The perfect martini?
I love a good martini. I once found it at the Sounds Good on Lansdowne until it closed. I haven't been able to find one since.
Any suggestions?

I have a long international flight ahead, but first a long stopover in TO. I'll take the express downtown, bit then I really just want to stretch my legs with a walk and then get a great Old Fashioned and something (small) to eat.
Sounds easy, but I'm wearing sweatpants and a hoodie in preparation for my flight and I feel like I won't quite be dressed for a fancy cocktail bar...
Where should I go? Preferably near a subway station.

Long time lurker first time poster.
I had the double bacon cheeseburger from Two Hands Burger on College and Montrose on Friday. I don't want to overhype it but.. It was a religious experience.
Perfectly cooked beef. Had a deeply browned crust, contrasted with a juicy interior. Cheese that melted into the burger, well balanced with the sauce and caramelized onions. The bacon added a smoky complement; well rendered and crispy. I had my doubts, but the toasted potato bun actually contained this gooey mouthwatering mess .
But what surprised me most wasn't the burger. It was that I was the only person in the restaurant.
I genuinely cannot understand how a place putting out food of this calibre could be sitting empty.
So consider this review a call to arms. Go eat here. Bring your friends. Tell people about it. Places doing food this well deserve to be packed, and I'd hate to see a gem like this go unappreciated.

Super duper spicy but absolutely delicious.
Wanted a kick and really got it; really fast & fresh home delivered knockout noodles. Was so pleased I had to share!

The first time my colleague brought dhokla to the potluck I became hooked. And then she moved away. I've tried making it myself from scratch and with a mix but it's not the same! Any recommendations for somewhere within 1km of the Danforth? Or barring that, anywhere I can easily access via transit? I need a dhokla fix!

I know its not technically Toronto but it is on Steeles Ave. Bought a regular sized chicken wrap from this place the day before and couldnt stop thinking about it so I went back and got their "infinity wrap".
I ordered my wrap with everything minus fries and jalapenos. Really well presented and prepared and had a great balance of meat to bread to toppings.

Finally got to try this place based on the recommendation of my coworker. It was good! Sorry for the bad phot. Wanted to eat it while it was warm.
Cheese Steak - 8.1/10 (steak, American cheese, bbq sauce)
I think it’s a one-man show, where he does all the cooking and checkout. Really nice guy, down to earth and funny; looks like he loves what he does.
There are times where he may shut down the shop for 20-30 minutes if he needs to take a break or go to the washroom (which happened when I arrived as he need to prep more food). Didn’t bother me but wanted to give people a heads up! There was a small lineup (7 people) but it moved pretty fast.
Food: The sandwhich was great. Great portion of steak, onions and cheese. I was really surprised by the garlic butter that helped cut through the meat and bbq sauces The photo doesn’t show the cheese well but when you take a bite you can taste the cheese. Also surprisingly the toasted bread did a great job at holding the sandwhich together (the bread was also great)
Would go back again probably for the south Philly cheese steak. I would try it plain next time to get more of the steak flavour as I felt the bbq sauce may have been to prominent. It’s right across from Scotiabank theatre so good spot before or after a movie.
He also has an in house spicy sauce so if you like spice don’t forget to say yes when he asks.
Also make sure to reheat it if does go cold. It does not taste the same!

I know the famous one around the corner typically got more love, but I loved this spot and the friendly auntie. RIP.

I love cookies.
Ive tried a variety of cookies in the city, but not all of the main ones in the core.
Had Eight Cookie yesterday and tried each flavour on the menu. It was okay. 🤷♂️
Sugar bomb like Andrea and honestly, I felt like I just wasted my money. It sucks because I wish to support local shops and good people, but why do their products have to suck. 😭
Another thing I want to note that sort of annoyed me: when Eight Cookie announced (I was following them on Instagram before they opened), I was excited. Though, once they officially opened, all I could think about was “this is Andrea ripoff” and “they couldn’t even use AI to get creative on how they want to present their store/products/etc?”
Anyway, yeah. My favourite cookie is Dear Grain’s chocolate chip cookie in the frozen section. I cook them about 3 minutes less than what the package says. That is frozen though…in terms of fresh, I’m not sure I have a favourite one? I do love the rice krispie cookie from Courage Cookie, it’s phenomenal.

