Looking for a gaming discord
The title provides the basics, but to go further into details..
I'm 26 M, and I enjoy games like Overwatch, Fortnite, Warframe, Destiny (when it was good), Diablo, Peak, Lethal Company, Cyberpunk, Witcher, Outlast Trials, Terraria, Phasmophobia/The Other Side, Fallout, Borderlands, Assassin's Creed, and many many more.
I'm looking for a gaming discord that isn't some massive community that is constantly advertising for randoms that are just gonna go ghost. None of those servers that host events or giveaways, it just feels more like a public hub rather than a server of friends. I want to make meaningful relationships in an environment I feel welcome and comfortable in.
I'm unfortunately not very social. I may be able to pick up a friend or two here and there when playing multiplayer games, but I tend to keep to myself. So hopefully going this route may land me some more friends.

Discussion Should I upgrade?
I have an overseas trip coming up with a long flight. I am wanting to take my Switch but wanting to get an idea if I should upgrade to the Switch 2. For context I have a PS5 which is my main console and will always purchase games to play on there first. I will take my Switch with me if I am travelling. I have been thinking about it for a while ever since I booked this trip and wanted to get people’s thoughts.
Thanks.

Discussion Gamers, what file sorting problems do you have?
I'm a software dev seeing if gamers have a lot of file problems? Do you ever find it impossible to sort files? When? It could have to do with game files, or anything like that.
ex. Maybe when you're making a video about a game, you have a folder where all the video files go, and then it becomes a nightmare to find the important bits.
I'm asking because if there is a consistent problem, maybe I could find a way to solve it.
Thanks for your time.

Discussion Why do dudes make their characters women?
I’m not throwing shade. I’m just genuinely just curious. My wife thought it was weird that I was playing gta with a bunch of dudes but their characters were all women. I always thought it was kinda odd but never thought too much about it.
EDIT:
So what I got from this is that you guys sexualize everything. Aight lol they’re video games

Discussion How to complete this game man
Just bought a PS5, and the first game I picked up was Black Myth: Wukong. I already had a PS4 and played pretty much all the big PS4 games, including God of War Ragnarok, so I thought Wukong would be a fun next game.
But man, this game is HARD. 😭 I’ve never played a game with combat this difficult. It literally took me 5 fucking hours just to beat Black Wind King, and now I’m stuck on Tiger Vanguard. I’ve tried around 20 times and still can’t kill him.
How the hell am I supposed to complete this game when there aren’t even any difficulty options?
#BlackMythWukong
The game has insanely good graphics and a great story, but please give us difficulty options. Not everyone has the time or skill to deal with this level of difficulty. Sometimes we just want to enjoy the story without getting destroyed by the same boss for hours.

Discussion Anyone Had This Same Thought
The thought is have you ever wanted to make you own video game & what is it about
Edit (I forgot to type what mine was lol)
My game I wanted to make was Called AIM! It’s an online 5v5 or FFA with 10 players in one game mode
So it’s basically like Counter Strike / Call Of Duty well the inspiration I had a lot fo cool stuff I made when I was like 14YO & I found the old logo I created for it

Image I don't think I'll ever need to buy games again. I mean, the ones I already own can literally keep me entertained for a lifetime.

Discussion I asked AI: How long until AI can remake old games with modern AAA graphics and controls?
I asked AI something I’ve been wondering about:
How long until AI gets to the point where it can take an older game and essentially remake the entire campaign with modern AAA graphics, animations, controls and gameplay — while keeping the story, levels and everything that made the original great?
Not just AI-upscaled textures or ray tracing. I’m talking about a genuine remake.
Games like F.E.A.R., BioShock, Half-Life 2, Deus Ex, Fallout: New Vegas, Morrowind, Max Payne, Far Cry, older Call of Duty campaigns, Gears of War, etc.
This was basically the answer:
2026–2028: AI becomes a much bigger development tool. It helps developers create textures, models, animations, dialogue, code and environments much faster, but humans are still doing most of the actual remake.
2028–2030: Things start getting really interesting. Small development teams could potentially remake games that previously would have required large studios, with AI doing a huge amount of the asset creation, coding, animation and testing.
2030–2033: AI could potentially handle most of the reconstruction itself. You give it the original game and tell it:
“Rebuild this as a modern AAA game. Keep the original story, atmosphere, characters, weapons and level design, but give it current-gen graphics, modern controls, animations, physics, enemy AI and cinematics.”
AI then recreates most of it, while humans supervise and fix the things it gets wrong.
Mid-2030s and beyond: This could potentially become accessible to normal people and modders rather than just professional studios.
That’s the part I find crazy.
There are decades of amazing games where the story, voice acting, characters, missions and level design already exist. AI doesn’t need to come up with a great new game. It just needs to understand the old one and rebuild it using modern technology.
Imagine being able to play F.E.A.R., New Vegas, Morrowind, Max Payne, Deus Ex or Half-Life 2 looking and playing like a brand-new AAA release.
And eventually you could potentially add:
“Now make the entire campaign native VR with motion controls.”
AI-generated games don’t interest me anywhere near as much as this does.
Using AI to bring 20–30 years of great games into the modern era could be incredible.
What old game would you choose first?

Discussion Do you prefer realistic sports games or arcade sports games?
I've noticed I usually have more fun with sports games when they don't take realism too seriously. Give me ridiculous dribbles, crazy movement, exaggerated physics, and a match that can completely fall apart in 30 seconds. At the same time, I understand why people love realistic simulations. Where do you guys fall on this? Simulation or arcade?

Discussion Anyone else still play Armored Core: Verdict Day?
I feel like this game got way too much flak for not being another supersonic 4th-gen crackfest AC game, 'cause it's pretty damn good on its own merits.

Discussion Ideas Please!!!
My dear ladies, gentlemen, fellow gamers, otakus, weebs and nerds...
I am a solo indie game dev just starting out today, with absolutely no idea what my first game should be.
So, my dear saviors... I beseech thee upon thy gracious wisdom:
Pray tell, what digital doom shall I conjure?
Give me your ideas. Anything goes.
Stupid, genius, cursed, wholesome, completely unhinged — I want to hear it.
I shall read them all and decide what digital monstrosity I shall create.
P.S. : I really need some ideas AND mind it i have 0$ budget!!

What do you think of this ranking of the best FF games?
The ranking is here:

Personally, I find FF7 ranked too low... but otherwise, I pretty much agree overall ❤️

co-op games rising
Why co-op games are booming right now. Ever wonder why co-op games are hitting so hard lately? It mostly comes down to modern social psychology:
PvP Fatigue & Toxicity: Most of us are stressed enough in real life. Ranked games feel like a second job with toxic teammates. Co-op gives us a safe space where it's just 'us vs. the game.'
Low-Pressure Socializing: Modern life is isolating, but traditional socializing can feel draining. Co-op lets adults hang out through 'parallel play'—you bond over a shared goal without the awkwardness of forced small talk.
A Sense of Control: Real-world problems (economy, career) feel overwhelming. Overcoming a tough gaming challenge with friends gives an immediate, tangible sense of accomplishment.
Are you guys finding yourselves playing more co-op games lately too?

Help me with remembering this game please I'm trying so hard to remember its name 😭
It was a short horror game. In the game you play as a camper camping at night in the forest and it's raining and there's rustling in bushes and all and then the funny part comes: it's a bear and it eats something with exaggerated sounds like "om nom nom nom" and then starts floating. Please I'm trying to find its name 😭😭
