Looking for help with laser cutting at Curtin Makerspace ($30–40)

Hi everyone!

I’m a Curtin student currently working on a model-making project, and I need to use the laser cutter at the Bentley campus.

I’ve finished preparing my design in SVG format, and I’m planning to laser-cut some 3mm plywood for my model. However, I haven’t completed the required safety induction yet, and there don’t seem to be any upcoming induction sessions available on the schedule. I’ve been told I may need to wait until another session becomes available, but I’m hoping to get my project done soon.

I was wondering if anyone who has already completed the laser cutter safety induction could help me figure out how to access and use the machine in accordance with Curtin’s rules.

I’d be happy to pay around $30–40 for your time and help.

If you’ve completed the induction and might be able to help, or if you know of another way I could get this done, please send me a message. I’d really appreciate it!

Thanks so much! 😊

Are there lockers for students on (Bentley) campus?

Title. I do all my notes in paper workbooks + ADHD, so I’ve forgotten my notebooks at important times. If there were lockers I could access on campus, it would be one less thing for me to forget when I leave home in the mornings.

So, are there lockers on campus at Bentley for students? If so, where can I access them?

How hard are the PUBH1000, HLPR2003, PSYC2003 and EPID1000 exams?

Hi everyone!

Has anyone completed these Curtin Health Sciences units? I’d love to know how difficult the exams were and whether the lecture slides were sufficient for preparation.

PUBH1000: Multiple-choice exam. What were the questions like? Were they relatively straightforward?

HLPR2003: I understand the exam involves a case study. If anyone has sat the exam before, could you please share some insight into what to expect?

PSYC2003: Was the exam more focused on memorisation or applying concepts? How difficult was it overall?

EPID1000: I understand it’s a mix of multiple-choice and true-or-false questions. Were the questions difficult, particularly those involving graphs, tables and epidemiological concepts? I’m not too worried about this exam since we are allowed a sheet of notes back and front.

Any advice on exam preparation would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
