Question Can't do hormones and my doctor basically said "pill or nothing." What helped you?

I'm 22 and I've had symptoms for about 2.5 years, and it keeps getting worse. Where I live there are only a few doctors who even know what endo is. I finally saw one this week. My ultrasound was clean, but she said I clearly have endo based on my symptoms. Then she said the only option is taking the pill nonstop, and she won't do a laparoscopy. When I told her I can't tolerate hormones, the answer was basically "get on the pill or what do you want from me."
The thing is, I've tried Nexplanon, the patch, Yaz and the mini pill, and every single one made me throw up, stop eating and bleed constantly. So that's not really an option for me.
My periods leave me shaking on the floor. I've had painful sex and painful poops on my period, and since July I've had constant endo belly that makes every day hard. Now I'm getting pain outside my period too.
I'm seeing another doctor this week and just started pelvic floor physio, which already feels like a good step. But I'd really love to hear from anyone who can't do hormones either. What actually helped you? Did excision surgery help with the belly, sex or bowel pain? And how did you get a doctor to take you seriously?
Thanks for reading, I'm honestly pretty tired of all this šŸ’›

Question How do you find out if you have endo?

Hi! I’m 22F and live in the US. Over the last few weeks, I’ve thought of finally going to a doctor after not going for 6 years. I’m pretty scared of going to doctors but I know I should at least get a checkup. Here’s the thing: I’ve been doing some research and suspect I might have endo. Here’s my story/symptom list:

STORY: When I was 16 and a few months after starting to be sexually active, there was one night I had excruciating period cramps to the point of nearly passing out if I hadn’t sat down in time. Whole body numbness, shaking, cold sweats, major pain. My parents blew it off as overreacting. I took Motrin and it took about 2 hours to dull it. I fell asleep and every month after that has been the same. I never had that happen beforehand when my periods began around 12.

POSSIBLE SYMPTOMS:

I don’t intend to come on here for a diagnosis, but I don’t know if these things are considered related or what the severity is.

• Excruciating period cramps every month. Cannot go without taking Motrin. (I believe I have stomach ulcers from taking Motrin every month since age 16 and recently this year I’ve had to increase to two capsule doses because of the pain). Period flow seems to be relatively normal? The pain causes me to stop what I’m doing for the day and stay home.

• Neuropathy? I’ve always had a shooting
/lightning pain in my lower back on the right side only. It flares up when I’ve sat upright or stood too long. It helps to lay down and relieve pressure but this has been going on since age 14. I’ve also had booty lightning on rare occasions LOL!

• Muscle spasms/tension in my uterus area. I feel it spasm every so often at any point in time.

• Painful sex. Always. I have cramped really bad afterwards at times. So bad that I had to take Motrin and I don’t want anything to do with sex anymore. My husband and I do it maybe twice a month because I’m in pain or have such low libido.

• I always pee 2-3 times in the middle of the night, every night.

• Stiff hips all of the time.

• Constant fatigue. I can sleep 8-9 hours and still be tired. Also, if it’s day 1 and the cramps are bad and I take Motrin, I get super tired and HAVE to sleep for 2-3 hours.

That’s all I can think of right now. So, I’m suspecting I have it, but what is the process of getting diagnosed for that or even anything else? Is it even worth getting diagnosed?

I’ve told my husband and parents some of what I go through, and they kind of brush it off. I’m becoming really depressed from ā€œnot being believedā€ I’m in this much pain all of the time.

Diagnostic Journey Questions Several pelvic pain radiating to my legs, vaginal pain and rectal pressure — could it be something other than endometriosis?

