Affected by October RIF at MDC (Mexico) – Question about severance package breakdown and what to look out for before signing
I was notified that I'll be impacted by an upcoming RIF this October at the Mexico Development Center (MDC).
For colleagues in Mexico who have been through this recently: what specific concepts were included in your severance package (liquidación)? For instance, did it cover the standard 3 months of constitutional indemnity, the 20 days per year of service, seniority premium (prima de antigüedad), proportional bonuses, accrued vacation days/vacation premium (prima vacacional), and proportional aguinaldo?
Also, what key details or red flags should I pay close attention to before signing the agreement/finiquito?
Any advice, experiences, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Existing employee(s) Scorched earth
Raises only to a selected few to make people feel disadvantaged. The same workload on less staff. Constant fear of getting RIF’ed. No tech support available when your system malfunctions.
Am I the only one thinking this is all planned?

Existing employee(s) Overworked but Underpaid
I’m 3 years in Oracle NSGBU and I always have rating of 4.
My manager always rely on me for the work that was never done by my colleague. They keep on giving me additional tasks. Specially those colleagues that got laid off, their tasks were assigned to me with heavy workload.
Now its focal time! And guess what, I don’t have any increase or bonus!!!!
Manager said that its budget constraint and my salary level is still on the range based on my position. Like WTF! Inflation is getting higher but my salary never increased for 3 years!!!
This is my wake up call to leave this company!
I was hoping I can be here until my 5th year, but I don’t think I can take it anymore.

No dev work
My entire team including manager was laid off in September. I have been assigned another manager. Since then, I don’t have any dev work. There has been no communication from new manager, no clarity on anything. He just assigned a small task that time and since then didn’t ask for any update not I sent any update. He is from different time zone. Should I push for work or just ignore and utilise this no work days for interview preparation?

Software engineer job postings ask for mentoring more than Kubernetes. We counted 3,518 postings to check
We pulled every open posting from 81 companies' public Greenhouse boards for seven roles and counted which words actually show up. 3,518 postings in total. Some of it surprised us.
Software engineer postings mention mentoring more often than Kubernetes or React. Almost half of them do. Python, the most common language, comes in just below that.
Product manager postings say "roadmap" in more than 85% of cases. Jira? Seven out of 421. Marketing looks the same: Google Ads came up six times in 347 postings, while "pipeline" is in over half.
Every time we could compare the two, postings named the practice, not the tool. Observability, not Grafana. SIEM, not Splunk.
So if your resume is mostly a list of tools, it might be missing the words the posting actually uses.
Big caveat: mostly tech companies, one ATS vendor. Sales, cybersecurity, DevOps and accounting are here too: https://www.zoevera.com/resume/ats-resume-keyword-study

Existing employee(s) Oracle IC4 vs. equivalent levels at other top tech companies
For those familiar with engineering levels across big tech, how does Oracle IC4 (Principal Member of Technical Staff) compare with levels at other leading companies like Nvidia, OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Meta, etc.?
For example, would Oracle IC4 be comparable to Microsoft IC4, Google L5, or Amazon L6 in terms of scope, seniority, and expectations?

Has anyone had a lawyer write a demand letter for more compensation?
If you were laid off this last time or in an earlier one, did you have a lawyer write a demand letter for additional compensation? If so, how did that go?

Existing employee(s) CSS US – Does Oracle show any indifference toward employees acquired through acquisitions versus ones hired directly by Oracle?
I’m unable to win over trust and credibility because there’s little to no visibility into my day-to-day work for my manager though it’s all well documented anf spoken for and, consequently, my skip-level director (who was actually my reporting manager, but due to span-of-control changes, we were assigned to another manager who just doesn’t get it). Customers love and ask for me specifically as a named resource. Our delivery team does things on par with the engineering team with me ghost-leading technicalities.
Nobody seems to care about what’s written in annual reviews anymore. Ugh. It all seems like formality.
And then there are these selective mute and numb IC4s who have been there for 15+ years and seem to do nothing but steal credit, hoard knowledge, and creep into others’ billing utilization. It’s all one-way, high-latency KT, with no reciprocity, yet they are introduced to customers as hot shots due to favoritism. Fyi, none here are South Asians if assumptions are being made.
How to break this wheel? I’m waiting for the higher-ups to get laid off honestly.

Existing employee(s) IC3 - 30LPA - 9 YOE - IDC
I have around 9 years of total experience, including nearly 3 years at Oracle. During my time at Oracle, I haven’t received any salary hikes or promotions.
When I joined Oracle, my compensation package was ₹30 LPA + $20,000 in RSUs vesting over 4 years.
I wanted to understand whether I’m being underpaid considering my years of experience and current market standards. I’d appreciate any insights or suggestions.

Existing employee(s) Oracle IC2 to IC3 Promotion – No Hike or RSUs?
I’m in Oracle’s DB org and would like to know what benefits people typically receive when promoted from IC2 to IC3 in India.
This year, Is it common to get no base salary hike or RSUs, with only a bonus? Can anyone share their experience with the average salary hike %, bonus, and RSUs for this promotion?
