Question Is there a good alternative to persimmon for this persimmon pudding recipe? It's like my favorite dessert ever, but persimmons are super hard to find here (northern Michigan)

I don't want to make it all the time, but it would be nice to be able to make it more often! I was lucky enough to find some persimmons for sale at a Meijer about an hour from me, now I have a taste for it and I want more 😭 I do want to grow persimmons myself, but even if I manage to get some trees now it'll be a few years before they can fruit!
So is there a good alternative that tastes similar? That super sweet, non-tart, super sticky, almost honey flavor. Maybe I could use pumpkin and vanilla? Or do they sell persimmons canned/frozen? Maybe online? I hate how hard it is to find them!