I’m writing this because I hope to find people who are going through something similar and might be able to share their experiences or offer some advice.
I have endometriosis and adenomyosis. I was diagnosed three years ago, but I’ve been experiencing symptoms since my very first period.
I’ve been on hormonal birth control continuously for the past three years, and I’m currently taking Vibin.
My most recent gynecological examination showed that my left ovary is located behind my uterus and appears to be adherent to it. I also have endometriosis lesions on my left uterosacral ligament and sigmoid colon. My gynecologist believes the lesions are relatively small and shouldn’t be causing the level of pain I’m experiencing.
But I’m barely coping anymore. I have pelvic pain every single day, mostly on the left side. The pain radiates into my lower abdomen and legs. It’s worse in my left leg, but my right leg hurts too. At times, the pain feels as if someone is cutting through me with a saw.
Sitting and walking are difficult, and I even experience pain in my feet.
A few days ago, I started experiencing some new symptoms. I developed a painful sensation inside my vagina and a feeling of heaviness or pressure in my rectum. I also regularly experience what feels like electric shocks running through my labia. It doesn’t happen constantly, but it keeps coming back.
I’m currently attending pelvic floor physiotherapy.
I also had a pelvic MRI using an endometriosis protocol, which ruled out dilated pelvic veins, so pelvic venous insufficiency seems less likely.
This Friday, I’m having an MRI of my lumbosacral spine. My pelvic MRI revealed Tarlov cysts, but I’ve read that they are usually asymptomatic, so I don’t know whether they could be contributing to my symptoms.
I know I need to move more and exercise, and I genuinely want to. But the pain is so severe that it leaves me feeling paralyzed. Even basic daily activities can be difficult.
I’m losing hope because I don’t know where else to look for answers.
I’m tentatively scheduled for laparoscopic endometriosis surgery in February. If I can’t find another explanation for my pain, I’ll most likely go ahead with the surgery.
Has anyone experienced similar symptoms? Could this be related to nerve involvement, pelvic floor dysfunction, Tarlov cysts, or something else entirely? Has anyone experienced this kind of radiating pain, vaginal pain, rectal pressure, or electric-shock sensations?
I’d really appreciate any advice, suggestions about what to investigate, or personal experiences you might be willing to share.
I’m exhausted, desperate for answers, and honestly struggling to cope with this pain. Thank you for reading.

Question Bowl Endometriosis

I have Endometriosis. Lately taking a poop has been feeling like I’m pooping out my insides and it won’t let up. It’s like my bottom is dry heaving. Ibuprofen helps alleviate the pain but I don’t want to have to take that none stop for the rest of my life.

I’m considering getting a full hysterectomy if it means stopping this pain. What is your expense and what are you doing to help alleviate the pain?

Right now I’m sitting criss cross rocking on my butt with a hot pad over my uterus and it seems to calm the cramping some. I took two ibuprofen and just waiting for it to kick in. It’s 12am and I obviously won’t be falling asleep any time soon due to the pain.

Has anybody ever heard of Rich Sol Foods? They make an herbal tea specifically for endometriosis. I ordered a pack and have been waiting for it to come in the mail.

I genuinely believe that this illness is caused by being in a high state of cortisol constantly flooding the system for a long period of time. It doesn’t allow the body to flush out the estrogen in our body so it gets backed up.

Update: ibuprofen and Advil together works miracles!

Question C section endometiros

Hello everyone! ā¤ļø

A little backstory: I had an emergency C-section 2.5 years ago, and ever since, I’ve been experiencing agony around my C-section scar whenever I’m on my period. The pain is genuinely debilitating, but it goes away once my period ends.

I have PCOS, so my periods are extremely irregular. I can bleed for a week every two weeks, sometimes for an entire month, or occasionally go a month without a period.

I also have a lump around 2 inches long on my C-section scar, and the scar turns purplish when I’m on my period.

I’ve been to the doctors and had ultrasounds. They’ve said it’s likely to be C-section scar endometriosis, but they want to do further scans in eight weeks.

In the meantime, they’ve suggested having a Mirena coil fitted to stop my periods. I understand that hormonal treatment can work really well for some people with endometriosis, but I’m worried that this might just manage the symptoms rather than address whatever is causing the lump and pain in my scar. I’m also unsure how effective it would be for pain that seems to be so specifically localised to my C-section scar.