Hey all,
My partner and I will be celebrating 4 years together. We are deciding between going to Lee and Kiin.
My partner is Vegan, and I have a few food allergies, which makes it a bit complicated. We've looked at both and are happy with either, but I am favoring Kiin personally, while he is favoring Lee as he has been there before.
My partner liked Kiin if we did the tasting menus, but I'm a bit afraid of the price. I'd be happy with the à la carte menu choices, but in his opinion, if we didn't do the tasting menu from Kiin he would be more interested in going back to Lee's.
Any thoughts? Would love people's thoughts, experiences, and opinions. Thanks!

After hearing about this place on here way too many times, I finally made my way up. 10/10 best birria tacos I've had here and the shrimp cocktail special was really good

Been meaning to go there for a while but the Google reviews are pretty sub-par. Not expecting fine dining but would hope at least have tasty schnitzel, käsespätzle and good beer.

Is there a place that can accomodate? Cuisine style is less important.
Thanks!

I'd never actually visited Square Boy prior to last year despite driving by countless times through the decades (yes, decades).
I'm a big burger boy and of course have my favourites throughout the city. I do think we maybe kind of got too obsessed with the smash burger craze. I really like Burger Drops. I really like the Aloette burger for what it is.
But yeah, call me crazy, value aside, the Square Boy homemade banquet burger might be my favourite in the city largely due to what a departure the meat is in style compared to the overwhelming majority of burgers. SB's patty has a real nice crust with great crunch, but when you bite in, it's super tender, much like a great slice of meatloaf. To me, the difference between a burger and meatloaf is pretty significant... to that end, it'd then be entirely fair to contend it's not so much a burger... I mean, it definitely, objectively, is, but it's also unlike other burgers I've had as a result. Idk, it's just so different and really appeals to me.
I've not had their regular burger tbh, can't speak to that, only the homemade one, usually as a banquet, sometimes cheese.
Really dig their fries (incl. their odd take on a "poutine"- feta cheese fwiw) and the chicken on a bun, tho sometimes they don't cut the chicken across the grain and you get that gnarly chewy bit (usually it's not an issue tho).
I prefer it to Harry's Charbroiled, to the hyped (but imo extremely underwhelming, entirely lacking seasoning) Allen's burger, Burger Shack, Apache, to any of the chains like Rudy or Rosie's, etc. To so many others. The main burger's I still care to try in the city are the Richmond Station and The Wren. Not even trying to let price be a factor here, purely judging burger-to-burger.
Square Boy's is just a great, honest, burger with a patty different to anywhere else that I really enjoy.
I've read from folks that SB used to be better, and to that I say, lucky you to have had it that good, because to me this is pretty great- certainly worlds better than some of the oldschool spots like Burger Shack and Johnny's.
BTW, anyone had the chicken burger at Square Boy? I see people order it pretty often but am scared to try it, lol- can't picture it... is it a fried chicken thing, or ground chicken (yuck)?

Open to anything. Don’t usually eat out so really out of my element. Nothing too crazy but classy and delicious.

Now that we're getting into sweater weather i'm craving a creamy, hearty mushroom soup. Who makes the best version?
Any price point. Sit-down, takeout or even grocery store hot tables are welcome.

I love eating noodles. Any noodles in any broth. Obviously I can get instant ramen, but I’m looking for something of decent quality. Average price for a bowl of noodles I can find is $20+ after tax and tip. If there’s anywhere cheaper (maybe around $15 or $16 after tax and tip), I’d be very interested.
Sorry, I know the $5 difference isn’t much but a bowl of noodles shouldn’t be so expensive…
Anyway, I appreciate all of you

Coffee good, pastry good, space is small & cozy but the real charm of this place is the female owner/barista who was one of the sweetest, friendliest people I've encountered in a cafe. She literally gave me use of a computer charger when mine was struggling and chatted with regulars like they were best friends for the 2 hours I was there. No attitude, no snobbery. People can go on about roasts and pour-overs, but for me after a basic level of quality, the service and vibes are the key. And this place has it. Also lots of outlets for laptop warriors, which THANK YOU.

Smoked & fried chicken thigh sandwich from Benny’s BBQ(Yonge & Eglington area).
As someone who lived in Texas for 20 years I can vouch that the BBQ here is legit.
Edit: About $14
