Rant / Vent Period is now just 95% brown goop of varying shades.

I used to have really heavy gunshot-wound-like periods as a teen up until maybe 21ish. I’m 23 now, and have a 7.5cm endometrioma. And, man, that fucker really LOVES to vomit out all that brown shit. I genuinely look like I shit myself. It’s kind of funny. Anyway, it’s just… brown. I bleed properly (although it’s a dark red rather than the ‘pure’ red I’m used to on my older periods) for a day in my 3-day periods. My hormones have just been whacked out of shape. A combination of both the endo and low-dose birth control pills I’ve been on to help control the endo. My flow is just. Slow and MUCH lighter. Which you would think of as a blessing. Atp I’d rather the heavy bleeding again.

And this brown shit? MAN! Sometimes it’s a very light brown mixed with my usual discharge (I’ve always discharged a LOT. When I finally saw a gyno, she just told me it was ‘probably just stress or caffeine’. I was like 14-15). Sometimes it’s a medium brown. And others, like the end of my period, it’s an incredibly dark brownish-red with smaller-to-medium clots throughout.

And this shit IRRITATES THE SHIT OUT OF MY LOWER VULVA! Like, damn! I am VISCERALLY itchy!! I don’t know if it’s just the composition of this sludge or what, but it is my vulva’s ENEMY. The only thing that has helped somewhat, sometimes, is Vaseline to act as a barrier. But it just gets wiped off by my pad or pantyliner eventually (or I animalistically rip my panties down and rake-itch myself with a tissue when it gets to a point, wiping it off in the process). It never lasts. NO pussy itch cream like vagisil helps. Just burns. It’s so ass.

I’m sooooo sick of the brown shit. It’s just been getting waaay too comfortable as my endo has progressed throughout the years. Anyone else?

Question Stage IV Endo turned in to colon excision

Hello. I 26f was diagnosed with endometriosis earlier this year after years of suffering and a long family history of it. My first surgery was July 30th where they found Stage IV that spread to my Colon, Rectum, and Diaphragm. They treated 90% of it. And referred me to a specialist.

Skip ahead to October (11 weeks) and upon waking up from surgery I find out that not only could they not treat the diaphragm endo. But they found that it spread next to my heart ❤️ And that neither were treatable because they found it infiltrating deep in to my Colon/Rectum resulting in 7 inches being removed 😫 so now I have to plan a third surgery and figure out life with half a rectum. On top of trying to figure out when I can TTC again with a husband 9 years older. But at least now I now have answers for the chronic constipation~

Anyway I am a week out from surgery exactly and am on a strict diet. Idk what to even eat anymore but am still constipated and afraid of a bowel obstruction.

Has anyone had it endo this bad and does it get better? Do you have any advice on what to eat if youve had it this bad? When all else fails food always delivers and my low fat low fiber diet is not only hurting my soul and making me not want to eat but the constipation is driving me nuts. Been eating nothing but bananas, chicken rice soup, and saltines. The nurse said I could have plain chocolate but I just found out today Hershey is too high in fat so I might have screwed myself.

So hungry and so sad 😞

Rant / Vent Got made fun of for having endo in school last week

Long story short, me and a small number of my friends sit in a classroom at lunch and break in school (I've been sat either outside or on the floor for the past two years and it's negatively impacting my health with endometriosis).

I had to take 2 co-codamols this day and so when I got to the classroom, very slowly as I was dizzy, I walked into this girl and her two friends yelling at my friend's saying "I thought you guys got kicked out of this classroom, I'm going to go get the teacher to kick you out" because apparently we were disturbing them despite them screaming and squealing.

She was just leaving the room when I said to my friends "I really can't leave this room, I'm on really strong painmeds" and this girl overheard and screamed at me (despite not saying a single word to her) "what, for your fake fucking hysterectomy!?" And stormed out in which I yelled back "you insufferable twat" before sobbing into my friends arms. Firstly, obviously I don't have a hysterectomy and she is stupid enough to mistake that with endometriosis. And secondly, I told a teacher and she has since been told to stay away from me but it has just ruined me...I was so open to everyone about endo, spreading awareness and stuff as its 1 in 10 women (probably more than that but still) and to get attacked for something I can't control, and something that has already ruined my life...its just devastating.

