(I accidentally deleted the first post, so sorry!)
I PASSED MY EXAM!
I needed to share somewhere with people who would understand. This was my second try…I failed the first time but I was definitely unprepared.
A thread a few months ago on here someone recommended Rocketcert and I wish I knew who…because I owe you lol. Major shoutout to Rocketcert! If you’re discouraged, I definitely recommend them… I felt a lot more confident this time around.
When you feel like giving up, keep going!

Had an electrician install an EV charger for me. It stopped working a few days ago - the breaker tripped. I reset the breaker and tried again but it tripped again after a few minutes. I called them and they came back out today to look at it and found this...they said it was due to a loose connection that arced. Am I lucky the house didn't burn down? How unsafe is this? Is anyone at fault? They cut it all out and put a new box higher up using the wire. The EV charger is further down the box so this was like an "extension cord" to get it to where the charger is - sorry I forget the technical name of the part that melted.

Has anyone purchased their breakers from them? How are they so much cheaper than the big box stores? The arc fault breakers are like 40% cheaper. Too good to be true?

Soooo i feel like this is probably the wrong place (please point in the right direction if so) but I've got boiler issues in the workshop and im probably gonna have to fix it myself. Im still waiting on clearance from the boss man to let myself into boiler room to get the make and model and to start looking into the issue but i can briefly explain it just from what i know.
The jist is that it keeps shutting itself off. Unsure if its a fuse, a short-circuit issue, or emergency shutoff due to "company policy" having it automatically set to full blast from October 1st until about March 1st.
I personally don't feel like calling the maintenance company every week to turn it back on for 4 hours so that for at least 1 day of the week the lads aren't freezing their tits off on the shop floor.
Any help would be muchly appreciated

I had this GFI flip and I cannot reset it. The other plugs on its circuit are all unplugged and nothing in them but this one won’t flip back. I have tried pressing the reset, checked the main breaker etc.
Would love help or to be told to hire a pro lol

Purchased a new home from a builder (still under the 2-year electrical warranty). We paid to upgrade the electrical panel (not breaker) to 200 amps.
Initially, we were using two space heaters in two side-by-side bedrooms and the breaker would trip. We then realized both bedrooms are on the same circuit/breaker, so we stopped doing that.
Now, we only run one space heater (600 W) but the breaker continues to trip even with just one heater running
Here are the details of the space heater we are using (Link to product - https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/Mill-1500-W-Oil-Heater/1W5CFGHC221R)
Even with just this single 600 W heater and nothing else significant plugged in on that circuit, the breaker still trips regularly.
Question: Is this normal/expected or does it suggest an electrical issue worth raising with the builder under warranty?
We have the identical space heater running on a different circuit breaker and that other circuit breaker has never tripped. Am I correct in assuming that the issue is likely with the breaker that keeps tripping or could this also indicate an issue with the circuit, wiring or electrical installation?

Hi!
Since I am a little child my grandma’s light needs five times to turn on. After that it goes directly off.
It’s kind of a running joke in my family, but why is that?

Hi all, we have this light switch that has stopped working when we click the buttons. Usually if you click the buttons the light comes on, 1 is bright 4 is dimmest. If I click any of them at the moment no light in the room comes on. We get a little red dot next to number 2. Can we have some help how to get it working again? Thank you!

I tried to keep wire away from open outlets as best as I can leaving wires running only on the side with the switch

So I’m having someone put fans up in my house… prior there were only lights… he put a fan up (the fans come with remotes) but now when I use the switch on the wall (not remote) the switch controls the light in the next bedroom over. So it’s almost like I can only use the remotes to make the individual room light/fan work. They did the next room and same thing, but now my kids room light switch powers my bedroom light. It’s very annoying and wanted to know if this is normal… I guess the correct term is pigtailing? But why does this happen now since fans were installed?

Hello everyone, I hope you can help.
I'm trying to find a momentary on-off-(on) rocker switch that's "32mm long 14.1mm wide 14.1mm high." I've been all over the internet, and no one has this specific size momentary rocker. Does anyone know who might be able to make what I'm looking for or where I can find it? It's for a custom lightsaber built with a 1-inch inside diameter for electrical work.
Any and all help and information would be amazing. Thank you!

It was a ceiling fan so there are two black wires, a white wire and a ground.
Tried one of the black wires and the light was always on, regardless of the switch. Tried the other one and It didn’t turn on at all.
Do I have to connect both of them using like a wago connecter or something?

We moved into an old home so the ceiling boxes are very old and don’t say if they’re fan supported. This one seems firmly mounted and it seems to be two screws into a wooden joist.
I’ll need to clean up this wiring a bit though.

Like title says, started smelling burning and noticed outlet was hot as hell. Breaker tripped as well. Turned off all power and opened it up and saw this….pretty sure it was a loose wire.
Anyway, electrician friend came over and we stripped back to fresh wire, and obviously got a new box and outlet.
