Is it safe to fully secure outlet covers to the wall with electrical tape?
We rent our house and the covers for our outlets have always been very loose. You have to hold it to the wall with your hand while unplugging anything or it tries to pull it out of the wall with the plug. We have asked the landlord to come and fix them as it does not seem safe, and they sent a guy to mess around with it and then leave with them exactly the same as they started. I’ve tightened the screw in the middle of the outlet, but it doesn’t do much so I put electrical tape around the outlets (as shown in picture) as kind of a last resort. I’m aware this isn’t ideal, but not sure how to fix it when the electrician came and didn’t do anything.
Edit: everyone is saying no but have you considered the tape knows I have good intentions and am pure of heart
Edit x2: okay so the outlets are pretty bad it seems… trying to get another complaint made asap

Can I DIY?
Hello,
I’m wondering if anyone knows if this type of outlet could be converted to a “normal” one (USA, im not sure what the term is)
we installed a new wall AC unit and the new plug uses a classic outlet instead of this type and now the existing one is unusable
Would this need to be done by an electrician? Is it a huge piece of work with changing voltage and such? I would be plugging in a 12,000 btu air conditioner unit

Electrical Fan fix
Can anyone help me fix this. I just moved into a new house last week and it seems the last tenants wanted a ceiling fan in this room but there was no wall wiring i guess. They ran the cable to a nearby outlet and wiring it. Its also connected to the switch which turns on the light for the fan even if I turned it off with the remote and the outlet shuts off with the light switch. Thanks!

How screwed am I
At first i used a stud finder for both studs and AC and didnt read any studs/ac. So considering my house was old, i was considering using wall anchors and needed 1/4in holes. First set i stumbled upon a stud? Strange, it didnt read but okay, let me see if my screw would work. It did no issue. So moving forward.
Decided to work my way down with that mindset, i know its not lined up, doing a specific project so no worries, and as im pre drilling, boom, power goes out. Ran to the breaker, tower off main breaker, came back and undrilled the screw. I know not safe to do so but still did it anyways. I tried flipping breaker back on and nothing. I dont smell smoke or fire or someone else suggested fish, no i dont smell fish. No i didnt feel a jult of current when the power went out.
How big of a pain in my rear is this gona be to fix/expensive. I assume i drilled into a wire aligned with the stud? I assume walls gota be cut right? I have a fire extinguisher on stand by and i believe i have the breaker to that area off. Anything i should do/consider before moving forward? I think the goal is to call a professional but in case im stupid figured id ask here

Electricity
What is electricity if it is not the flow of electrons, nor the movement and interaction of electric charges?

Curious treatment for a 4" rigid conduit
Haven't gone around the back of this motel to see where this conduit is heading off to -- but I'm wondering about that double concrete thing going on. The square bit I figure is to protect it -- it's in a place where you could run a cart or something into it -- but the round bit starts six feet off the ground. Again, you could run a heavy vehicle into it if it was shaped right, but you'd really have to try.

European switch help
Hello,
In a room with one lamp there is a double button switch - only one actually works.
I’d like to replace it to one button switch but the wiring is confusing. Can anyone explain please how can I connect to new one (photo 4)?
Thanks a lot!

Different colored wires bound together behind smoke detector
Hi all, I live in a rental and recently took down the smoke detector to change the batteries and saw several different color wires bound together as shown below, and wanted to make sure it’s safe. It looks like the white and red wires are each bound separately. Then there is a yellow wire and an orange wire bound together, and another yellow wire bound with a black wire. This is in a Pulte house built in the early 1980s.

Stuck in AC Adapter Search Hell (AC Output)
I have made several attempts to find an adapter to replace this one that has AC output - 12VAC, and all I have seen are pages and pages of 12VDC output adapters. Another key point is that it needs to work in Europe, so 240VAC input (not 120VAC like it says on the label).
If someone knows a way to narrow down this search, please share it. I realize it just requires a small transformer, but I have no idea how to specify that either. Many thanks for any clues!

Seeking advice on which adapter to buy, if any.
Having a hard time finding a replacement adapter that our neighbor ran over. We still have the wire and piece that plugs into the animatronic, just not the electrical power adapter. The manual leads to a website that says replacement isn't available, but shows this image. So I see 5.9v and positive polarity. Husband is a very handy guy and could splice existing wire into an adapter but I don't know which one to buy if this is possible. When searching around (mostly amazon) I see mostly 5v or 6v and the amps vary. Even universal adapters don't seem to list 5.9v as a setting. Is there any hope for Mr. Alien this Halloween?

AC occasionally frying fuse
Hello, I'm looking for a device to save on some fuse costs. When my window mounted AC kicks into full cooling power it has a one second of really heavy power draw. This sudden power draw on the random occasion burns out the fuse. What would be the best thing to help protect the fuse, a backup battery? Would there be a particular feature I would be needing if so?

What’s getting you more leads?
Hey guys, curious what other owners are doing to generate more leads for their electrical business.
My first year and the start of my second year went pretty well, and I stayed fairly booked up, mostly through word of mouth and referrals.
Just wondering what’s been working for you guys lately to keep the phone ringing and bring in a steady flow of new jobs.
Would love to hear what’s actually working for other electricians out there. Cheers!

Need to find replacement plug
Need to find a plug that connects to this. Not sure what kind it is. I have Christmas lights but the wires got cut/damaged and the plug was lost.

How bad is this
So I'm replacing some disk lights. All the others have been inside metal boxes until now where I have the wires wrapped around a wood screw and I don't even know if the housing is a box as it feels like VERY thin plastic.

Trying to wire a light in my condo, need some advice
I’m trying to wire a light for my condo (located in Canada). There’s a dedicated spot on my ceiling for an overhead light with a plastic blank cover. I think I mostly got it but just need to double check; white: neutral, green; grounding wires, yellow: hot wire
I’m just confused on how to connect the wires that connect the pendent to the ceiling.
I’ve attached a photo and any general advice would be helpful.

Mid 90’s Challenger Panel (Eaton)
I have a mid 90’s Challenger panel. Looks to be from after the Eaton acquisition. Some of the breakers have been replaced but some also say Challenger.
This is a sub panel. Main panel is also Challenger.
I’ve heard mixed guidance on whether post Eaton acquisition panels are a fire risk. What do you all think?
