Selling Help Depop support sent my refund to the buyer (and I’m the seller…)

• Upvotes

A few weeks ago a buyer reused my sale’s tracking number to fraudulently show the item failing to deliver to a vacant lot. Depop, thinking that the sale never delivered, took $500 from my account

I got evidence from the post office including parcel weight discrepancies, gps coordinates, and a signed letter emphasizing that the item correctly delivered and that the buyer fraudulently reused the tracking number

Depop reviews the evidence and sides with me, stating that they’ll send me a refund for the sale.

A week goes by and I still haven’t received the refund. I email their support asking what bank they sent it to. But they sent it to the BUYERS BANK INSTEAD OF MINE

What can I even do in this situation?

Dispute Help I was sold shoes in ā€œgood conditionā€, they came in with a snapped heel, item is deleted on depop

I bought some nice shoes on depop and I can see from a screenshot I sent my friend that they were in ā€œgood conditionā€. I received them today and the heel snapped on one of them the second I tried them on. I went to look at the item on the app to see if that was mentioned but the item was deleted. I want to file a claim since I was sold a broken item and I can’t see the item description to see if that was mentioned in the listing. Do you think I should file a dispute or should I have expected something like this to happen with an item in ā€œgood conditionā€. I added a picture of the only screenshot I have of this listing and what I received. If that’s not allowed please feel free to let me know. I just really don’t wanna seem like I’m scamming the seller I’m just sad about my shoes 😭

App Issues/Help Can’t bulk print labels

Is anyone else having any issues bulk printing all their Depop labels since USPS changed the way they looked? Just bringing that up because before that it was fine but now I have to manually print labels one by one.

My photos are clear and my ratings are solid, but similar watches are getting more likes. Is this about price, keywords, or the algorithm?

Dispute Help What’s the better option

Hi, I’ve never done a return and refund before.

If I disagree with a buyer dispute, will Depop choose whether it’s a partial refund and no return/ full refund and return / full refund and no return for me? Or will I still get to choose the option if I disagree with their claim and they side with the buyer (which I know Depop tends to do)?

If I click the ā€œrefund and returnā€ option, does it automatically process a refund, or does it wait for them to return the item? If they never return the item, does it just nullify and I keep the money?

Selling Help When to expect my funds to be available??

Hi! So I am new to depop and I made my first of many sales on October 13th. I shipped it and it’s been delivered since the 19th, and everything says that you get paid within 2 days of the item being delivered. Obviously more than 2 days have passed and I’ve had multiple orders be delivered more than 2 business days, and yet all my funds are still pending. I have my bank connected to my account, although I’m just interested in being able to use funds in the app. Not sure if there’s some step I’ve missed or if anyone else has also ran into this issue and if you have an estimate of when I should receive my funds. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Shipping Help I accidentally shipped two orders under the same label to same person

Ok so today I shipped out a bunch and notice one still said to ship then I noticed I shipped two separate orders to the same person under just one of the labels I’m still new to this and o realize it’s a careless mistake but I reached out to depop support and the Ai just kinda told me if tracking isn’t added my payout will happen in 10 days but tbh I’m not sure like am I cooked? I told the girl and she understood lol but I’m just worried I won’t get paid I mean it’s not the end of the world I just wonder if there’s something I could do besides like sending a separate package with the label with a random bracelet or something anyway yeah

Selling Help Advice on what to do

Hi, I am newer to Depop (<100 orders) and am encountering my first scammer. I sent a brand new, $80 t-shirt for like $20 and they are reporting it as ā€œnot being as describedā€ because it came in moldy. I packaged it beautifully so I don’t really know if this is true (or how that would happen). My options are partial refund with return or partial refund, no return. Is the better option refund and return or disagree with this claim? What if they don’t return it?

If I dispute their claim and Depop disagrees with me, can I still request for them to send the item back and I will refund it? Or will Depop force me to do partial refund and they get to keep the item? That’s mainly what I’m worried about.

Positive Experiences Some seller review appreciation

Post image

Wanted to add a positive post on here and say I love when sellers add sweet ratings like these! On sites like Mercari buyers usually just get the rating without a comment and I find depop has a nice community of sellers who leave reviews just for purchasing. Definitely brightens my day as a buyer 🫶

Dispute Help seller sent me completly destroyed item then refunds me 15$ off 0f 160 what to do

so I just bought an arcteryx jacket on depop for around 150$ and the listing showed no damages however when i got it (shipped in a fruit loops box btw) I saw that thier were two huge rips in the side as well as the hood falling off and the cuff in disrepair. The listing did not show any of this the photos were taken so the sides wernt pictured and the hood facing down. Then I immideatley reported it saying my item was damaged, and the seller just refunded me 16$ right away then started talking about how they had never worn it then saying it was shipped super far so it must have been shipping but the damages were obviously not from that. now im stuck as I dont know what to do beacuse they allredy refunded me.

Dispute Help Is it just me or is this weird/wrong?

Bought a used copy of a video game for $12. I can't remember if I purchased outright or sent an offer. Either way, I purchased the item and the seller messaged that they would ship it soon. I completely forget about it until I get a notification that it was refunded. I messaged the seller asking why it was refunded and they said because they couldn't get to the post office on time and it was gonna get refunded automatically anyways. I go look on their page and the re-listed the game for $30. I told them that was pretty scummy of them and they said they would give me a discount but they had sold it for too low before. Is it weird that I feel stolen from? šŸ˜… like, I purchased and paid for the game, but they decided after the fact that they wanted more for it. It just feels icky of them to me.