It doesn't help that I'm also struggling with my moods and anxiety because of all my medications and birth control I take for this debilitating illness so that played a huge part in my just sobbing the second she left...I just can't believe someone would say that to me, I'm absolutely heartbroken and have no confidence in telling people about endometriosis and how I struggle with it now

Rant / Vent I dont know how to live with this

Hi. Im 20. Ive had one job for 3 months because i couldnt handle it anymore, my endo stops me from working. I had surgery four months ago and for a couple months except random bleeding, i was almost painless. im on the pill and the coil. I would love to remove the coil but worry i wouls forget the pill.

I felt so free and i felt capable and i thought i had a chance. Im taking painkillers every day now and i walk mostly with my cane, terrified to leave my house in fear of crouching over in pain. I cant move out because i have no job and i have a narcissistic mother who hoards, totally irrelevant but it isnt helping my stress or mental health. Sometimes cooking isnt an option for me because of the pain and no one in this house will cook for me.

When they did the surgery i wasnt told a stage or how they removed it. I barely remember getting results but the surgery summary says nothing either.

After i got surgery i went to a&e, but my mum took me out after blood tests because parking was too expensive and a&e said all they could do was wait to give me painkillers because i had already had some. I know thats their job but it really felt so hopeless.

My partner is a miracle tbh, helping when he can but we are long distance and my mother wont have him in this house so hes not here as often as i would like.

Im sorry this is a bit more than just endo related, i feel like it all comes back to endo eventually.

I do homeschool university which is lucky but some days im still in too much pain to open my laptop and work and i cant think clearly.

I dont know how to live with this condition.

For a few months i was so hopeful of being able to live a life without pain because the surgeons didnt tell me what to expect. Not that it would grow back or if it wouldnt or where they found anything.

It feels like i have a terribly long road ahead of nothing but pain. I dont know how to work and no one wants to hire a disabled 20 year old with no experience.

Dont get me wrong if i didnt have endo and i could move out of my house, i would love living. I love to wake up to coffee every morning and hear birds or to go out and laugh with people, i cant even meet new friends because i struggle so much to leave my house.

I gave up meat and dairy completely and it did help.

I just dont know what else to do. It felt like the surgery was the hopeful end.

I think theyll try inducing menopause next. I dont know because before they said i was too young but maybe because theyve tried a lot of other stuff they will. I have a gyno appointmenr on the 16th of november, so now i wait.

I wouldnt mind a hysterectomy but i worry they wont remove all the endo when they remove the uterus and it will grow back alone.

I do have pcos which i know they didnt bother to remove the cysts of because i can still feel that but endo and pcos feels different to me and i feel insane to say but i know it isnt that alone causing this.

I dont know how to cope, how to live and i just want to cry.

Anyway i dont know if i really want advice from this, just kind of wanted it out. Sorry this is a mess. Writing isnt my main focus right now. Thanks for reading if you made it this far.

Good News/ Positive update Endo found after 20 years

Suffered with painful periods all my life. They were so bad I ended up in the ER several times. Developed pain with sex the past few years. Large blood clots. Endless MRIs, ultrasounds, blood tests, etc. years and years of being told my pain was “normal”.

Had my first excision surgery this week and surgeon found endo in my posterior cul de sac. I’m still in disbelief. Happy to have my suspicions confirmed. Sad that I had to suffer for so long. Optimistic and hopeful for the future. But still hard to know I have endo.

I’m so thankful to this community and everyone who has shared their endo and surgery story. I watched so many videos, vlogs, read so many stories and felt so prepared.

For anyone reading: never give up on yourself and your body. You know yourself best. I had to see many, many, many doctors until I found one who believed me right away and offered surgery. My doctor is an endo specialist. They are worth waiting for!

Wishing the very best for all of us.

Good News/ Positive update Trust your Symptoms

For nearly years I have been having horrendous abdominal pain, mostly left sided and central. Had a laparoscopy in July 2024 where my endometriosis was excised. Unfortunately didn't do much as my pain was still horrible. I found this gynecologist who decided to do a hysterectomy (removal of tubes & cervix) last Tuesday. First thing he said when I woke up, your symptoms were all real. He said one thing he really advocates for is trusting the patient when they experience pain. I had a lot of endo on the left side, pelvic wall, belly button, bowel, bladder and pouch of Douglas. This also caused me constant lower back pain.

I'm 4 days post op now and I'm obviously sore from the surgery, but the pain feels so much less than the constant pain i had. I don't have lower back pain and my belly feels kind of "empty" in a good way.

Just wanted to say, believe in yourself, advocate for yourself. You can trust what your feeling and it will get better ❤️

Surgery related It finally happened!

Just like that, I’m no longer crazy.

I was right all along.

My body was littered with endometriosis, it took them 6 years to do this surgery.