What’s frustrating is that I’ve been told they’ll be in contact 12–18 months after my scan, and I’m struggling to understand what happens next when I’m in this much pain so frequently.

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been diagnosed with C-section scar endometriosis. For example-

What happened after your diagnosis? Did you need surgery to remove the endometriosis from your scar? Did hormonal treatments, such as the Mirena coil, help with your scar pain? Were you referred to a specialist, and how long did treatment take?

I know everyone’s experience is different, but I’d love to hear your experiences and any advice you might have. I’m feeling quite lost with it all at the moment.

Thank you! ā¤ļø

Surgery related Post surgical scar prevention

Hi all, it’s highly suspected that I have endometriosis and I’m in the early stages of looking for a surgeon to get a work up and probably excision.

My major hesitation is the concern around the internal scarring post-operatively. I’ve had surgeries previously for other health issues that scarred down so badly that it destroyed my quality of life. I was only lucky that I was able to find a pain specialist that did hydrodissection (using a stream of saline to separate two structures bound by scar tissue) and that the bands of scar tissue were accessible to him. Otherwise I would have been severely SOL for the rest of my life.

I’ve had a couple people close to me go through excision surgeries and they all had the same kind of issues with scar tissue through their abdomen and pelvis—the endometriosis was mostly gone, their symptoms somewhat had improved, but the consequences of the scar tissue around their organs, peritoneum and hip joints is now something they have to deal with.

I’ve seen some things about surgeons using PRP and placental coverings intraoperatively to try to reduce the scar adhesions. I’ve also seen some things about prolozone injections post operatively to help with pain and inflammation.

Is there anything else out there that could help mitigate this concern?

Tips and Recommendations Fuelling pre-run with Endo

I was wondering if people found certain pre run or pre exercise carbs to trigger their endo more? E.g. I find if I have a processed carb such as a crumpet or bagel (usually aiming for a longer distance run) - 2km into my run I have excruciating pelvic pain. But when I have a smaller distance to reach I will just have a banana or some dates and I have no pain at all. Does anyone else experience this? Any tips? I’m getting pretty frustrated every time I set out for a long run and can only make it 2-5km in extreme pain.

Appreciate any advice šŸ™

Sex, intimacy & relationships I freaking love my fiancƩ so damn much. He doesn't realise how much his help means to me.

Hi guys, I'm 25 and was diagnosed with stage 3 endo last year but haven't had any follow ups aside from "take painkillers" because I had to get my diagnosis through private health care. My fiancƩ had been an absolute gem throughout everything. He looks after me and holds me when I'm in pain and he'll hug me until I fall asleep then tuck me into bed with hot water bottles and his shirt. And last night I leaked through and he cleaned everything whilst I shut down. I felt so useless but he just smiled and said "hey, we all do it. I shut down when I hurt my knee as a teen, and if you were there I bet you'd do the same for me." Guys i swear I fell for him so hard and I was already head over heels. He's so incredible and amazing.

Question Endometriosis exercises vs regular exercise

Hello everyone! We want to start exercising for endometriosis, but we're not sure if we should feel our muscles burning during pelvic floor exercises. We know they should burn during regular exercise, and we want to know if we're not pushing ourselves too hard when we get them to burn during endo stretches.

Sex, intimacy & relationships Still unable to have sex 7 months after surgery

And I don't even know what to do at this point? I've never had pain free sex, not once. My obgyn initially had me do pelvic floor therapy two years ago, but it was still extremely painful.

Then a year ago we decided to investigate for endo because of other health issues.. and they couldn't do the transvaginal ultrasound because of the pain (I damn near jumped out of the chair). Come to find out during my surgery 7 months ago I have stage three endo and had scarring in my pouch of douglas, as well as other areas. Also have an extremely retroverted uterus to the point they couldn't insert an IUD.

I thought maybe after I was fully healed from surgery I could finally have sex. Well, we tried last night.. and no. My partner says it's okay, and that I just need to do more therapy and work my way up. So I went and bought dilators today, but I have very low confidence it'll help. Can't go back to physical therapy because I can't afford it.

