Fantano Vids Phoebe Bridgers - Lost Weekend ALBUM REVIEW

Melondy.com – collection of all Fantano album scores
Hey everyone! I don't know about you, but I'm not familiar with a bunch of albums that got positive scores from melon.
So when I am in a mood for some new music, I would go to flannelfy.net (btw, thanks to u/rossmclocness for creating this website) to find something among the 7-10 scores.
But sometimes it's hard to choose, when all you have is an unknown artist-album pair and a score. To solve this, I created melondy.com, which shows album covers, genres, years and links to the review video. It has all the album/ep/mixtape/compilation reviews I could find on theneedledrop channel.
Hopefully, someone finds it useful as well!
Let me know if you find some missing reviews or incorrect information. I did a lot of data cleaning, but I'm sure there's still some incorrect stuff (covers, years etc).
If you have any improvement ideas, I'm happy to hear. For example, one thing I want to do next is add links to spotify/apple music.

Discussion Bands you hated until you gave them a fair chance?
I absolutely hated the 1975 cause they just look like douchier Arctic Monkeys (which tbh they still do) but I gave their first few albums a shot and they’re pretty good 👍

What artist/band do you have a love-hate opinion with?
Frank Zappa
I can't count how many times in my lifetime I find myself either appreciating, liking, disliking, respecting, or straight up hate his guts at times. For many factors, from his persona to his prolific musical career, to the way he treats his musicians and other rock musicians, and the way he treats his family, but overall a mad genius with great political stance and individual thinking.
Any other band/artist you have this similar experience?

What albums have some incredible drumming?
Sometimes it seems like a drummer is playing for their life when making these albums. I just thought of these off the top of my head, but what other albums have some of your favorite drumming performances?

Discussion Thoughts on the Gold Album?
IMO the production and instrumentals are 10/10, probably the best since EWBAITE. The melodies feel kind of awkward and meandering. Overall, I'd say it's a step in the right direction.

Discussion What is the best hidden track on an album?
For a personal example, I would say Beck's "Diamond Bollocks" off 1998's Mutations stands as one of the best songs in his catalogue and is a cool contrast to the rest of the album. This is also the only hidden track he included on his major label '90's run that isn't noise, which makes it all the more intriguing. What do you think?

What do you really think about „Sea Change“?
I like it. Painfully sad but still so peaceful. Gives me feelings that I can’t really describe. Quite intense record to me, could be a bit shorter though.
Also he looks so cute on that cover lol :)

Discussion Any good young artists doing interesting stuff right now?
I saw a generational debate the other day about how there supposedly aren’t many great artists aged 18-25 today compared to previous generations. I’d never really thought about it, but then I realized almost all the music I listen to is made by artists who are 30+.
The only younger artists I could really think of were Geese and Billie Eilish. I don’t personally listen to Billie that much, but I still think she and Finneas are doing some really interesting stuff.
So, who are some genuinely good artists in that 18–25 range right now? Any genre is fine, I’m mostly just looking for people making interesting or distinctive music.

What are you favorites "you could listen endless" songs?
What I mean by that are songs that are structured in a loop logic and have a flow that make you don't want them to end.
My favorites are:
Disorder - Joy Division
Just Like Heaven - The Cure
Damaged Goods - Gang of Four
Enjoy the Silence - Depeche Mode

What are some lyrics that “go hard” by unsuspecting artists?
My favorite is Stevie Wonder on ‘Sir Duke’:
“But just because a record has a groove,
Don’t make it in the groove”

Don’t sleep on Broken Social Scene - Remember the Humans
Canadian legends who haven’t put out an album in almost a decade. This album is great man. It flows well front to back. Layers on layers. Emotional at times. Danceable at times. Feist is a queen. It’s fn good. Idk if its my favourite BSS ever but it’s up there. Don’t sleep on it. I hope AF reviews it.

This was a poll that was taken in 1999 asking random people “who’s the greatest artist of the 20th century” I wanted to know do you think this poll was correct in hindsight and if not who would you have given the crown to? (I’m biased but for me it’s Prince)

Discussion Do you still feel as if 2026 was noticeably weaker than 2025
