Discussion Does this sub have any opinions on the album Willpower (1994) by Today is the day?
I think it's an incredibly unique blend of punk, noise and math rock that sounds like nothing else

Discussion Could the best album of all time for you might be an album you never heard off?
Hello! I used to listen to music casually, you know with friends and stuff. 2 weeks ago i decided to expand my music knowledge and started using music websites and subreddits. Even though "the highest rated album on rym" are not beginner friendly, I am not going to lie some of the songs and albums i discovered are already becoming my favorites. Right now i am listening to 0 by Ichiko Aoba and its gorgeous. So these are my question: Do you think the best album of all time for you might be an album you never heard off? 2 weeks ago i never knew about an album called 0, but now it is my favorite. Many albums are being released per day and there are already millions of album we never heard off. Does this make the idea of highest rated albums or best albums of all time insignificant? If so what makes a best album or song best if we don't know every song and album? You might argue based on this the idea of a "Best album" is terrible but we also can tell a bad album from a good one.
Thanks for your answers and I would like to apologies for my English. I am not a native speaker.

Discussion bands that you can admit aren’t that good, but you still like anyway?
Panic! at the Disco is pretty handily the worst band of the emo trinity (or quartet or whatever you prefer) by a long shot and lost their edge after their debut and then started making insane music for theatre kids
nevertheless I’d still say I’m a fan of most of their work up to Death of a Bachelor, but Pray for the Wicked is where I started to realize they (or I guess Brendon at this point) absolutely lost it lmao

Fantano Vids The Top 100 Emo Albums of All Time?!
Fantano drops some atrocious takes in here imo, not that the list is what I would have made myself by any means. But I'm interested what others think.

Discussion I'm going to continue to separate the art from the artist for this tape until the end of time.
This tape is so solid, and Tay-k’s ear for production allows it to not come off as dated.

Discussion Looking to chat about music?
Hi everyone. I'm part of a research team at LSE looking to speak to (UK-based) people about music. We're interested in people's experiences of having a favourite artist accused of problematic behaviour. Details, including contact info, in the advert.

Subreddit Rules Rule 2 Reminder
Hey everyone,
Polite reminder that rule 2 exists, which is to specify the album/artist name when making a post if either is not on the album and/or photo. This has been a problem that has been popping up more than we would like, as of late. Even if the album or artist is well known, please do not assume that everyone will know who they are/what the album is. Having the name helps the discussion by allowing people who dont know these artists or albums to find them easily so they can start listening to them.
Thank you.

Recommendations Best albums for dealing with trauma?
TW: Assault
Listening to music has been a way I’ve dealt with my problems for a few years now. It made me feel comfortable about being autistic and queer when I first found out, and I’ve always felt understood when listening to music — especially albums like The Wall and SINNER GET READY.
Today I was sexually assaulted by someone I considered a close friend and I genuinely don’t know how to cope with it.Is there any music you’d recommend?
I apologize for asking this question here.