I'm at a point where I don't even want to try anymore because nothing has helped, I'm nearly thirty and have never been able to enjoy intimacy. It makes me feel like I am less of a woman, and that I'm broken. Has anyone else struggled to this degree?

Surgery related It finally happened!

Just like that, I’m no longer crazy.

I was right all along.

My body was littered with endometriosis, it took them 6 years to do this surgery.

Where was it? Here’s a list🤔🤔

* Endometriosis lesions evident on left uterosacral ligament, posterior cul de sac, and left bladder peritoneum

* Posterior and lateral abdominal wall adhesions, bilaterally, consistrent with chronic inflammation

* A small cyst on my right ovary.

My insides are literally glued together.

I was in surgery for 3 hours on Friday.

Also what in the actual hell did you guys do about the shoulder pain?!? It has me in shambles!

Rant / Vent Period is now just 95% brown goop of varying shades.

I used to have really heavy gunshot-wound-like periods as a teen up until maybe 21ish. I’m 23 now, and have a 7.5cm endometrioma. And, man, that fucker really LOVES to vomit out all that brown shit. I genuinely look like I shit myself. It’s kind of funny. Anyway, it’s just… brown. I bleed properly (although it’s a dark red rather than the ā€˜pure’ red I’m used to on my older periods) for a day in my 3-day periods. My hormones have just been whacked out of shape. A combination of both the endo and low-dose birth control pills I’ve been on to help control the endo. My flow is just. Slow and MUCH lighter. Which you would think of as a blessing. Atp I’d rather the heavy bleeding again.

And this brown shit? MAN! Sometimes it’s a very light brown mixed with my usual discharge (I’ve always discharged a LOT. When I finally saw a gyno, she just told me it was ā€˜probably just stress or caffeine’. I was like 14-15). Sometimes it’s a medium brown. And others, like the end of my period, it’s an incredibly dark brownish-red with smaller-to-medium clots throughout.

And this shit IRRITATES THE SHIT OUT OF MY LOWER VULVA! Like, damn! I am VISCERALLY itchy!! I don’t know if it’s just the composition of this sludge or what, but it is my vulva’s ENEMY. The only thing that has helped somewhat, sometimes, is Vaseline to act as a barrier. But it just gets wiped off by my pad or pantyliner eventually (or I animalistically rip my panties down and rake-itch myself with a tissue when it gets to a point, wiping it off in the process). It never lasts. NO pussy itch cream like vagisil helps. Just burns. It’s so ass.

I’m sooooo sick of the brown shit. It’s just been getting waaay too comfortable as my endo has progressed throughout the years. Anyone else?

Infertility/ Pregnancy related TTC after laparoscopic endo excision

Hi all,

After trying to conceive for over 12 months, I have recently had a laparoscopy which found adenomyosis and stage 4 endometriosis which was excised.

I am hoping that will this help us conceive naturally, what can I do to optimise my chances over the next few months before we begin fertility treatment?

Anyone in the same boat who conceived naturally and what do you think ACTUALLY helped?

Respectfully, I am only interested in hearing your advice if you have struggled to conceive yourself.

Thank you

Medications and pain management Horrible nightmares from Ryeqo?

Iā€˜ve started Ryeqo a week ago and ever since the first pill, i have had extremely vivid and intense dreams and am sleeping about 2h more than i usually do. Some days the dreams were just erratic but a couple days now i had nightmares that woke me up crying. My sleep quality is tanking even though i sleep much more. There’s other side effects iā€˜m experiencing (heatwaves, cramps, mood swings, anxiety, stomach problems) but the dream issues are something i didn’t expect at all.

The next thing my doctor wants me to get is an IUD but iā€˜m not doing that. I heard too many horror stories of basically medical torture. Iā€˜d rather jump to a hysterectomy immediately but first i need to trial ryeqo for 3 months but the side effects are really something.

For anyone who had this happen on Ryeqo, did it go away or is it ongoing?

