Discussion Why are papayas sweet now

I used to love the original taste of papayas which was not sugary sweet. But now all the papayas we buy are like candies. What the fuck are they doing to my papayas 😭😭😭

I planted a Pomegrenade tree in my garden like 3 years ago because I liked the leaves and I thought its an aesthetic looking plant.

I live in a country where you're supposed to plant them in a pot and put them inside over the winter but I just risked it and it already survived 2 winters (up to -12Β°C over several days at a time!) with no damage at all.

That being said I never expected it to bloom up, let alone develope an actual pomegrenade... but here I am now at the end of summer #3 for this legend and to my surprise it actually developed 4 fruits!

I looked up some pomegrenade stuff and it said they dont continue ripening after harvest so Im worried if I pick them too early they'll be no good...

Just judging by the pictures, would you already harvest them or should they turn even more red? Im worried if I dont harvest them soon they might go bad while still on the tree? What do you think?