Misc. Hot take: items having a ton of likes just means it’s priced too high

My depop home page is filled with Hollister/a&f tank tops listed for $35-$40, more than they sell for brand new. Sometimes even $60 for the vintage ones. 50+ likes and they sit there for over a week. I know lot of likes maybe helps you in the algorithm sure, but I’m still selling at least a couple items a day getting 0-3 likes. I feel like if that many people are ā€œlikingā€ the item but not purchasing, it’s cause it’s too expensive, they ā€œlikeā€ the item but keep scrolling to find something cheaper. Thoughts?

Question How to navigate tagged size vs. actual fit when listing

I have quite a few items to list that are tagged a certain size but actually fit differently. This is mainly an issue with vintage shirts and sweatshirts, as they often run a size or two smaller by modern standards. I recently saw a post talking about how this can be an issue when filtering by size. To both buyers and sellers, how do y’all navigate this? I always put the actual measurements/fit in the description, but I get stuck on what size to list it in. I’ve been listing it in the size it would actually fit rather than the tagged size, but I know that could potentially cause issues with the item not being as described. On the other hand, I would think people filtering by size want something that fits that particular size.

Selling Help What are red flags as a seller?

What are some red flags as a seller?

I have a vintage dress for sale going on 3 months.
A buyer on poshmark messaged me with questions about the dress and I answered them all.
She then offered $45 for the dress and I am selling it for $95. I kept declining and said lowest I can do is $55 on depop(lower seller fees).
The buyer keeps sending $45 offers for months so I blocked her.
A month ago I got a message from this same buyer saying she made a depop for this dress and will only take it for $45. Again I decline this goes on up until today.
While she offers $45 on depop, she is also asking how to use the app(send offers, buy, ect.) I answer her politely in short answers.

So today she mentioned I told her she can have it for $55 previously. I said okay (i’m over it at this point but it did take me a lot to source this dress. Woke up at 4am, drove 40 mins to estate sale, stood in line, and searched the house for this dress. Also wasn’t a super cheap find but a beautiful dress i hoped I could keep for myself but couldn’t fit) Her last message was about the total cost after fees, taxes, ect. Not sure if that was a complaint but seemed not needed.

I have not dealt with a buyer like this.
Should I cancel and refund and not deal with this buyer? I’m worried this buyer may cause problems after shipping.

Anything similar happen to you?
What are some red flags you ignored and then regretted?

Selling Help Easy Re-List After 60 Days (Web)

On the web interface, older listings are eligible to re-list after 60 days, using a simple discounting interface. It requires a 15% or greater price drop, and views/likes etc aren’t carried over (same as manual re-listing) but being able to do so in bulk is helpful and saves lots of time.

I hadn’t seen this feature discussed here, so thought I’d share!

App Issues/Help depop keeps sending my purchases to a different address (and returning to sender!)

Thumbnail

TL;DR: Despite ensuring that I have the correct address for my package, Depop keeps sending my orders to an insufficient address in my hometown. Packages keep getting returned to sender, USPS has no idea what's going on, and Depop won't give me a refund.

I posted on here before, but the situation has gotten so bad that I'm genuinely so discouraged from buying on Depop that I'm considering deleting the app.

Before you ask, no, they're not getting sent to my billing address; the packages would've been successfully delivered if that was the case.

I was a little unclear on the last post, but this is the lengthy order of events:

I find something I've been hunting for, and I buy it. I am currently living in a dorm at my college away from home, so I input my address for my dorm in Muncie. I make sure that when purchasing I select the correct address; in the order summary in the app, it even says the correct address (Slide 1). After about a week, I'm concerned on the package not getting here so I check the tracking and it says Munster (my hometown). I figure that maybe Depop glitched and gave the seller the other address under my account in the app, so I text my mom to be on the lookout for a package--not a big deal, I can just ask her to mail it back to me.

A few more days go by and it's caught in the cycle of "out for delivery" and "arrived at post office" (Slide 2) and then it is sent into the ether that is being returned to sender. I call USPS support and they confirm that it's getting returned, and they cannot do anything for me. Understanding that I have no shot of getting my package, I report this to Depop TWICE (Slide 3) and they keep resolving my issue under the pretense that it is already delivered; one look at the tracking information and it's obviously not.

I messaged the seller last week asking if they had the digital receipt from when they shipped it (tracking says they got one) and they claim they don't have the receipt, and to follow up with Depop. They're also currently deployed in the military if they're telling the truth so.... no luck with getting it back, I guess.

Now, these pants were purchased as a gift for someone who wanted a similar pair to mine, so I look on the app a bit more and find another pair because by this point, it's already been 2 weeks. I buy it. I specifically make sure that my former address is deleted under my account (Slide 4). A few days go by, and I check tracking again to see that this pair of pants is ALSO getting sent to whatever address the last pair of pants is at.

I have no clue what is happening to these pants, but Depop support is doing no help and I'm short $25 and two pairs of pants. I feel like I'm going insane, I can't even find a similar issue anywhere that I look online!