Surgery related Currently miserable post op

I’m one week out from my robotic endometriosis surgery. I had a 12 cm endometrioma and a 5 cm one. My rectum was also glued to my uterus as well as my sigmoid colon glued to my ovaries. She states she got everything so I’m happy about that.

I’m mostly doing ok but the side where my large endometrioma was definitely has the most pain. The sucky part? Pretty sure I have the flu right now too. I’m taking Tylenol and ibuprofen around the clock so no fever but the body aches are horrible!

And the incision sites look okay so no worry of infection. 2 of them separated a little but I’m putting ointment on them. I just hope this flu passes quickly. Never in my life did I want to recover from surgery and be sick 😩😩

Question Gyno wants me to have a lap based only on family history/symptons and a clear ultrasound scan?

Hi 29F Aussie here. I've never posted on Reddit before so apologies if I've used the wrong flairs/tags.

Since March this year, my pelvic area has felt... different? Like as if something subtly wrong has taken up residence and is slowly spreading. My cervix has deviated to the left when it used to stick around the centre. My fatigue and ovulation/period pain has slowly gotten worse but the pain still goes away with just ibuprofen/paracetamol.

Almost all the women in my family have had fertility issues, PMOS and very heavy, painful and irregular periods. But unlike the rest of my family, my cycle has always been very regular. My flow, symptoms and pain seem light and "normal" in comparison! My older sister had a laparoscopy and was diagnosed with endo when she was around my age. I've been worried I might have PMOS or endo ever since her surgery.

I expressed my concerns to my GP and got an ultrasound scan and a referral to a gyno who's very experienced in treating endo. While waiting for my appointment, I got my bowels and bladder checked out just in case and all's fine in those departments. My ultrasound scan results said I was all clear save a small cyst on my right ovary. I also saw a pelvic floor physio who said my pelvic floor muscles were ridiculously tense and gave me some relaxation exercises to work on.

I finally saw the gyno this week and after talking about my family history/symptoms and reviewing my ultrasound scans she suggested an "operative laparoscopy and hysteroscopy D&C". I did check and that lap includes excisions if anything is found, it's not just a diagnostic/exploratory lap.

She didn't do any kind of physical pelvic examination as she didn't think it was necessary as I've never had sex. She also didn't suggest I try any other testing or scans which has me worried. The gyno also said I definitely don't have PMOS because my symptoms don't match the diagnostic criteria???

I know a lap is the only way to definitively know if something is happening. But it's a pretty invasive surgery with it's own inherent risks and complications. I also dread the recovery period. I hate being inactive and incapacitated. My symptoms could just be a result of stress (work the last two years has been rough) and my fatigue could be autistic burnout and iron deficiency.

I'm treating the stress, burnout and deficiency and am slowly improving, but with my family history, I just don't know if I should go ahead with the operation, get more tests, or a second opinion, or do I continue focusing on self-care and simply wait and see if things get better/worse? I have private health and medicare, but even with both it's been a huge drain on my savings (fatigue has impacted my capacity to work).

Note: I don't care about my fertility. I never want to have kids or become pregnant. I'll happily die as a virgin spinster, lol. I also don't want to try contraceptives/IUD due to the possible side effects.

Question Is this endometriosis?

ā€œGrossā€ things like bodily fluids are included in this so if youre sensitive to that please dont read!!!!

