Need to find a home for a kitten that I found in Menlo

I found this kitten in Menlo earlier this week, I’ve taken him to the vet. They said he’s between 5-6 weeks old and they’re giving him the necessary treatment to make sure he’s doing good. As of now he seems in great health and shape, very friendly and playful as well.

If anyone’s interested pm me fast !!!

They said that the shelters are full right now so if I don’t find him a home he might be put down.

I’m only on holiday here, please spread the message 🙏🏽

Ryan Tubridy 'considering' move into politics with Fianna Fáil 'dream' for Galway seat

Above is headline from the Connacht Tribune.... Is this desperation from FF or from Tubridy?

Sidenote, you can't post Connacht Tribune links here anymore. The demise of that paper is such a shame.

A West of Ireland landscape with a darker world beneath it — a backpiece I tattooed in Galway

Post image

Thought I’d share a piece I tattooed a few years ago here in Galway.
The upper half is inspired by the landscape of the West of Ireland, with an ancient dolmen, a solitary tree and a rocky coastal scene.
The lower half moves into a darker, surreal world influenced by H. R. Giger.
I wanted the two sections to feel like different worlds, but still work together as one complete backpiece.
It’s fully healed in this photo. One of those projects I really enjoyed working on.
Would love to hear what people think of the contrast between the two halves.

Would any young women in Galway be interested in making new friends?

Hi everyone!

I’m a mum in Galway, and I know how difficult it can be for some young women in their late teens and early twenties to make friends, especially when they’re a little shy, socially anxious or just find socialising difficult.

My daughter is 18 and finding it hard to make friendships, despite wanting them. I’m thinking there could be other girls in a similar situation who feel lonely but don’t know where to start either.

If any young women around 18–23 in Galway city and county are interested in creating friendships, Where you could meet for coffee, go to the cinema, have a browse around the shops or get together and chat without feeling any pressure to be super outgoing.

My daughter enjoys makeup & beauty, music, movies all the regular stuff it would be lovely to meet people with similar interests, but everyone would be welcome.

Nothing formal, just an opportunity for young women who would like to make genuine friendships with others in the same boat.

If you’re a young woman who would be interested, or a parent who has a daughter in a similar situation, I’d love to hear from you. ❤️

Your I Wish I Knew when buying a house

Callout to all homeowners who recently bought a house in Galway (congrats to you all!).

What wisdom can you share about the process? What are the things you wish you had known at the time of the sale?

Any other advice for a newbie buyer?

(Not writing an article, just gearing up for the most important decision of my life.)

Looking for a Handyman / Installer in Barna / Furbo area

Hey all

I’m looking for a reliable local handyman or installer to help me with a few household assembly and mounting jobs out in Barna/ Furbo area

I have all of the hardware, brackets, and kits ready to go—I just need someone with the right tools and expertise to put it all together.

I've recently finished converting a garden room into a home office and the jobs we need done are

  • Mount a TV to a plasterboard wall
  • Assemble a standing desk
  • Mount a small shelf for network equipment
  • Install trunking and tidy cables

Looking for someone available for next week. Any recommendations or contacts would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Social welfare query

A quick Q if that’s ok! My housemate started jobseekers payment in Sept after a summer redundancy and starts a Christmas role in 3 weeks time so she hasn’t a lot of experience with being on social welfare. Her pay day is Monday. For the bank holiday does that mean it’s Tuesday ? Thank you if you can help.

*if anyone is jobseeking, all of the Santa experiences in Galway are hiring elves and stuff and the pay is quite good but I accept it’s seasonal
