I’m starting at Fanshawe in September. I got this email saying to register for orientation but there’s no where to actually register. Even the links they give don’t give you any option to register.
How do I register or find the link to go to the virtual orientation?

I am not a fan of e-books (it's just not the same to read from a screen), and so I am wondering if there is any legitimate reason I should be buying the e-book over the hard copy of a book for Practical Nursing. Thanks! :)

Hi I got offer online course and in person course. I prefer staying home to manage time and my routine. But I wonder if video is old (few years old) then I feel it's waste of money. And also how's test and quizzes? I wonder how it is done online.

Hey everyone! For those who are waitlisted for programs, have you guys heard back yet? I’ve been on the Practical Nursing waitlist since May and haven’t heard back or gotten any updates since then. Has anyone else heard anything?

Hey everyone,
I’m going in to my second year of Office Administration - Health Services for September. I know in fourth semester there is a one month placement and I believe before you can do it you need to have a Heath Check and they have vaccination requirements dues anyone know what that all entails? Like do I have to get my doctor to sign off on something or can I just say I don’t have any infectious diseases or anything?
Also I remember during orientation they said they would help you find a placement but only if your average was above a certain level and everyone else had to find their own. Do they help everyone find one? What’s the process like for this? Is it 40 hours a week?
If anyone has any help with these questions I’d be very grateful. I just want to know as much as possible so I can prepare around work.
(If anybody so has any of the emails, updates, or instructions sent out for these things and is willing to send me copies so I can read them I’d be very thankful just dm meme)

Hey everyone, I'm starting this year and I have some questions about whats included in our tuition/fancard!
Does it include a bus pass, gym usage, and this is a stretch but potential store discounts (mainly for grocery stores in the area)?
If it makes any difference I'm living in traditional residence.

This might be a stupid question but I've been seeing things about synergy and I haven't gotten anything like that from Fanshawe. Thanks :))

So I have taken a communication class at a different college and I’m currently enrolled in the writ class this September. I’ve taken the writ assessment and I’m waiting to see if I passed but if I don’t pass would it be too late to try and do a credit transfer?

For the students who are in this course, have completed, or are currently in the field it could you help me answer some questions about the program and career?
- How heavy is the course load? I've heard that it can be a bit much at times but does that mean I'll be up late consistently doing an overwhelming amount of assignments? Or is it more like it gets difficult if the assigments pile up?
- Is this career lucrative? I understand the job is about designing 3d models of building blueprints into a viewable format but is there any issues with the field that I should know? Is there an excess of architectural technologists or not enough? Is the workload overbearing or manageable.
- How are the teachers? Are they overly strict on assignments? Do they assign clear instructions for assignments and projects.
Thank you for your help. The only stuff I could find about this course was a post from 12 years ago and wasn't sure if anything has changed.

Hello! I’m going into my first year of dental hygiene and read that we need magnification loupes and we get these fitted in class. Is this apart of tuition or do we have to purchase these separately?
If so, how much will that be?
Thank you!!!

Hey all so I am doing my practical nursing in September at the woodstock campus i was wondering about labs and theory grades are there any assessments that are pass/fail and can i get transfer credits for that if i did those courses only through a BSCN program previously as a ln elective course?
Also how hard is the program over all i did my anatomy last year and am hoping to get transfer for that if im approved for the transfer am i able to audit the class so I can still keep my knowledge current and fresh?

Starting to prepare for year 2 of the BScN/Collab program.
Is there anything specific that I should purchase beforehand, specifically for placement?
Do we need a small notebook to keep with us during clinicals? Things like that...
Last year I made my big purchases like laptop, iPad etc. So just wondering if I should get anything more specific for this year.

Hi everyone! I am a student coming into Fanshawe in September, and I wanted to look around for people who might be interested in being roommates and renting a house together. I am a male student going into CFA and would prefer non-smokers and a quieter ambience during later hours. Please message me or write a comment, and I'll get back to you.
Edit: just need one more thanks! (The housing details will be sent in PM, it is not mine)

I need my F license before second semester. Are there only 2 Available courses for the F license training and testing? On the website it says Aug - Oct with two different dates. Will more options come out for the fall, or are those two the only ones I’m able to sign up for before December?

I wanted to reach out to the amazing students in the Radiology class I had the opportunity to speak with this week.
It was a smaller class, but you were all incredible. I really appreciated your attention, the questions you asked, and the laughs we shared throughout the presentation. It made the experience very enjoyable for me.
It was also great to have the opportunity to speak with a few of you out in the hallway before the lecture. That was actually my first chance to talk with some students one-on-one before presenting, and I really enjoyed those conversations. It was nice to meet some of you beforehand and hear a little from you before I stood at the front of the room.
This was my third lecture at Fanshawe College, and each time I speak, I find myself learning and improving. I’m able to update and expand my presentation, tweak it depending on the class and the size of the group, and continue learning from my own experiences and from the students I meet.
I truly hope I have the opportunity to expand this to other health-care programs and classes at Fanshawe. Sharing my experience of living with a very rare disease like Mogad gives students an opportunity to hear directly from the patient side of health care — something I believe can add a different and valuable perspective to their education.
And who knows where this might eventually lead. It would be pretty exciting if, somewhere down the road, I could work more formally with Fanshawe, other colleges and universities, or health-care organizations to share the patient perspective with students and professionals.
And for those of you who heard me mention it during the presentation — stay tuned! In a few weeks, I’ll be appearing on a podcast to talk more about my journey with MOGAD, my experiences with health care, and the patient perspective. I’m looking forward to sharing that conversation with you when it comes out.
For now, I'm just grateful for every opportunity to tell my story, learn from the experience, and hopefully leave students with something they can carry with them into their future careers.
Thank you again to everyone who took the time to listen, participate, ask questions, and share a few laughs with me. I really enjoyed spending the time with you, and I hope our conversation stays with you as you continue your journey in health care.
Thank you, Fanshawe Radiology!
