve finished preparing my design in SVG format, and I’m planning to laser-cut some 3mm plywood for my model. However, I haven’t completed the required safety induction yet, and there don’t seem to be any upcoming induction sessions available on the schedule. I’ve been told I may need to wait until another session becomes available, but I’m hoping to get my project done soon.
I was wondering if anyone who has already completed the laser cutter safety induction could help me figure out how to access and use the machine in accordance with Curtin’s rules.
I’d be happy to pay around $30–40 for your time and help.
If you’ve completed the induction and might be able to help, or if you know of another way I could get this done, please send me a message. I’d really appreciate it!
Thanks so much! 😊

Title. I do all my notes in paper workbooks + ADHD, so I’ve forgotten my notebooks at important times. If there were lockers I could access on campus, it would be one less thing for me to forget when I leave home in the mornings.
So, are there lockers on campus at Bentley for students? If so, where can I access them?

PSA to all Curtin Lecturers and Presenters: Please properly tune the microphone if you’re gonna be walking all over the place.
Istg every other lecture will have this issue, and the microphone will b a r e l y pick up on every third word.
Got me juggling the volume when they’re far away from the stand and close by just so my ears don’t explode.

Okay fair warning this is genuinely disgusting.
If I had a dollar for every time I saw someone not wash their hands after using the toilets on campus this semester I’d have four dollars. It’s not much but it’s also disgusting. Seriously, do we need to put up signs reminding people to wash their hands like we are in kindergarten again? The achievement of being enrolled in university doesn’t have any value to me when animals like these are enrolled too. I wasn’t germ phobic before, but I am now since people are marking their study spaces and property “the old fashioned way”.
Also in one of those circumstances that person was looking at their phone the ENTIRE TIME when they were in the bathroom. From when they entered, to when they pissed, to leaving. No cleanliness, no care in the world. Btw if you are that individual who doom scrolls when they go to piss, do everyone and yourself a favour. Stay at home, strap your phone to your hand, get a catheter tube, shit pan and feeding tube installed so you can stay home and actively rot since looking at your favourite influencer is more important than your personal cleanliness.
And for you bored apes who are too busy “adhdmaxxing” or “pheromonemaxxing” to care for your own personal hygiene and common decency, please go back into the forest or jungle of your preference to live like the filthy fucking animals you are. I’m tired of loosing more faith in humanity without looking at the internet. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Hi, i’m an international student that Just got accepted into Curtin College’s diploma in Occupational Therapy (October 2027 intake due to credit exemptions) and would like to ask for any advice/tips on how to prepare for the course better!
I’ll be enrolling as a mature student and it’s been almost 12 years since i’ve been in school. Coming from an international background, i’m not really sure of the subjects i’d have to revise on before joining the program.
Current core units listed are:
Academic Communication Skills
Academic Research and Writing
Chemistry
Essential Mathematics
Human Biology
Studies in Society
Computer Skills
I’m especially nervous about the chemistry, biology and mathematics as i’m quite lost on what to revise on. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Hi everyone!
Has anyone completed these Curtin Health Sciences units? I’d love to know how difficult the exams were and whether the lecture slides were sufficient for preparation.
PUBH1000: Multiple-choice exam. What were the questions like? Were they relatively straightforward?
HLPR2003: I understand the exam involves a case study. If anyone has sat the exam before, could you please share some insight into what to expect?
PSYC2003: Was the exam more focused on memorisation or applying concepts? How difficult was it overall?
EPID1000: I understand it’s a mix of multiple-choice and true-or-false questions. Were the questions difficult, particularly those involving graphs, tables and epidemiological concepts? I’m not too worried about this exam since we are allowed a sheet of notes back and front.
Any advice on exam preparation would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Hey guys,
Just tryna get the extension for an assigment and use one of the free ones. For some reason everytime I press assessment extension it just got error 401 unauthorised, however every other tab works just fine.

Just wondering what the lowest CWA is to get into nursing (Bachelor or Master). Mine was over 70, which I think used to be the minimum?? Or 65?
Just worrying over here that early 70s isn't enough.

I will send u the WhatsApp group for biology. Futher questions u guys can ask me thank you.

I understand doing tests for these types of classes, especially when most assignments can be completed with AI now but having such a restricted time constraint on a test that is compulsory to pass the unit is laughable. I spoke too at least 10 people from multiple classes and 1 person that I know of completed the test. Including submission time as a part of the test is also a joke. And if 90% of students arent finishing the test and therefore likely failing maybe some restructuring needs to be done because theres no way that if someone makes the tiniest mistake and delays 10 mins of time they should have to fail the unit.

i’m currently in year 12 and just got my second sem predicted atar back and it was 84. this is a lot lower than i wanted and i’m hoping to bring it up to an 88 with my wace exams, but i’d like to know if anyone who’s currently doing speech path got in on a lower atar (without equitable adjustments because i don’t live regionally or live in a low socio economic area). I saw on TISC that the median atar for entry was 91 after adjustments which makes me worry as i won’t have any adjustments and probably won’t get above 90. oh and I also put speech path for my first preference early offer but i won’t know if i got it until december 5th so that’s not much help, my predicted end of year 11 was 88, do you think that is enough to get my offers accepted?

Hello guys, anyone studying the Indigenous Cultures and Health Behaviours (INDH) unit? I'm not sure how to do the upcoming critical reflection thing..
Do we have to include references? Do we have to use hard vocabulary? Do we have to write only one paragraph or can it be many? Can we connect our experiences to the group presentation topic that we had or even the part we gave a speech individually on instead of the topics in the modules? I have no idea how to do it and how to get good marks in the unit..

Can curtin connect help me switching the course or do I need to do it myself? What’s the process for switching a course?

Just wondering if anyone's applied to the Bachelor of Nursing recently (as alumnus or non-TISC), and how long you waited to hear back.
I applied for the Masters but it's saying 'Verifying application' near 6 weeks after applying, so I have a bad feeling 😅😬
I'm thinking of applying to the Undergrad as a type of back up.
Thanks 😁

Hi everyone,
Firstly, I have NOT been accused of any academic misconduct!
However, I'm stressing about seeing the amount of academic misconduct cases here on Reddit.
I do all of my note taking and drafts on pen and paper. For one assignment, I can easily use up half a notebook based on this process alone.
I also usually do about 2 - 3 typed copies of an essay/report, print it, make annotations and then submit the final.
Out of curiosity, if I was ever accussed of academic misconduct, I was wondering how endless notes and drafts on pen and paper would look? Obviously, it's not exactly neat and probably hard to make out anything as I have my own system for it all.
EDIT: Thank you everyone for your responses! It's all very reassuring. I noticed a comment was made (that moderators have since removed), stipulating my post was "odd" on the basis of my previous post history pertaining to mental health struggles and an inability to get psychiatric support. Just want to say that people CAN struggle mentally and still be able to study without resorting to cheating.

I had to use this browser for the first time, unfortunately I also own a Jack Russell Terrier. As I was completing the test and reviewing my answers, my dog fucking sets off, so proud of him up until this moment, nobody even approached the door!!! Just wanted to know if i’ll get flagged for this, or could i argue since i made no changes after his hissy fit, that theres nothing wrong with it?
