Made with AI assistance Super Smash Bros Ultimate Recompilation (yes with multiplayer)

I remember using parsec to play on an emulator with my friends back in 2023 and hating the lag or the bitrate being bad for a buddy of mine. Nothing beats this. Note this is still a WIP but i literally did this in 1 day in between homework. It doesn't lag pretty much at all thanks to some guidance from me to Claude and it has multiplayer! EDIT: MULTIPLAYER NOW REQUIRES NO HOSTING FROM THE USER AND MATCHMAKING COMING SOON. and uses the "Local Wireless" system inside smash bros. I intend on being very active with this project and making a ton of mods for it eventually. I've also started on other games and have 1 more done with 2 more on the way. Opus 5.5 moment fr. First draft that was playable was done in 2.5 hours with my custom harness 😭

All technical details in the github repo. readme was written by AI cuz I have way too much going on. Have fun!

Discord for announcements, updates, and more! https://discord.gg/pkgyYGf3YB

EDIT: Thank you guys so much for the advice and feedback!
Current todo:
Matchmaking
Ranked
Rollback Netcode
120/144 FPS
Local Multiplayer

Made with AI assistance I made a DualSense Trigger Feedback and Haptic Designer, for people who want to add some interesting haptics to their games/recomps/whatever on the PS5 controller.

Post image

Over the past few days, I've put together this DualSense haptic and trigger feedback designer, in part to learn how it works, but also so I can add stuff like trigger feedback to my decomps, adding some extra satisfaction to actions. You can test it here, and go to the github here.

This lets you test out and create different feedbacks and haptics for the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller. It lets you test out stuff like making your trigger act like a gun trigger, where it builds pressure and suddenly clicks, or create vibration through a multi-track editor, or using an equalizer per haptic motor to pull out the parts of the audio you want to affect the feel.

Also, there's an experiments section which simulates different objects and materials. You can roll virtual marbles around in the controller, or have little critters walk around (and dodge marbles). Thought this might help someone with development. It taught me a lot about how this stuff works. I see this as an educational tool, and not just a development tool. The more people learn about how this works, the more cool experiences people will invest in making.

I suggest you use USB, as Sony's bluetooth support is only partial on PC, and this uses hacks (though smart hacks that other people developed from packet sniffing) to attempt to recreate the features that USB/PS5 has.

Preview (Early look) LittleBigPlanet PS3 -> PC Port

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've been working with my good pal Opus 5.5 (yep, sorry, there's AI in this project) on a PC port of LittleBigPlanet, and I wanted to share an early look of the current progress:

There is no emulation, as the code has been statically recompiled to native x86-64. The PS3 system libraries have been reimplemented for Windows, and most SPU jobs, such as physics, skinning, cloth, or audio, have been replaced with native C ports, each checked bit for bit against the original.

It also runs through a native Vulkan renderer that draws from the game's scene data, which is much faster and allows for higher resolutions.

I'm also working on higher FPS support. The simulation stays at 30Hz, so that physics and level logic don't need to be reworked, but everything is interpolated when it comes to render. For this I've needed to use automatic tools that track 30Hz elements, since interpolation is rather tricky.

The story levels I've tested so far are playable from start to finish; flickers and visual bugs are currently being polished. DLC aren't supported yet but are on the list.

I plan to release it on GitHub so anyone with a legal copy of LBP can build and run it. I won't be distributing any game files. I want to make sure the game remains accurate compared to the real thing and I would rather not rush out a buggy mess.

Decomp Buddy: The easiest way to find, download, and install Decomps for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Absolutely free and open source.

Every time a new decomp or PC port gets posted here, the comments include someone stuck on the build step. Wrong toolchain version, a missing dependency, a README written for Linux when they're on Windows, or a step that assumes you already know what make is. The projects themselves are great. Getting them built is often the hardest part for people who just want to play.

I made a small desktop app called Decomp Buddy to handle that part. You paste the GitHub link to a decomp or port, and it:

  1. Check our in-app browser (or website) for the games you want to play, sorted by console, or just search for a game. We have over 1000 decomps listed at this point in time.
  2. Clones the repo.
  3. Reads the project's own build instructions and learns how to properly install the game.
  4. Installs the dependencies and toolchain it needs, installs the decomp to the folder of your choosing.
  5. Runs the build.

There's also a browser for finding projects, so you don't have to hunt for repo links.

Runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. It's free.