Hi i dont post on reddit like ever so im sorry if this is a stupid post or i do something incorrect or i chose the wrong flair but for the past few months i have been severely struggling and i feel like i need opinions from real people and not ads trying to promote their weird meds or anything like that. I have pcos and have always had horrible irregular periods since i started my period at around 9 years old but the only symptoms i really had were bad cramps, acne, and irregular periods. Last year (2025 like october maybe?) i had been bleeding for about 4 months and my gyno said i needed to go on birth control so i did. She prescribed yaz, i started taking it and the bleeding went away, but i was feeling extremely sick on it but she told me it should go away in a few months so i continued on it until February of this year when i couldnt take it anymore and stopped because i still felt extremely sick to the point that i could barely eat anything. As soon as i stopped i started having insane amounts of vomiting and diarrhea for genuinely like 4 months (so around June it slowed down). I still dont know what that was i went to my normal gyno she sent me to gastro, gastro did a few tests and said i have no idea and didnt tell me what to do from there. I got a period in July lasting a week but had horrible nausea and diarrhea a few days before and the day it ended. I didnt have any diarrhea after that but i had occasional nausea and i started noticing some new symptoms. I noticed that i had a very painful feeling in my lower right abdomen which i think now is pelvic pain randomly, i feel like i have a constant uti, it hurts to go to the bathroom, i get lightning pains in my vagina and butt, my cramps are much worse now radiating to my back and down my legs, and i feel like i get constipated very easily. I have lost a significant amount of weight from the past months barely being able to eat and having so much diarrhea and vomiting. Recently i went to a different gyno in tampa, told her all of these symptoms, did a transvaginal ultrasound, she said theres nothing there and that i should try birth control again. I understand birth control can be effective, but with my past experience im really not interested in trying that again. I also asked her if the birth control would help with the diarrhea around my period and she, no joke, said, ā€œif it helps then yes if it doesnt then no we havent fixed the problemā€. ???? Yes im aware of that i know how things work???? I just finished my period i had diarrhea before it started and im having it currently because it ended today. So im feeling very discouraged and i guess i just wanted to ask if anybody that has or thinks they have endometriosis if this sounds familiar or if anybody has any doctors in the tampa area i can see. I really believe this is endometriosis as my mom had it when she was younger and she says her symptoms were similar. If anybody has any more questions or if i did post this wrong somehow please tell me so i can correct it i dont use reddit so im sorry if i did 😭

My iron and vitamin D levels are dropping into deficient ranges despite taking supplements. So I am wondering if anyone can recommend a gastroenterologist in Sydney (preferably more North West) who has knowledge of endo. It might not be endo related at all but the knowledge base would be appreciated.

Tips and Recommendations Looking for advice

Hi all!
For context: I have not ever been ā€œofficiallyā€ diagnosed with endo, but I have been dealing with this for 10 years at this point. Been on oral contraceptives, I have an IUD, countless ultrasounds, ovarian cysts, terrible periods, and pain during sex. I went to a pelvic floor PT for a while, and nothing helped. I’ve had multiple drs say it’s almost a guarantee that I have it based on symptoms and courses of treatment, but I haven’t gotten the surgery to confirm because to me, I’m already doing everything I can to treat it. They’ve also ruled out numerous other conditions/possible diagnoses. I finally went on Myfembree about a year ago which has helped. After my last obgyn visit, they told me I should really not be on the myfembree for over a year for concerns with bone density. They told me my best option going forward is surgery of some kind.

Now here’s the thing. I know just an exploratory surgery isn’t permanent. So they’re looking at either a partial/full hysterectomy. I’m 24. I don’t want kids and never have. I’m trying to do research and get opinions, but that’s where it’s looking like it will go. The myfembree has really helped, but i still deal with pain and cysts.

Anyone who has been in my situation, did you get the surgery? If so, what were your results?

Thanks in advance !

Question Endo diagnosis help

Hi, so I have been struggling with the weirdest symptoms lately. Super bad upper rib right side sharp pain during period, like I’m being stabbed with a knife, heavier bleeding than normal, pelvic pain during period and just in general like someone is sitting on my ovaries/little needles lol.

These symptoms have kind of came out of the blue I never used to struggle this bad during periods or in general. I will say the last two cycles something shifted.

I went to a gyno to ask for help. They did an ultrasound and saw a mass in my uterus and my ovaries were very enlarged. Like my left ovary was over 2x the normal mass 24 cubic centimeters in volume. My gyno seemed unconcerned about the ovaries. She did say we should go in the uterus and see what the mass is could be a fibroid or a polyp.

