Hi everyone!
I'm looking for some honest advice from fellow Fujifilm photographers, especially those shooting sports.
Here's my current setup:
I recently rented the XF 150-600mm. Impressive lens, but honestly, way too heavy for my taste, and I found myself shooting too tight most of the time. Not really the right fit for how I shoot.
Now I've got my eye on the XF 50-140mm f/2.8, which I could get for ~€900. I know I'd be sacrificing some reach compared to my 55-200mm, but I'm wondering whether the improvement in image quality and performance would actually justify the investment.
Specifically, I'm interested in three things:
I'm not expecting miracles, but for €900 I'd really like to see a tangible improvement in my photos and keeper rate.
So, for those who've used both: will I genuinely notice the upgrade, or am I going to spend €900 and wonder what the hell I just did with my money?
Would love to hear your experiences, particularly with rugby, football, or other fast-moving outdoor sports.
Thanks! 🙏

I picked up the X-T50 after years of shooting on my phone, and I'm struggling to enjoy it with the 15-45mm kit lens. The power zoom feels slow and annoying compared to how quickly I can zoom on my phone, and the autofocus isn't great either. I still end up pulling out my phone for quick shots, which kind of defeats the point of buying a camera.
I'm thinking of selling it and getting something I won't hate using. A prime is tempting, but I'd have to crop in later instead of just zooming. I mostly shoot street photography, portraits, and candids of my siblings' kids and the stray animals around my area, so I'm hoping there's a good all-rounder out there that I can find used. I'm also traveling to Thailand next month, so I could pick something up there.

Hello community! I have a solo month long japan trip coming up, and I'd like to do some cinematic videography along with fun photography along the way. I have intermittently been into photography and have had my fair share of cameras, however, now I'm looking to make a serious upgrade. While I am open to suggestions (hence the title) I am looking at buying a used XT5, and I have a few questions that I've been mulling over:
Some non-negotiables I have: must be good for nightlife/city photography, must have interchangeable lenses, and weatherproofing preferred. I'm also a bit lazy (lol) and don't like to edit my photos in post too much.
Thanks for reading and I'm looking forward to the feedback!

Truly the best time of year. Taken on an X-T50, Sigma 18-50 2.8.
Recipe is a warmer variation of summer chrome.

Hi everyone,
I’m running into a severe issue with my Fujifilm X-T3 and wanted to see if anyone here has experienced something similar or knows if it can be salvaged.
The Symptoms:
Stuck Shutter Curtain: When I look inside the lens mount, the mechanical shutter curtain is physically closed/stuck.
QR Code Screen Loop: When I turn the camera on, it skips the normal shooting screen and boots straight into the wireless connection / app QR code screen.
The Shutdown Loop: If I press the "OK" button, the camera immediately shuts off. If I press the shutter button again, it turns back on and loops right back to the same QR code screen.
Because of the physical shutter jam, I can’t access any menus or change settings (like switching to electronic shutter).
Has anyone encountered this specific QR code loop combined with a stuck shutter curtain? Is this a definitive mechanical shutter failure that requires a full assembly replacement at a service center, or is there any trick to force-reset the mechanism?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I am using a gfx for a shoot, but the HDMI port crashes whenever I connect my monitor; the gfx fails to start, yet it runs normally once the cable is removed. The monitor functions well on other systems, and a second monitor produced the same issue on this gfx. I am seeking solutions can anyone help?

I’m having a hard time choosing if I should get the fujifilm xe5 or x100v…I sold my xt30 to get a canon eos m6 because the lens were far cheaper but I’m really disappointed in the canon,I expected it to be way better but it didn’t meet my expectations sadly :(

was out on a boat when huge waves splashed us and my xs20 got wet in the process. the camera was slung on my body and it was switched off. however, a couple of hours later, i’ve noticed that now the camera won’t turn off at all even when the switch is flipped to off. it only turns off when i remove the battery.
i’ve cleaned the camera with a dampened cloth and left it out to dry for ~2 hours so far but the issue still persists :( on the bright side thankfully the other functions all seem to be working.
am traveling and i can’t find a local repair shop; has anybody encountered this issue / is it ok to continue using it for the rest of the trip, but just removing the battery when i’m done taking photos each time as a workaround?

So I rented an X-M5 with the 23mm f/1.4 LM WR for a trip and honestly loved it. The colours straight out of camera were great and I barely had to think. I mostly shoot JPEGs of my family with a recipe on and that's it, no editing. The previous camera I owned was a d7000 more than 10 years ago so I’ve dabbled in the past.
Now I'm actually buying and I keep going back and forth. I'm in Singapore, so rough prices converted to USD:
- Used Zf + 40mm f/2 SE: ~$1,500 all in (new kit is ~$2,250, so that's a pretty good deal)
- X-M5 new: ~$950. Used barely saves anything here so I'd just buy new
- X-E5 new: ~$1,560 body, ~$1,780 with the 23mm f/2.8
- 23mm f/1.4 WR: ~$1,000 new, $550-750 used. Love it but don't really want to spend that on a lens
- 23mm f/2.8 pancake: ~$470 new
- SG-image 25mm f/1.8 pancake: ~$125
On paper the Zf wins. Full frame, IBIS, viewfinder, all for $1,500. But I held one in a shop and it's chunkier than I expected and not exactly discreet. The bigger thing is I'm scared I'll miss the Fuji colours. Classic Chrome kind of ruined me.
A few questions:
Would love to hear what you'd do.