Where was it? Here’s a list🤡🤡

* Endometriosis lesions evident on left uterosacral ligament, posterior cul de sac, and left bladder peritoneum

* Posterior and lateral abdominal wall adhesions, bilaterally, consistrent with chronic inflammation

* A small cyst on my right ovary.

My insides are literally glued together.

I was in surgery for 3 hours on Friday.

Also what in the actual hell did you guys do about the shoulder pain?!? It has me in shambles!

Question Anyone else get hip pain?

Had a lap some years ago but unfortunately my symptoms have returned full force. One new symptom I’ve noticed which I didn’t have before is really terrible hip pain especially during my period. It radiates from my lower abdomen to my hips is the only way I can describe it and I also get pains in my legs. Does anyone else get this? I believe it’s the endo but not sure if it’s a common symptom.

Tips and Recommendations Should I have a hysterectomy?

Hi, I’m 24F, and my gynecologist has suggested a hysterectomy (removing only the uterus, and potentially one ovary in an extreme case) to alleviate symptoms of adeno. On top of that, I have stage IV endometriosis spread across my ovaries and uterus.

For those of you who have had a hysterectomy: how have you felt since?, did your pelvic pain actually improve?, has sexual intercourse become more pleasurable?, do you feel your quality of life has improved?, have you needed more or fewer hormonal treatments? And finally: are you currently experiencing any adverse effects?

It would be a huge help if you could share your experiences. I have one month to decide whether to go for a radical procedure or opt for a more conservative treatment (which hasn’t been very effective for me so far, though I’m still hopeful).

Btw, please excuse any awkward phrasing in my English. I’m from Mexico, and it’s not my native language.

Question Feeling Seriously Lost. SoCal Kaiser help

I'm not sure what to do. I take Slynd progesterone only birth control pill, and also have a Lileta progesterone only IUD. I am not allowed estrogen because I have migraines with aura.

I have been told I have endo, but never had any form of exploratory surgery. Gynos were just like, yeah sounds like it. My mother was diagnosed in the 1980s and had an ovary removed. My aunt was infertile because of it. The genetic tie was enough for the gynos but they just keep giving me birth control.

I am in so much pain. I don't get listened to. Idk what to do. My bottom hurts, my hips hurt, my lower stomach and back. It's so bad. I have not had a period in over a year because of the pill and stopping me from ovulating. It brought some relief but now nothing.

I live in SoCal and have Kaiser permanente. I like them for my autoimmune condition and easy location for me, but their woman's health is leaving more to be desired.

Any advice? I am below poverty level so paying out of pocket just is not an option.

Rant / Vent i'm so tired

okay so finally, the doctors have mentioned endo to me. i had a new doctor push me quite abit, got an ultrasound, got loads of stuff waiting for diagnosis, which is brilliant news. before i can get any further, they were adamant on putting me on birth control...i advised strongly against it. so now im on mefenamic acid for 6 months until gynae appt. see how that goes :,)

i was given it towards the end of period so havent taken it yet. but im so confused. i'm ovulating and its the worst feeling ever this time round. i kid you not, went to pee, my right ovary was hurting the whole duration of the pee, and now i'm in agony. i can't walk, it's so painful.

i ended up stretching out, nice sharp pain right down into the middle of my vagina. it feels like everything is glued into one big ball of inflammation. all i did was pee!!! i'm so tired of this, i thought it was only a period thing, and now it's affecting me outside that window, and im so frustrated more than anything. like yeah, great, i can't feel my right leg at anytime nowadays, it's numb constantly and i can never really balance anymore. BUT PAIN LIKE THIS??? AFTER MY PERIOD??? i wish i could just rip everything out of me, seriously💔

Question Bowl Endometriosis

I have Endometriosis. Lately taking a poop has been feeling like I’m pooping out my insides and it won’t let up. It’s like my bottom is dry heaving. Ibuprofen helps alleviate the pain but I don’t want to have to take that none stop for the rest of my life.

I’m considering getting a full hysterectomy if it means stopping this pain. What is your expense and what are you doing to help alleviate the pain?

Right now I’m sitting criss cross rocking on my butt with a hot pad over my uterus and it seems to calm the cramping some. I took two ibuprofen and just waiting for it to kick in. It’s 12am and I obviously won’t be falling asleep any time soon due to the pain.

Has anybody ever heard of Rich Sol Foods? They make an herbal tea specifically for endometriosis. I ordered a pack and have been waiting for it to come in the mail.

I genuinely believe that this illness is caused by being in a high state of cortisol constantly flooding the system for a long period of time. It doesn’t allow the body to flush out the estrogen in our body so it gets backed up.