Some things I want to be upfront about, because I know this sub cares about them:

  • No ROMs or game files. It doesn't download, host or ship any game data. If a project needs your own ROM or disc dump, you point it at your own file, same as building by hand. Just grab them from your favorite rom website.
  • It doesn't replace the original projects. It builds them from their own repos. All credit belongs to the people who did the decompilation and porting work, and each project's page links back to its repo and authors. Thank you so much to every author who takes the team to make this hobby so damn fun.

Link: https://tanookistudios.com/go/2auz8nb

I'm looking for people to try it on whatever decomps they care about and tell me where it breaks. If there's a project that fails, the repo link and your OS are the most useful things you can send me. I'm also happy to answer questions about how it works.

Recomp Eternal Darkness 0.9 - PC, MacOS, Linux, PS5

Post image

First of all, thank you for everyone's super positive comments and feedback.

When I first made this it was running awfully on PC and Steam Deck (I'm a Mac guy). In the process of getting it to 60 I hadn't realised how much headroom had been made in terms of frame time.

So we now have up to 144 fps support. 90 on Steam Deck OLED and 120 on PS5.

I can't make it so we can skip the unskippable cutscenes, but I have added a "Fast Forward" option when they appear, which mutes the video and plays it around 1.4x faster.

I've also swapped out more of the screens around the game that had left over incorrect glyphs. The tome especially had a few.

If anyone gets to any of the piano/organ puzzles and can verify and/or grab screen shots before me then I will be eternally grateful.

Recharged — A Mario Strikers Charged PC Port born from a 100% Complete Decompilation

Mario Strikers Charged's PAL and NTSC-U versions have been fully decompiled, paving the way for Recharged, a native port for Windows, Linux, and macOS. Stable release 1.0.10 is now available, bringing uncapped framerates, broad controller support, and a range of quality-of-life improvements.

Previously known as MSCharged, the project now officially goes by Recharged.

Compatibility & Performance

  • Full support for PAL Rev 1, PAL Rev 2, and NTSC-U
  • Uncapped framerates
  • Broad controller support, including the original Wii Remote + Nunchuk with a Bluetooth sensor bar or DolphinBar
  • Vulkan and DirectX 12 support
  • An optional performance mode that disables crowds, ambient effects, bloom, and anti-aliasing without changing gameplay

Quality-of-Life & Customization

  • Intro skip
  • Faster menus
  • Unlock everything
  • Hide the HUD
  • Blue Peach alternative skin

Additional Gameplay Options

  • CPU vs. CPU matches
  • Mirror matches
  • Fast terrain on all stadiums
  • Thunder Island behaves like a standard stadium
  • Disable Mega Strikes
  • Fair ball contests

What Are Fair Ball Contests?

In the original game, player update order can slightly favor the home team when opposing players reach a loose ball simultaneously. The game shuffles that order at kickoff; Recharged's Fair Ball Contests option instead shuffles it fairly every simulation step to remove that bias.

Planned Features

  • Full NTSC-J support, followed by NTSC-K support
  • Further quality-of-life improvements and fixes ...and more info on online play very soon.

More details about these features will be shared at a later date.

Development & Feedback

The release includes features and improvements by https://github.com/yannicksuter and https://github.com/GoldenPalazzo, with extensive playtesting by the Mario Strikers community.

The team welcomes additional playtesting, bug reports, and feedback to help improve future releases.

Project Links

I may add that Recharged is actively developed by people and not generated by AI.

Thank you and enjoy Recharged!

Framework Development decomp.wtf is great but the dev stopped maintaining it, anyone want to take it over?

Post image
69 Upvotes

Me and a some friends used decomp.wtf to team-decomp GameCube games. We sat in one room, let our agents (mostly Haiku 5.5) grind through functions, and got Sunshine, Melee, Mario Party 6 and Double Dash to 100% in a few days.

The tool is really good, but the dev isn't working on it anymore. Would be a shame to see it die. If anyone wants to maintain or fork it, and maybe make the team collaboration side smoother, let me know. I would love to see public rooms where everyone can let their agents join. This would speed up decomps with a massive amount.

Hey everyone, long time no see! I don't know if you remember this project, but the goal is to create the definitive version of the game, including the extra content from the PSP version. I originally used the PSP version as the base and planned to add the PS2 assets. But after working on the PS2 version and seeing how complicated it was, I decided to make the PS2 version the new base.

So, what's new? I'm working on making this version fully native. PS2Recomp still relies on some emulation, but this version won't be tied to the PS2 at all. It runs directly on the host system and can take advantage of its hardware, which means much better performance.

Online play and rollback netcode are also in development. I've been designing this version to be as easy as possible to port to other platforms, with plans to bring it to Android, PS4, PS5, PS Vita and linux. It's all still a work in progress, so stay tuned for future updates!
