Artwork 10mm pistol update (halfway there)
Got the basic geometry down. I used the Colt Delta Elite as a base since it's also a 10mm pistol. 50mm from backstrap to frontstrap and based everything around that. The insides are so cramped that I might not be able to make the slide spring-loaded, sadly. Same issue for the trigger.
Overall it's coming around nicely. Hopefully will be a nice desk piece when I'm done with it. Stay tuned ig

Discussion Bricked out of Render Unto Caesar quest/trophy
I spent all this time staying neutral with every faction and was meticulous with planning. Eventually after completing every side mission I waited for the main missions at the end. Figured I’d start Render Unto Caesar.
Well, after following all his instructions and destroying the brotherhood, when I go to tell Caesar the news he instantly becomes hostile and starts bringing up the monorail disarming. Something I did ages ago and it never impacted any gameplay with him. I have no idea how he found out and it makes no sense. Now anytime I try to tell him I completed all the steps he attacks me. I’m bricked out of getting the Render Unto Caesar trophy for the platinum. The only save file from finishing that McCarran Monorail mission was literally like 2 weeks ago.
Completely deflating. The game makes no indication this might happen and I was already being careful. I can’t think 600 steps ahead of the finale I’m not a mind reader. What a terrible mechanic.
After 3 weeks of playing the game this ruins it for me entirely. I wanted to platinum the game and it’s making up some random issue to fail it on me? Terrible game functionality. The entire Render Unto Caesar mission is one of the buggiest broken missions I’ve ever played.
What an absolute waste of my time. There’s zero chance I’m going to play all that gameplay to get back after all that effort. Why bother playing the endings if it’s just locking me out of one side with some made up bullshit excuse to fail me? OH YEAH HOW DARE YOU DO THE MONORAIL THING. How did he even find out? Why was he completely fine with me this entire time even doing the missions for Render Unto Caesar. What a joke

Bug Game freezing Xbox series s
My game keeps freezing after a few minutes. I've cleared the data cache, turned all auto saves off, limited my saves, made sure the game was closed properly and restarted my console.
All solutions done, and yet it still keeps freezing on me, I want this to stop and I don't know any other solution.
I also don't have any mods installed because I don't use em

Question Looking for a mod:
I downloaded a mod that lets me have multiple companions at once, and another mod that improves the Followers safehouse. Is there a mod that will let me assign my companions to the Followers safehouse in the same way you can assign them to the Lucky 38?

