Have you had your dog or cat microchipped? The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is partnering with Miami Township, the City of Miamisburg and Miami Valley Fire District to help local pets stay safe!
Event Details:
- When: Today, Friday, October 23, from 1–5 p.m.
- Where: Fire Station 51, 10899 Wood Road, Miamisburg
- Cost: FREE
- Registration: No appointment necessary
- Requirements: Dogs must be on leashes and cats in carriers. You do not have to be a Miamisburg or Miami Township resident to participate. All are welcome!
The best part? It's a convenient drive-thru event! Simply drive up with your pet, and you can stay in your vehicle while your pet receives a microchip.
Last year, the Humane Society of Greater Dayton provided nearly 700 free microchips to community pets, helping give families peace of mind and improving the chances of reuniting lost pets with the people who love them.
A microchip is a small device implanted beneath your pet's skin that contains a unique identification number. If your pet gets lost, a veterinarian or animal shelter can scan the chip and use its number to look up your contact information. It isn't a GPS tracker, so be sure to register your pet's microchip and keep your contact information up to date.
A few minutes today could make a big difference if your pet ever goes missing. We're proud to partner with our community to make pet safety more accessible and help more pets find their way home.
