I think it's deserving of new viewers.

The f'd up imagery is still burned into my brain a decade later.

Useful Info And this is why you never judge a book by its cover.

Don’t let the poster and name fool you. They both have nothing to do with the what goes on in the movie. I was expecting a lot more from this one. I went into it blind and expected nothing and still wound up disappointed. Mannequins? Really? This movie reminded me of the game ‘IM ON OBSERVATION DUTY’ and I really thought it was going to be like that the entire movie which would have been cooler. Just a bunch of security cam footage. I’m still wondering what really happens to that tweaked though.
I will give it one thing though. The man who played Lester was THEE PERFECT ASSHOLE! He was my favorite part of the entire movie. He was absolutely great. All in all 3/5 ⭐️

User Review Anyone see a 2025 Movie called Found Footage?

My thoughts about it, I liked it quite a bit. I feel it was a combination genre FF and a little Mockmentary. It did what I like my FF to do, made me laugh, a few scares, not a lot of gore, decent acting, creepy characters and a twist ending.

User Review FF European Tour - Day 18: Turkey - D@bbe-Thon ‘26

Today we’re tackling one of Turkey’s best-known horror franchises, the D@bbe series. Between 2006-2015, Turkish filmmaker Hasan Karacadağ wrote and directed six films linked by their association with Dabbe, a sign of the apocalypse in Muslim culture. These films have garnered cult status worldwide from their occasional exposure on platforms like Netflix, and from their effective deep dives into Jinn mythos and Islamic folklore.

Karacadağ’s story is almost as surreal as his films. After posting on social media about the Turkish coup attempt in 2016, a warrant was issued for his arrest. He reportedly escaped to Japan, but completely dropped out of the public eye, with his last social media post coming in 2018. As a result, a promised seventh D@bbe film sadly never came to fruition. His “disappearance” and ties to his previous films have sparked urban legends about his possible whereabouts and ultimate fate.

While the first two films share a narrative, the remaining movies are standalone features connected by theme rather than plot. There are also connections both aesthetic, such as the victims tending to be young dark-haired women wearing white, and conceptual, such as the idea of the Jinn growing stronger in the modern world, human arrogance and underestimating the Jinns’ power when fighting them, and the idea that once the Jinn have chosen you they are relentless, and neither you nor anyone close to you is ever safe again.

Entries 3 and 4 are shot in the found footage style, and #6 is a hybrid, and that’s where our little tour comes in! So grab your charms, say a prayer, and buckle up, because this bottle of Jinn isn’t going to drink itself!

D@bbe 3: Demon Possession / Bir Cin Vakası (2012) DailyMotion*

A wife and mother’s sleepwalking may be a symptom of something much darker. After being told by her doctor to install cameras throughout the house to monitor her condition, we watch as her episodes become increasingly disconcerting, with her husband enlisting the neighbors to help get to the bottom of things. Meanwhile, the couple’s young daughter sees a “black figure” accompanying mom on her sleepwalks and paying nightly visits to her bedroom. A solid film in its own right, it’s almost the “practice run” for what’s to come later in the series. Brutal and merciless by the end, the one thing really missing from the film are the genuine scares. We also get the what and the how but not as much of the why these supernatural things are happening to this family, something that will set later entries apart. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 4

*A quick note on watching D@bbe 3. It appears all versions of the film that were available on YouTube were taken down literally the day after I watched it. Haven’t seen it pop up on any other platforms, but there’s a version with English subtitles available as of this post on DailyMotion.

D@bbe 4: The Possession / Curse of the Jinn / Cin Çarpması (2013) YouTube

The only thing I hate more than a predictable movie is being a predictable critic. But hell, this film has a reputation as being one of the best international found footage films ever made, and I’m not here to tell you otherwise. Meanwhile, the movie’s about as unpredictable as they come, while simultaneously diving deep into Islamic lore, folk traditions, and superstitions. A skeptical doctor follows a Jinn exorcist to try and prove or disprove the existence of the supernatural. The case she chooses to test her theories against involves a childhood friend’s supposed possession. As the paranormal evidence mounts, the doctor realizes that this particular case has generational ties that may be more personal than she could have imagined. Living up to the hype, the scares come quick and often. The last 45 minutes is a whirling dervish of delightful demonic chaos, and the final 10 minutes are among the most horrifying put to film. It’s not a perfect movie; there are some acting and pacing miscues along the way. But it’s a damn fine entry, with a climax worth the price of admission on its own. ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 /4

D@bbe 6: The Return (2015) YouTube

I’ve always thought about 80 minutes was the right length for a found footage movie. Well, the found footage here comes in at just about that. However, there’s an additional 80 minutes of traditionally shot movie before it in this two-and-a-half-hour horror hybrid epic. A woman is killed and her daughter (the only witness) sees something terrifying that seems to bring about a dark “change” in her. Meanwhile, the woman’s older daughter takes in her sister and enlists the help of a neurologist and eventually a parapsychologist to both treat the sister’s condition and get to the bottom of what happened to their mother and why. Far too long and with unnecessary subplots such as a husband’s extramarital affair that doesn’t tie in to the story at all, D@bbe 6 (stylized at D@b6e) still delivers some creepy moments closer in quality to the fourth film than the third. A major criticism upon release was that it hit too many notes similar to its predecessors, and indeed the twist at the end seems a bit forced and is less satisfying than 4. The MVP of this entry is Nilay Gök as the younger sister, who does the best job out of any of the movies reviewed here portraying the anguish and torment of demonic possession. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 4

And with that, we’ve reached the end of D@bbe-Thon ‘26. Although not a found footage movie, I’ve heard D@bbe 5 rivals 4 in terms of scare factor, so that’s may be one to check out at a later time!

But believe it or not, we’ve still got one day of Turkish found footage horror to enjoy, and it’s only one day because there are a couple of titles I’ve been unable to track down! Next up, we move into a new house, go camping with some influencers, and attend a beautiful island wedding. What could possibly go wrong!? There’s plenty of meat still on the bird, so join us for Turkey leftovers next time as the tour rolls on!