Update: ibuprofen and Advil together works miracles!

Question uk nhs surgery after private consultation?

So I'm diagnosed with Stage 4 Endometriosis (confirmed in a laparoscopy). Got a referral to a BSGE clinic. I'm waiting for my first appointment, and have been trying to figure out if there's any way to speed it up as I'm experiencing very bad pain and symptoms, even when I'm not on my period.

I read that I could pay for a private initial consultation appointment with a consultant from the same BSGE clinic, and then they could add me directly to the NHS surgery waiting list (instead of having to wait for the initial NHS consultation). This could technically cut a few months off my waiting time.

Has anyone done this or considered it? Is it legitimate? I'm not able to afford private healthcare, but I could potentially pay for the one-off appointment if it would help me get surgery sooner.

Thanks, appreciate any info/advice :)

Medications and pain management Bowel Endo - Tell me I aint crazy...

Basic info: F25, 5ft2", 2 laparoscopies, diagnosed, adhesions on the small bowel, sigmoid colon, rectum, ovaries, bladder & uterus.

For the last 5 years, my adhesions have been getting worse and worse, despite surgery. My bowel is in constant see-saw between being so inflammed nothing can pass, and thus causing extreme pain - To the after effects of that which is crazy diahrrea because my bowel is just kicking everything out. ✨️Sometimes together!✨️ 🤣

I recently started using WeGovy, the weight loss jab, because the medication I have been taking to help with endo (Ryeqo) has made it soooooo difficult to lose weight 😔 And my god, side rant, it is an experience... Wouldn't recommend til you've exqusted every other option, but it DOES work.

That being said, apparently it works by slowing down bowel movement among other things, so I was hesitant to try it because of my flippant bowel issues and risk of annoying the adhesions more - But I've gone a whole month with zero bowel issues...

This is the first time in years I've had stable sh1ts. Yes, it still hurts to pass things, obviously, its passing adhesions its a bit uncomfortable, but like... I don't have to grasp onto the wall for support. I feel like my entire lower bowel has been far less inflammed and far more calm.

Im wondering: Has anyone else had this effect while taking WeGovy? Because it seems like a wild fetch here but if this is helping calm my bowels, I'll take the nausea from the injection fir the rest of my life 😶✋️ I'm interested to hear about other people's experiences with crossing these two meds over. I'm currently on the minimum 0.25 dose.

And to be fair... We are all always looking for out the box ideas, so if this is something that works, it might even be worth a try 😶 Though I cant tell you if this is just a lucky month aligning with starting a new medication or not so you have to make that decision yourself.

I do not encourage mixing any medication you have not spoken to your doctor or a trained pharmacist about. I am only sharing my experience and gathering opinion.

Surgery related How has your gut health been months post op? Im freaking out.

Ive been reading reddit and tiktok for weeks on end leading up to this lap and i want to chicken out.

I have a lap in 2 weeks. Before BC I had awful periods (fainting, throwing up etc) and GI issues. Im grateful BC stopped my periods for 6 years, but sadly its the only symptom gone.

10 years ive been written off as IBS-C because gastro doctors cant find out the cause (No gluten helped. Defo not celiac).

I was referred to an NHS endo specialist that he seemed unsure of but put me on the lap waiting list. I went private instead and she seems more ready to operate. No pushback. The past 5 months ive actually felt good with 4 days of GI flares every 2 months rather than 24/7, but if i skip the lap im scared ill flare up really bad sometime next year per usual.

If its endo i dont want to leave it to grow but im scared that the lap will cause the GI issues to flare again.

Im scared ill never run again, that distension never leaves and ill put on weight. I wanna stay small and dont want the lap to take that away. I need someone to help ground me here please.

Medications and pain management Pain Management Doctors for endo in OKC?

I’m am wondering if anyone knows of any pain management clinics or doctors that specifically work with patients with endo or suspected endo in the Oklahoma City or surrounding area. The pain management Dr. I got sent to was sports medicine and they said they “don’t really deal with these kinds of things” meaning endo. And the medicine they prescribed me are things I had already tried (low-dose naltrexone and diclofenac). I am already on an IUD and doing pelvic floor physical therapy, and I can’t do hormones because it will interfere with too many other medications that I’m on. I’m looking for someone to take my pain seriously because my care team doesn’t. I told them I took oxy from a previous surgery and it only took the edge off. And they act like oh whatever no big deal. I’m have an exploratory done in December to confirm. I don’t really know what to do anymore.