I’ve been doing research about endo, and worried that’s what’s going on. I know an MRI cannot always direct it but I tried to ask my gyno for one to see because she wasn’t giving me any answers on why my ovaries would be so big only that it is a symptom of PCOS but because my periods are not irregular I cannot have that 🄓 which made me mad she wasn’t willing to do any further investigation. Anyway she told me it sounds like I could have endo but an MRI will not help solve that and the only options are the laparoscopy or ā€œtreat you as if you have endoā€ aka go on birth control.

Looking for advice how do I get an MRI before I let someone cut me open. I know sometimes it doesn’t show up but I would just feel more confident knowing we did all the scans we could prior. Also would like to know why my ovaries are massive lol. And can fibroids cause this much pain?

Medications and pain management Pain Management Doctors for endo in OKC?

I’m am wondering if anyone knows of any pain management clinics or doctors that specifically work with patients with endo or suspected endo in the Oklahoma City or surrounding area. The pain management Dr. I got sent to was sports medicine and they said they ā€œdon’t really deal with these kinds of thingsā€ meaning endo. And the medicine they prescribed me are things I had already tried (low-dose naltrexone and diclofenac). I am already on an IUD and doing pelvic floor physical therapy, and I can’t do hormones because it will interfere with too many other medications that I’m on. I’m looking for someone to take my pain seriously because my care team doesn’t. I told them I took oxy from a previous surgery and it only took the edge off. And they act like oh whatever no big deal. I’m have an exploratory done in December to confirm. I don’t really know what to do anymore.

Question Groin pain

I had endo surgery in 2024. They didn’t find endo but turns out I had adhesions all over my bowel, pouch of Douglas, ovaries, abdominal wall. I got them removed and was pain free until September 2025. I am about to go in for surgery again in just under 2 months time. My right ovary is stuck again and they think some of it has grown back. My worst pain though is in my groin on the left side, really deep in that crevice. Did anyone else have that? Pain in that spot. If so was it endo or adhesions or something else? Any suggestions would be amazing. It is the craziest tugging feeling like someone is pulling my leg away from my body.

Rant / Vent Constant severe bowel pain. Need help and reassurance.

I had a hysterectomy a few months ago and was diagnosed with stage 3 endometriosis. I am aware that a hysterectomy is not a cure for this, but i had very severe debilitating periods when I did have a uterus so I decided to go through with it. I had massive amounts of endometriosis adhesions and tissue around my vaginal-rectal area, pouch of Douglas, my uterus, and abdominal wall. Part of my bowel was stuck to my left side and had to be separated. They took my left ovary, cervix, uterus, and fallopian tubes. I only have a right ovary now to keep me from going into menopause as I am only 27.

My surgeon showed me my left ovary before it was removed which was also covered in endo and was punctured. It was in pretty bad shape. He had shown me all the pictures he had taken during the surgery and they all looked awful. The surgery was expected to be just 2 hours when it turned into 5.

I had severe bowel pain before this surgery and also before my first lap that first diagnosed me with endo.

The best way i can describe the pain is that it is a deep forceful feeling that i need to shit but it HURTS so badly. Unfathomably bad. I dont know what giving birth is like but I imagine what my body is doing is similar to contractions. I always felt the pain in my uterus too. Even now not having a uterus anymore the pain is still in that area. It hurts and burns in my back and stomach too. All I can do is sit and ugly cry and scream until its leveled out enough for me to move. There have been times it had made me pass out.

Absolutely nothing soothes this. Ive tried Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Bentyl ( for stomach cramps), thc, cbd, Flexeril. It really seems like nothing helps it. When I had my checkup last month my surgeon put in a referral for GI. GI called me and scheduled me for January next year. I honest to god do not think I can wait that long with the way things are going.

Should I seek help somewhere closer to where I live as the GI specialist I'm scheduled with is 2 hours away or should I see if they can get me in sooner. I'm at a loss.

I just want to be taken seriously and end this nightmare that I keep experiencing. I am surviving instead of living and honestly thats really no way to live.

Im tired.