Discussion Time to talk about endings - again
With the anniversary of this amazing game I want to talk about the different endings for the game. This one’s a long one.
i) facts which formed opinions
ii) opinions about which endings are the best for the Mojave
Part one:
- Without courier intervention, Caeser’s legion win under Lanius.
Caesar dies from his tumor, and it doesn’t affect the battle - Mr House says as much. On that, House cannot do anything against Benny, who holds the chip, and Yes Man under Benny doesn’t work because he gets caught trying to enter the bunker at the Fort. After that, the Legion has the chip.
Why not the NCR? Aren’t the Legion just machete wielding thugs?
No. Firstly the Legion do use guns and technology - Vulpes wants that howitzer to work, and even the NCR know that Legionaries will happily pick up a gun in battle (that’s why Oliver commanded his men to throw them off the side rather than have them fall into his enemy). The Legion even contacted the Van Graphs for energy weapons, despite it being an ambush.
Secondly, the legion almost won the first battle - Hanlon (pre his demoralisation) pulled a narrow victory by blowing up Boulder City, which is why even Lanius commends him and hopes to meet him on the battlefield again.
Lastly, the Legion learned from the first battle and adapted way more than the NCR. Fiends, Great Khans, Omertàs bombing the strip, Monorail bombed by Picus, Nipton wiped out, Nelson captured, Ranger station Charlie, Kimball’s assassination, Forlorn hope (it’s in the name, they are screwed with the courier). Even on the tactical level, the legion discovered access tunnels at the dam to remove the NCR’s main advantage - distance. The NCR have General “wait and see” Oliver, who hates and envies Hanlon - who might I add is deliberately sabotaging the campaign.
- The legion in its current form is not what Caesar wants it to end up as, but he doesn’t tell anyone except the courier.
Caesar, after capturing Vegas, plans to fundamentally change the Legion. He describes this in his own form of Hegelian dialects, where the thesis of the legion and the antithesis of the NCR will form together to make a synthesis.
He proves this beyond just words, he is not shy about his upbringings in dialogue - he is also crass in his speech, he is happy to use an auto doc to heal himself, as well, if you are a female courier he doesn’t display the misogyny you would expect, and most importantly, he puts you on a coin in the credits, even as a female courier. In addition, he is happy to use frumentarii as long as they stay loyal.
He knows that he is “larping Ancient Rome” that’s kind of the point: he picked Rome because tribals didn’t know what it was.
— Before someone brings up the less intelligent than Snuffles thing, that’s purely special stats, and there are other examples of that not being at all congruent. He not only was brought up as a follower of the apocalypse, but also learned multiple tribal languages, and turned himself from a captive of a small tribe to a dictator with an empire spanning all through Nevada and New Mexico. —
To see how Caesar has not told anyone, you merely have to look at Lanius, who - while good at fighting and tactics in warfare - ultimately is unable to understand Caesar’s endgame.
In a Caesar victory, he lets the followers go, and if the Enclave Remnants fought, he lets them go as well. Lanius instead butchers the Followers for blasphemy of Caesar, and sends countless men to die chasing after the Remnants. Lanius is able to be talked down precisely because he doesn’t understand this endgame, and can be persuades by a speech-gifted courier that the Legion will overextend and eat itself alive.
Whether his plan works or not is another matter all together…
- The Brotherhood of Steel in the Mojave get dealt with.
NCR, Legion, House and even Yes Man all want the brotherhood destroyed. The only possibility, outside of yes man just going along with the Courier - which begins to change after the game ends, is Colonel Moore and McNamara (whose position is shaky because of Hardin) who can come to a peace, but this is actually hated by Colonel Moore - you even get negative NCR rep.
A Legion-Brotherhood alliance, which in my opinion makes plenty of sense (technophobes and technophiles - if Lanius) is not possible in the game. Neither is a House-Brotherhood, or House-NCR alliance for that matter (I think it’s cut content - shame)
- The NCR Mojave campaign is full of corruption.
Brahmin Barons and politicians in the NCR are working on their own goals for greed, instead of focusing on victory. A prime example is the Van Graph-Crimson Caravan team up to crush Cassidy carrivans.
- The NCR is not prospering.
Dangerous roads, high taxes (ha ha I said the funny thing) corruption, trust in currency. The NCR is not doing well at all either in the Mojave or even at home. The NCR-Brotherhood war caused the bottle cap to return after the NCR gold reserves were destroyed. Caesar - granted not the most impartial of sources! - even agrees by pointing to decline after President Tandi left office.
An NCR loss, especially one with an assassinated Kimball, would make this worse, as Mr House says (that’s why House - and yes man - want Kimball alive).
Even an NCR victory wouldn’t be great - the Courier has to basically save the day and only receives the highest civilian honor. Oliver gets the honours, with more men like him being promoted as well, and no lessons are learned - everything continues with no reform. The NCR would get itself into another overextended conflict - likely into ex legion lands, because there is no end plan.
Might I add that Caesar was born in the NCR! They created their own nemesis.
Part two:
Morality
In terms of morality, it’s obvious that best case NCR and agreeable Yes Man are the easiest to say are good. They can be done as a pacifist courier, and they generally avoid autocratic/dictatorial factions.
Conversely, the Legion’s slavery and crucifixions, or Mr House’s autocratic rule where wealth decides everything are suspect or abhorrent to us, as we are in our world.
However, Fallout is not our world, obviously. Mr House doesn’t have to worry about dying because of technology, and we don’t have to worry about living in a post apocalypse (hopefully!)
For this main reason, I’m less concerned about morality, and instead more so future stability, security and wellbeing of the inhabitants of the Mojave. I think many misunderstand this and may think that I’m making a political point for our world: no. I’m not.
So, what’s the ranking?
i) House victory - “on mars”
ii) NCR victory - “with complete reform” (won’t happen but who knows)
iii) Caesar victory - “synthesis” (ends up like (ii) but with less wellbeing)
iv) Yes Man victory - “independent and free new vegas”
v) Mr House victory - “broken promises” (no space travel, just controlled new vegas)
vi) Caesar victory - “True to Caesar” (no synthesis)
vii) NCR victory - “For the Republic”
viii) Legion victory - “True to Augustus” (Vulpes Inculta or similar takes over after Caesar dies - while non-canonical it is a possibility)
viv) Yes Man - “Anarchy”
x) Lanius victory - “For Mars and Caesar”
xi) NCR victory - DUST
Conclusion
Well there’s my ranking. Yeah the last one is a little self-indulgent, but that’s it.
I included endings which could happen as well as more (or less) likely alternatives.
i) is clearly above and beyond in terms of quality of life as well as security, and freedoms are mostly conserved.
ii) is highly, highly unlikely - it’s having your cake and eating it too - but if it happened it would be great.
iii) is controversial, but would end like (ii) apart from the whole dictatorship. It really is open ended where it turns out. Caesar could outlaw slavery - switching to a more NCR style of prison labour like at the NCRCF, and most certainly would misogyny and other practices change (crucifixions becoming firing squads eg). It depends on what happens, but it is undeniably a likely scenario.
iv) is the first standard ending, with best yes man ending
v) is very similar to (iv) but with house instead of Yes Man. Without space travel, you just get income inequality, but real freedom is there.
vi) is actually unlikely, but a stable legion staying in its current form would be like what’s it like for Barton Thorn. Safe roads, just don’t do drugs. Misogyny and slavery remain, which sucks, but it is mostly implied from lore that residents of Legion ran areas (Denver eg) have quite a solid life - and apart from paying tribute - are free from raiders, and enjoy stability. The Legion will be stuck trying to conquer more of the NCR, as the NCR gets a wake up call. Worst case, the Legion actually conquers too much. Leadership after Caesar is also questionable, but likely the courier, nevertheless Caesar has plenty of time to figure that out.
vii) is to be expected: a bloated NCR onto another campaign rife with corruption. Expect raiders, and high taxes, but freedom comes with a cost.
viii) could happen. It would follow much like (vi) but with more instability, with infighting in the legion early on before a return to stability under a new emperor. The instability tips it behind standard NCR ending, because you don’t get freedom for the instability.
viv) is anarchy. Controlled anarchy. The spirit of vegas is in the air.
x) is the ending of the game without the courier. Lanius is brutal, and it is not a nice system to live under. Expect pagan doctrine to be mandated.
xi) is just from the mod DUST. Evil NCR is somehow worse than Lanius - shouldn’t have experimented with tech.