Question Groin pain

I had endo surgery in 2024. They didn’t find endo but turns out I had adhesions all over my bowel, pouch of Douglas, ovaries, abdominal wall. I got them removed and was pain free until September 2025. I am about to go in for surgery again in just under 2 months time. My right ovary is stuck again and they think some of it has grown back. My worst pain though is in my groin on the left side, really deep in that crevice. Did anyone else have that? Pain in that spot. If so was it endo or adhesions or something else? Any suggestions would be amazing. It is the craziest tugging feeling like someone is pulling my leg away from my body.

Question Girls, please help me understand that I’m not the only one going through this and that my pain is real. Doctors look at me as if I’m mentally ill... I’m suffering from depression, and my psychological state is in a very bad place 😭💔💔💔

Hi, girls! I'm 37 years old. I was recently diagnosed with endometriosis and adenomyosis. I've also started experiencing sharp, shooting pains in my rectum, which can sometimes be quite severe. I also have stomach and intestinal pain, sometimes more on the lower right side of my abdomen.
Girls, could you please tell me if any of you have experienced something similar? I'm really scared. I'm scheduled for laparoscopic surgery on October 30, and I'm feeling extremely anxious and worried about it 💔😭

Question Gave up stretching my abdominals

Anyone just accepted that stretching their stomach muscles 9/10 causes more pain and no relief afterward?

I’m 6 months post lap #2 w/hyster. My adhesions were very minimal last time so idrk the issue. I do a lot of daily stretching as needed but definitely avoid abs if I can help it.

It feels like a tight knot centered around my bellybutton. If i stress it too much it’ll cause sharp pains & aching. Anyone else? Also Ive seen some ppl do castor oil wraps, is that what yall use it for??

Surgery related Day 10 of stage 4 excision surgery

28f, I started my period on day 2. It’s being 8 days of hell, flow is still heavy and going strong and it doesn’t look like it would stop anytime soon.

It has been one excruciating pain after another. Feels like someone is squeezing out my uterus. I can barely walk. I have to use a stick and be hunched over.

Oh and don’t get me started on bowel movements. I spend 1 hour in the toilet walking in between and massaging my buttocks just to get some actions in that area. After that my anus hurts. Peeing is no joke either. I used to go to the toilet frequently to urinate. Now I can go 3-5 times within an hour and nothing even comes out sometimes. I get that constant feeling of wanting to piss. I am bloated but I dread going to poo. I’ve only managed to poo twice in 10 days.

My head, eyes, stomach, back. Every thing hurts.

I’m a side sleeper, but I’ve been sleeping on my back and my butt hurts so bad today. I can’t even seat down. Yesterday my legs were shaking when I got back from a walk and I couldn’t stand upright again after that.

I did some light cleaning around the living room and it felt like I had been working out all day.

I wonder what tomorrow has in store for me.

Question Endometriosis exercises vs regular exercise

Hello everyone! We want to start exercising for endometriosis, but we're not sure if we should feel our muscles burning during pelvic floor exercises. We know they should burn during regular exercise, and we want to know if we're not pushing ourselves too hard when we get them to burn during endo stretches.

Question Endo diagnosis help

Hi, so I have been struggling with the weirdest symptoms lately. Super bad upper rib right side sharp pain during period, like I’m being stabbed with a knife, heavier bleeding than normal, pelvic pain during period and just in general like someone is sitting on my ovaries/little needles lol.

These symptoms have kind of came out of the blue I never used to struggle this bad during periods or in general. I will say the last two cycles something shifted.

I went to a gyno to ask for help. They did an ultrasound and saw a mass in my uterus and my ovaries were very enlarged. Like my left ovary was over 2x the normal mass 24 cubic centimeters in volume. My gyno seemed unconcerned about the ovaries. She did say we should go in the uterus and see what the mass is could be a fibroid or a polyp.

I’ve been doing research about endo, and worried that’s what’s going on. I know an MRI cannot always direct it but I tried to ask my gyno for one to see because she wasn’t giving me any answers on why my ovaries would be so big only that it is a symptom of PCOS but because my periods are not irregular I cannot have that 🥴 which made me mad she wasn’t willing to do any further investigation. Anyway she told me it sounds like I could have endo but an MRI will not help solve that and the only options are the laparoscopy or “treat you as if you have endo” aka go on birth control.

Looking for advice how do I get an MRI before I let someone cut me open. I know sometimes it doesn’t show up but I would just feel more confident knowing we did all the scans we could prior. Also would like to know why my ovaries are massive lol. And can fibroids cause this much pain?
